Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Message Board  

So I purchased a premium member account only to find out you guys don't support the retail version?! Very disappointing, and that's putting it mildly...

Why are you guys only supporting the steam version of this game? What's wrong with the retail version?

Due to piracy, I bet.

From my understanding of previous explanations the retail version wasn't supported because of the DRM that it used while the steam version didn't use DRM at all. so they stuck to the simpler version.

Again this is my understanding based on what was said in other topics about this issue. For most coverage support you should have bought your copy through steam then registered the key to Origin. 2 Copies for the price of one.

I have 11 games on origin, not 1 one of them was bought from EA or from a retail store. All steam purchases hat i registered to Origin. and have had no issues with using this method.

Sorry to necro post an old thread but i am just wanting an official word on this,

I've literally just bought the game yesterday:
Link as it was on sale in my local store for £9.98 and just read through now that you stopped support of the retail version [possibly due to DRM issues]


As far as i know the last patch they did removed that drm so it should be open now and i'll admit as a lifetime subscription member i am a little peeved about the fact i cant have a little enjoyment in this game without REPURCHASING it on steam.

If you guys have completely dropped support then is there anywhere else i can grab something to enable me with the same kind of options that the steam based trainers do?
I am no good at value editing myself so i dont even want to try and do stuff manually in game.

I am an unlimited member and would greatly appreciate a trainer update for Bad Company 2 ver.795745 (retail version). I never heard of 'Cheat Happens' being a 'Steam' shop until now.
