RAGE is an interesting concept, but the game was released in a terrible state to be sure. The bugs and graphic glitches in the game are very well documented as it is, but frankly, the number of bugs in the PC version are excessive to the point of being inexcusable. With or without the trainer, the game continues to crash and be unresponsive. It's ridiculous. I'd tell anyone looking to get the game now to hold off for the moment - it's not "there" yet. In fact, I'd honestly recommend that anyone wanting to get this game should wait till it goes on sale or something because frankly, if you ask me, it's not worth the launch price.

I just wished that ID had done a better job of polishing up the game before releasing it. Right now, the game on the PC is an embarrassment - texture streaming issues, crashes and multiple bugs point towards a game that was rushed out with more concern for deadlines than for the satisfaction of the many game fanatics out there.

That said, it's an interesting concept and gameworld and I hope that game developers don't let up with creating new IP. Polish it up and they will LOVE you for it, ID.

Right now, apart from the said graphics issues, my major problems stem from the game hanging constantly when transiting from one map to another - "RAGE has stopped responding" How often have you guys had that message?

LOL! Maybe that's their way of extending the playtime of the game! I guess that when they named "RAGE" they really wanted the whole experience to be synonymous with anger...

We should all just rage at RAGE.

Game has been playing flawlessly for me in terms of crashing, it had the screen tearing from the lack of vsync but if you just use the Nvidia control panel (assuming you use nvidia i'm sure ati has similiar options) it fixes that issue right up. there's still obvious graphical flaws but nothing to hinder gameplay, least in my opinion. Good game so far, but agree not worth the launch price that was paid for it.

My guess is that you probably have an ATI/AMD graphics card. If so, THAT and not the game is your major problem. ATI drivers have been buggy for the 15 years I've used them and still are today, obviously. My game does crash on transitions however I blame the trainer and nothing else. Other than that I love the game. It reminds me a lot of Far Cry 2. Lots of driving.

I only have 3 small things to point out.
    1. There was a small patch the other day no-one seemed to notice that causes the trainer to lock the game up between zones.
    2. There was a major patch today that added VSync and texture caching options if you haven't already done it yourself.
    3. If you haven't looked at my thread, do so:

I don't know if the patch made any difference but the video drivers that had been released didn't much for me. I ended up having to physically editing the game files to get it to work properly. The John Carmack had the audacity to blame PC gamers as a whole for the different builds they have for the issues on top of blaming AMD and Nvidia for the graphical issues. I reminded myself that my issues were all stemmed from the game files. John Carmack might want to rethink what he says in the future, after all companies don't stay in business long when they bash their customers and investors.
