I've been counting down the days to release, but I just noticed it's a damn leap year... an extra day.

It's funny to go to sites like RPGWatch and see all of the hatred for ME3 because of ME2 (and all of the rants on the second game), who come across as a bunch of uneducated elitist morons, and then come here to see informed and passionate discussions on the subject from both sides. It's great how a site dedicated to cheating has a far better group of people than a site dedicated to the love of RPG's.

Anyway, to answer the topic... yes. I have never looked forward to a single game in my entire life more than ME3. Especially the ending. I've read that BioWare themselves have said that a lot of people are gonna be ****ed at the ending, which gives me great hope that it's not going to be a fairy tale everybody-lives-the-bad-guys-die ending.

My take on the hatred on those sites... I think that's cause those who cheat tend to relax more to enjoy the actual story being told rather then to get annoyed by mechanics they don't like...

With the help of the coders of CH, we avoid those annoying mechanics of dying or running out of ammo

At any rate... that's my way of playing games, first run will be for the story!

[Edited by Seagon, 2/21/2012 5:50:19 AM]

If it was just about the mechanics I'd at least understand it, but they hate on EVERYthing. Bleh, anyway.

Its called be giant cry babies. Thats what they are. I mean I played ME1 n ME2 once without cheats and once with them. I mean I could not see any issues but then again. I am not one of those that are nit picky. I have looked at those types of sites and said things I have liked and you then feel like your in the middle of a German 88 Artillery barrage.

Yeah, when they changed the ammo system over from being heat based to a more traditional type of ammo system I took it in stride, because they actually gave a reason in-game for why it had been done.

But that is how people are, they expect some kind of vaunted perfection in every game. I think many gamers now-a-days have become too jaded.

I agree. Those RPG sites are full of Know-it-all/Noob/Trolls IMO.
They cry about how the mechanics of the game changed or how there's not enough ammo...BLAH,BLAH,BLAH.

I have played both Me1 And ME2 with and without cheats.I had fun and no problems what-so-ever either way i played.

In fact i'm loading up ME2 right now on my PS3 to play again in honor of ME3.

Haha, I couldn't have put it better myself than you guys have.

On ammo, I kinda prefer heat clips to just waiting for your weapon to cool down. It adds more strategy to the game due to having to use your ammo sparingly/accurately, though there's so many clips lying around every area you rarely run out.

The biggest complaint I hear is that it's become a shooter rather than an RPG, but the simple fact is, is that BioWare have never sold ME as a solid RPG. Hell, most of the things I've read straight from BioWare have referred to it as a game with shooter than RPG elements. Ah well, as you say, there'll always be complainers. And as I've pointed out before, the complainers will always seem like the biggest percentage, but that's only because everyone else is too busy enjoying the game.

I like the shooter better anyways. And I hate that by RPG people think that it means 3rd person view. Just because something has 3rd person view does NOT make it an RPG.

I don't care what they sold ME as, all I care is about ME 3 and the ultra pwnage I aim to bring to the Reapers.

Though I'm a bit interested about how things will work with the save imports since the previous versions of ME weren't originally for Origin (lol).

    Ayy lmao

Right I talked about the saves before I think.

As with Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3 will allow the player to import their save file from the previous game, carrying over their decisions from both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, totaling over 1000 variables. As Mass Effect 3 will import decisions not just from Mass Effect 2, but the original Mass Effect as well, some of the player's decisions from Mass Effect that did not have impact in Mass Effect 2 could potentially have an impact in Mass Effect 3.

If Commander Shepard died in the player's Mass Effect 2 play through, the player will be unable to import their save game. Mass Effect 3's story is a continuation of Shepard's story and if Shepard died in Mass Effect 2 that death is considered final. Similarly, any squad mates who did not survive the suicide mission at the end of Mass Effect 2 will not return in Mass Effect 3.

A player importing a save from Mass Effect 2 will be able to change both their appearance and their class at the beginning of Mass Effect 3.

To me the game has been always more of an Action with some Role Playing in it. No matter how you do it an RPG can be in any view. Just preeminently that RPG's are done in 3rd view. But then again anything with much control in the game via dialogue and consequences could be classed as an RPG to.

Serv covered the features of importing saves pretty well, but if you mean formats, ME uses its own save format which isn't tied to the platform it's being played on (located in My Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect #, though you probably already know that).

So you can make a save in ME1 using the retail version, import that save into ME2 on Steam, then import that save into ME3 on Origin with no problem.
