Stronghold 3 Message Board  

I just installed the game from Steam and it is in French... although I took french in college I am certainly not fluent does anybody know how to configure the language support in this game. I could not find it it options...

I found these entries in the 3DGAME.ini file in the steam directory.

AppId = 47400
Language = "english"

[Settings]

PlayerName =""

Maybe it might be different in your INI file? If so tey and change it to the above settings. Hope it works.

There was a problem with steam and language. This should be fixed now and you should be able to select it in steam. Just right click on you game in the library. press properties, and there you can select language. Hope that it helps

I came here to update it was actually a packaging error from steam. As another poster said I was able to update my game by getting a forced push that contained the English language package.

After playing it through a few missions, gotta say, I'm disappointed. For the amount of time they had to make this, the level of polish and features just isn't there. Its too bad because I was a huge fan of there other games. And this would be acceptable if it was released within 12-18months of Stronghold 2 but it wasn't; and I'm not referring to graphics which are adequate.

I'd wait and see what happens as far as patches if your looking to get this. Maybe wait for a sale if you've got the patience.

Yeah, I seriously have no idea what Firefly is thinking they can pull. Honestly, the game is a dumbed down version of Stronghold 2, and the graphics are maybe slightly better. How the hell can a peasant with a pitchfork knock down a stone wall? Why doesn't said wall protect from archer fire? No skirmish mode!? Ugh. I'd avoid the game: this is coming from someone who ignored the flaws of every previous installment in the franchise.

And thinking on it, I do know what Firefly is thinking. They have Stronghold Kingdoms - Pay 2 Win MMO. Honestly, they could never patch SH3 and it wouldn't impact their company too badly.

No skirmish mode, no AI in MP. Guys cutting down stone walls with halberds... This is not Stronghold anymore.

People on the Firefly forums are demanding their money back because the game adverts stated the the game has Co-op modes.
Naturally, Steam doesn't do refunds, and the adverts no longer state Co-op as a feature.

A patch is coming tomorrow, I believe. But I seriously doubt it will redeem this game in any possible way.
