In Oblivion, it will reset your stats. However, you can avoid it by saving the game with the console still open.

Yes, in Oblivion. In Skyrim that doesn't happen. At least, it hasn't been a problem for me, and I've changed several characters many times with it.

I havent seen the full explanation on clearing bounties here so i thought I would post it. If it has been previously posted here I apologize.

Player.setcrimegold 0 does not work on its own, you have to add the faction id after the amount of desired crimegold. Faction Id can be found throughthe help menu (example "help eastmarch 4" ) find the value preceded by FACT and desired area where u have a bounty. And of course you can check which hold u have a bounty out of through the general stats menu under crime tab.

You can add perks all day long, but in the end you still have to rank up in each category ie: destruction, alteration, ect, ect. If you really want the true benefits from the game. What I do is keep setting my level back to 1 ie: player.setlevel 1
This lets you rank up faster, but frist you must set your skill level below 100, I used 50.I now got restoration, destruction, smithing, heavyarmor, lightarmor, and I think one more; but can't remember what it is.
My only problem is that I have so much health, stamina, and magic from each time I leveled up I really do not need god mode except I like to jump off mountains which will kill you in a heartbeat without god mode. I can sit there and let armed to the teeth bandits beat the c___ out of me and I take no damage, well may be a little but when they stop to catch there breath in two seconds I'm back to full health.
I not saying this wont take a while to do, but it's fun doing it. The plus side is you eraned it too. The only other side effect is I can not use up graded weapons almost everything dies in the first hit. So if it bugs you that you are not really ranking up try this. Have fun.

Am I missing something? I've seen people talk about reseting levels to 1 and getting perk points quickly through that, but every time I change anything using the console, all my leveling progression stops. How are people using the console and still able to level up?

If you have your skills set to 100 ie. player.setav destruction 100 you will not be able to advance. You need to set it lower than 100, most skills are never above 50 so I set my skills to 50 or 60. This way the game see you need to rank up. It is the same with all skills ie. alteration, marksman, block, twohanded, onehanded, so on so forth.

heh...guys does anyone know the ID for this special/rare/unique/whatever imperial helmet? Not imperial helmet nor imperial officers helmet, but the closed, full-faced imperial helmet? you can sometime see it on the loading screen. Don't laugh I missed it.
