I noticed there was a distinct lack of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic discussion here on CH, one of my favorite lurking grounds. As a brony, it is my duty to inform, enlighten, seek out other bronies, and offer love, tolerance, and friendship to all who desire it.

But Shotgunmaniac, derailer of threads, what is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? What's a brony It's a TV show on HUB, Hasbro's network. It's now a proper Saturday morning cartoon, airing at 9 AM CST. A brony (a portmanteau of "bro" and "pony" is someone who watches the show.

But Shotgunmaniac, why do you like a show for little girls? It was actually made for children, their parents, and those of us in between the two. It was created and is now produced by Lauren Faust, who made Dexter's Lab/PowerPuff Girls, which also appealed to some older audiences. It's also incredibly well animated and voice acted, and its overall style is a throwback to the cartoons of yesteryear. It also has great characters, and each episode features a moral theme or life lesson. The humor is prominent, but also a throwback, as it's full of puns that younger children obviously would not understand.

Its older fandom regularly produces a significant amount of quality art and stories - one of the longest fan fiction stories is currently longer than the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. A lot of the art can be found on Deviantart. The fandom have also named a few characters, and Faust has stated that due to the popularity of characters like "Derpyhooves" (a mail carrying pony with a lazy eye that is seen in the background a few times but never named) fan names and characters may eventually become more prominent in the show!

All this sound nice Shotgun, but I don't get Hub/I don't want to watch in the middle of the second season! Well, I prescribe watching them in glorious 1080p high definition on Youtube, right from the first episode here: Link
Hasbro provides the episodes on their hubworld website as well, but they are of lower quality and segmented - but best of all, they actually promote the Youtube uploaders, so long as they do not attempt to profit from it. So you can watch the entire series for free right at your computer, entirely legally.

If you actually did read everything/are already a brony, please post! Bronies gain their power from brohoofs and are more comfortable around other bronies, after all. Note: If you are anti-brony, you will be loved, tolerated, and finally befriended until you are legally declared dead or leave the thread.

If you go to the link in the first post, then go to the uploader's page, he has all the episodes in 1080p, first section is Season 1, second is Season 2. It's really easy to get lost in watching them all back to back. Sonic Rainboom has to be my favorite thus far.

I stuck with just "brony" because it's generally accepted that anyone who isn't in the target demographic that likes the show is a brony, regardless of gender. If only because filly/pegasister and the like are more what someone will personally identify as, but brony is more universal to all fans.

On my WoW server, bronies are commonplace. They even had their own guild.
