    A desktop is a much better investment for gaming then just get a slim profile laptop for everyday stuff.

    I would also recommend investing your money in a desktop for gaming and smaller for none gaming. It's ALLOT more power for the money.

    If you really cant hold back though from buying a gamer laptop, DO NOT buy Alienware and DO NOT buy MSi.

    thanks for the tips wont a desktop be a lot more than a laptop? i don't have a massive budget as i dont want to be skint for a month lol, i just thought a laptop would be cheaper, i'll be mainly playing WoW and Runescape as they are my favourite games. But if a desktop will be about the same as a laptop then i'll definitely look into it

    Usually, a laptop with sufficient capacity to play today's games will cost considerably more than a similarly spec'd desktop machine. The space constraints, heat issues and power limitations all contribute to this.
    With a desktop, when your graphics card is old and grumpy, you simply pop in a new one. Much less expensive than replacing your laptop in a simlar situation.
    If you MUST go with a laptop (perhaps you need it portable for work?), then I suggest you have a look at Asus.

    the portability is always a bonus, not vital for work as i'm at a desktop all day, but i could get a work laptop, but no games are allowed on it and i see what you mean with graphics cards etc. but unless the price difference seems to be a considerable amount then i guess i'll have to go with a desktop, the last laptop i had was sony which was actually really good, but i sat on it and broke the screen , and when i looked into getting it repaired they wanted £200-£250 for a new screen! so i thought it'd be better to just buy a brand new one

    I just bought an HP laptop with;

    -4gb RAM
    -640gb Hard Drive
    -Intel Core i3 2.4ghz Processor
    -Intel HD Graphics card (which is actually pretty good)
    -WiFi enabled

    for only $499.99 (USD)

    It was well worth the price. I love this thing.
