I also cannot see the December trainer in the list. I have gone to the link you posted and my latest trainer is 10.27.2011 .
I am not sure why some people see the trainer and others do not.

That's becuase it's not a typo. People are saying that the trainer from december of last year is working again. you need to use an older version, the December 15/2010 trainer.

Even with the December 15 2010 trainer with all options enabled, I still get random general protection fault crashes.

Ok I gotcha, thank you. As to previous response personally I'd rather have something that gives occasional errors than not have it at all. I'm good to go and well pleased.

I'm getting crashes too even wit the dec 2010 trainer Anyone have some advice?

Do you use Super Clip on low ammo weapons? This usually crashes the game. The zero weight cheat will also crash.
