*sigh* This is getting out of control. Origin is yet another Digital Download Platform that is being shoved down my throat. I wouldn't care if I used these platforms to download games, but I usually buy the retail discs. The only time I use these DD platforms is when I start a game.
I've got THREE of these platforms on my PC now. Of course I can't uninstall them because some games require them to work. I know why the developers are doing this, but it makes me so mad. We shouldn't be punished for being legit gamers!
True, and it is not like it truly does anything, pirates bypass it quite easily. So truly a waste of time.

The thing is, if EA hadn't gotten so high and mighty (about not sharing their profits with anyone else) - Steam would probably be the only client retail games would require, barring MMOs and such.
I love Steam myself - got all my friends and all my games, which get nifty automatic updates. And wherever I go - a non-Steam game, or even that horrible outdoors place, I have community with me (with the new Steam mobile stuffs) so I can stay in touch with my posse of e-bros.
It's nice. It's improved considerably since the HL2 launch/CS1.6 days - which is what Origin seems to be ripping a page from and using as the basis for their "new" EA Download Manager.
My good ol friend DABhand, Knows what he is talking about. Now there is games that can use Origin e.g. The Sims 3 But it dose not force you to use it tho. I dont care if I have to use Origin or Steam or some other to get my game. I love the series and am still getting it! I just hope EA dose not **** it up like they did with C&C4 and DA2. Now I only have cd's of games I really want on CD or the collectors edition and then again al put the code into steam So I dont touch the cd or dvd.
But it does force you to use Origin. Retail of Battlefield 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur required it to run.
