I know how to start a glide from a roof but how do you get Bats to glide up????

Hold the corresponding button to GLIDE. Then press the corresponding button to do dive bomb. After picking up some speed, let go of that button while still gliding. Immediately pull up and you would glide up.

If you have a grapple gun then gliding can be done continuously.

Would you please tell me which buttons specially I should use since I have tried after reading your last post and I still get it to work.

I play on PC and the gliding seems to work for me only in downward direction for some reason. The way I increase my elevation is using the grappler. While going down (gliding), you randomly grapple a target in front of you and this way you keep your self moving forward. I don't know about console. As for gliding down and going up it has to do w/ an ability that has to be unlocked in order to be used. I think it is the gliding and dive bombing attack where you can dive and then let go off the diving to glide. On pc diving is down by using CTRL while Gliding (using SPACEBAR).

Well I tried all that and all I manage to do is slam into the ground very fast and amazingly land on my feet!

It's a shame too since there is a part of this game where you need to do some fancy gliding and if I can't gte past that I should never have bought this game.

I actaully just read in the GameSpy review that with this games control scheme it is really meant to be played with a gamepad.

it was a console port remember, but as for gliding make sure that the ability is unlocked, then glide off a roof press ctrl then use the mouse to pull up, works okay might need a bit of practice with it at first i did

also found myself holding W on PC on Glide release it and the S controls up

Actually gliding is easy. Found out later on that when you dive while gliding all you have to do is stop diving and your momentum will give you the lift required to gain height.
