Its not that difficult, takes a bit of practice to use your space and S key for taking tight corners.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

I know. I'm only middle aged, but after breaking both hands in different places over a 20 year Army career, I'm not as coordinated as I once was. It would be nice if the developers stopped to remember that not all of us have the reflexes of a 10 year old anymore. It looks like another 60 dollar loss on a game that ought have been able to play, even if it is on the easy settings. I am thinking I ought have taken the wife out to dinner and a show, instead.

I hear that, racing car games are the death of me, yet 5 years ago I could clock them

Drive:SF, my wife has barred me from it because it frustrates me..

Man I hope I can actually play this and haven't wasted money, I don't buy many games, but I bought this one in support of ID.

The races aren't rally all that difficult. Also, you don't need to place first in every race. All the races are for (for the most part) is to generate the revenue you need to acquire guns, armor, shields and other upgrades for you cars. So, you can keep coming in last place in every race, yet you'll still earn the revenue you need to upgrade your vehicles (though, not as much as if you come in first).

All you need to do is win a few races, enough to buy either a minigun or a rocket launcher, then after you get that, you can go to the bartender, Sally and take her job. She tasks you with killing bandits, each proof of kill, gives you 1 race certificate. I managed to get all upgrades for my cars just by using the mega items cheat option when I had a proof of kill, I got 99 tickets each time.

Dang, I wish I had thought of that! Although the bandit kills are pretty easy to get anyway.

I didn't think the racing was all that hard. I'm also not terribly good at racing games in general, so this didn't require some sort of keen instinct on braking, cornering, and acceleration out of the apex or all the jive talk. Generally the race track isn't terribly different from the roads to and from other towns, which are more like roads and less like 'wasteland' if you compare it to games like Borderlands. The driving itself is simplistic without much hassle with flipping vehicles or getting stuck in bad locations.

I just wish the engine sounds were a little better.

watching my mate race was painful he was like arhhhhhhh noooo, and when he gave up after a few tries i jumped on and then won, hes was trying to use the mouse to steer, but i also agree that a controller is better for the races, i have to laugh a bit cause hes not a mega gamer but he buys all the good games
