Well it was about time our woes to the existing system couldn't be more. Now ACTA seems to be the new "God" playing with our freedom.

What do we, as responsible Internet users say to this? It's a HELL NO from me.

Don't ISP's already have this power through their own individual Terms of Service? There really is no such thing as freedom of speech when it comes to private businesses (even here at CHU). When you sign up for Internet service through an ISP, you are voluntarily giving up certain freedoms (including freedom of speech) when you click on "I Agree".

As far as I know, this is just making it so that ISPs will be held liable for damages done by piracy on their networks (done by their users) which is a huge incentive to crack down further on those actions.

Sony did a move extremely similar to this not too long ago where if you use their PSN service, you give up the right to sue the company (all complaints must be handled by arbitration, not the legal process). Not many people realize just how much legal leverage this gives Sony when a situation does arise.

as far as i see it all they are doing is finally going after people who are ILLEGALLY DOWNLOADING AND SHARING COPYRIGHTED FILES
anyone who actually buys what they download wont be affected nor as the link stated stop new development of future products if they have legally obtained the copyright which is the same as ch encoding their trainers to each user to prevent ILLEGAL SHARING so only the guilty need to feel worried
to put in perspective imagine you owned a pie shop mmmm pies but anyway you sell a pie to a customer for a dollar mmmm cheap pies
then they copy your pie a thousand times and standout infront of your shop and offer the copyed pies for free wouldnt that **** you off wouldnt you want them stopped or would you be happy to be bankrupt aslong as evertbody got your pies free or not
ACTA offers protection to big and small now if someone gives ch trainers to h4xor or other pirates they can be not just banned from this site but actually punished by the law its a win win

I guess ACTA is not only affecting to those who are involved in copyright infringement, but seems to affect the freedom of speech that all of us have. Here Neo7 has made a great point, but what's the use of the internet if ACTA is going to police all the blogs and portals where we express our opinion? Earlier I read about cases where people were caught just for joking about the President (IIRC).

And if ACTA is just going to maximize and put an e-dictatorship on the internet...I guess we should stand against such a draconian body.

you can still express your opinion aslong as it doesnt break local laws relating to slander or threats towards others pretty much what we expect from people everday we interact with why should the fact you are faceless on internet give you the right to do it
