I was having an issue with the civ5 trainer that I thought was due to something on my system going haywire. As I browsed the processes, I see a BPuster.exe running in my computer, the only game I had installed other than Civ 5 was the new APB free to play game that was advertised on steam.
No where do I remember anything saying that I had to install it, or for that matter, if it was installed. You have to go up to PB's support site that has the uninstall for the service.
It does interfere with the trainers we use here, that was painfully obvious after removing the service and trying the game and trainer.
Watch it, Steam is now allowing games companies to install this WITHOUT your knowledge or consent.

No offence DarkAxe i presume you are referring to Punk-Buster in your post? if so i will watch out for that in the future.
I think Crysis and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare ( the first Modern Warfare ) install Punkbuster too if I remember . It's basically an anti-cheat process for online gaming . If you want to carry on playing APB I guess you'll need to leave it running to not get kicked and/or banned from their servers . Rather than removing it altogether I'd suggest setting it to manual start up so that it doesn't start with windows , but does start when APB starts allowing you to play your online game but not interfering with your offline games when you do a simple restart .
But for Modern Warfare, I believe that it asked you to accept the terms for PunkBuster before it installed it. He is saying to be careful because APB installs PunkBuster without you accepting the terms to PunkBuster.
