Hello,

Just wondering if anyone is working on a gamesave with 100% or something?

I'm currently at 53% so working hard, also doing the side missions where ever they unlock, most of the challenges.

Trying to find all the ID/ Facts and Weapon Mods.

If anyone has a save with like 80% or something, then please share and we could help each other.

    Thank You!

I don't think the savegames can be shared. They appear to be tied to the online account.

they can be shared, but you need to make sure you get the dialogue box with "steam cloud found conflicting files, do you want to upload or download the files" then you select upload, and then you got your new saves in the game. Took me 2 hours to get it working, had to change the appid and make some files read-only. but it´s not impossible.

your save data is located here: Steam\userdata\XXXXXX\91310\remote\out\save

where 91310 should be your current appid, but when you change it, make sure your files are in the folder with the new appid.

Actually you may not need to trick steam cloud, you might just want to disable steam cloud for your game (right-click menu).... it worked with my first save game, but save_1 wont work, it just goes currupted :/

I can't get my saves to work properly either. I tried to do a rollback after my current save was fubared, but it just said it was corrupted. How do I get this to work without fooling the cloud? I have it disabled for the game, but it didn't work.

    Ah right, thank you.

I know there is a gamesave editor out there.

Hopefully there is a PC version, because I know there is alot off Xbox 360 versions.

Maybe can edit to have all kit or something.

I found a fix in the Steam forums:
You need to close steam, delete remotecache.vdf (located in the games userdata folder) and then restart steam. When you run the game a popup should appear asking you to either download the cloud files or upload the local files.
You have to have steam cloud turned on for Dead Island for it to work. It worked for me and I'm back to playing. Thankfully...I hope they fix this problem soon...

I think this is what you mean...

I looked in the "Program files (x86)-Steam-userdata-(not posting my user number)-91310(which I believe is the number Steam gives this game), and there is that file there. Next you say I have a choice to download the cloud files or upload the local files, but you don't say which to do... I assume I should download the cloud files. Is that correct?

I don't want to lose my level 50 Purna character and all her stuff!

    Okay.

Well can someone make a gamesave and send it to me.

Do not even have anything on the save, just want to see if I can get someone elses gamesave to work with my own profile.

So just create new game, first level save and upload.

I shall see if I can get the game to work, and then post back to you.
Send me file via PM with uploaded link.

If it works then I will share my gamesave with you all, which is 71% and I cannot play right now, because all of a sudden the gamesave won't load, crashes to desktop.
