Since I haven't seen any other post about this I thought responding here would be okay, sorry if it's not.

To speed up mining, you can actually equip the pickaxe and 'attack' the ore vein directly, it'll go much faster than the game does itself.

Adding to that, you can used the shout Elemental Force to improve your attack speed with the pickaxe and rip through the veins in 3-5 seconds.

I just 'found' something concerning mining. Dunno if others have discovered that already but, if you mine manualy (so equiping the pikcaxe and attacking the node) if you actually do it very slowly, you can get up to 3 ore from a vein and more gems. It's still faster than when the character does it by itself and more productive. Especially nice for iron ore.

You get more ore letting it do it automatically. The manual method may be faster but it's not very efficient.

yeah i have been doing double pickaxe attacks (equip one pick in each hand and go at it) it yields the same amount of ore/gems i would have gotten if i did it on auto.. only reason i needed mining in the first place was for the achivement other than that i just use codes when i need some ore ;D

Oh well, thanks I never really checked my inventory before and after mining so I never really paid attention to the ammount of ore I got in my bag, only saw what the game was telling me while mining. So yeah, faster to just pound it
