Unfortunately we have no control over when the game decides to go into scripted mode or suddenly reverse the core gameplay which the options depend on. We cannot play through the entire game testing every option to know when this might occur. If someone wants to send a savegame where this is occurring we can look into it, otherwise just don't use the trainer during these missions or sequences.

Yeah, well I know it's not easy to code the trainer. Fortunately the game has plenty of checkpoints so for those few moments where the trainer doesn't work I just quit the game and restart it and play without the trainer, activating it only when I passed that critical moment.

Anyway, thanks for the trainer, and once again, excellent work and quick release, both as expected from CH .

It has been working great here. However is does not have unlimited ammo for the Hunting rifle. Only all other guns. Just FYI.

Offtopic this is one of the most annoying games EVER; Alan Wake can "run" for 5-10 seconds before collapsing into a gasping pile of zombiefood...
When a horde of axewielding maniacs are on your tail, you'd have so much adrenaline in your system, you WOULD NOT STOP until your heart literally explodes.

The first trainer release is really fast. I'm still downloading from steam for 7 hours because steam only provides about 300 kb/s.

It's not just the options, all you need to do is keep the trainer activated and the "dead body" bug appears which makes it impossible to continue some missions (like the ones where you follow the kidnapper). You don't even have to enable any of the options.

Indeed, this would appear to be the case. I could not complete the tutorial either with the trainer activated. You also end up dying in the shack instead of just being injured and then shown the light. I initially thought I was missing something that I needed to find to get out of the cabin, heh.

i will check with the patched steam to see if this continues to occur. this doesn't occur with my version of the game.

    best,
    Cal

Cheers. Fortunately, that's not a section where you really need the trainer anyway, so I did disable it to pass. It was more that I didn't understand at that point that the trainer could cause issues with scripted events, and I thought that I was missing a clue in the cabin on how to escape. The first tutorial level doesn't really require the trainer in order to get through, even if you suck at the game. You get more than enough ammo to slay the few enemies that appear.

It would appear that there are, indeed, only a few scripted sections where bodies not being removed causes an issue. I incorrectly assumed that it would be a problem in normal play as well, given that the first enemy that you kill falls foul of this bug, but it was indeed simply a scripted event. I'm curious as to what causes the bodies not to be removed when using the trainer (the act of the bodies not disappearing seems to be what causes the scripts to break, rather than anything to do with the desired effects of the trainer or its options), but it doesn't appear to be a major issue during actual gameplay.

    Thanks again.

heh, indeed. I've noticed a few games recently like that. There was one - can't remember what it was now - where you played a character who was a marine special forces veteran or somesuch. He could run for roughly 3 or 4 seconds before slowing right down and starting to wheexe (extremely loudly at that, it was actually quite annoying, heh).

How exactly do the dead bodies glitch the game? Do they get in the way of players so that can't progress or does Alan treat them as enemies even though they are dead?
