Damn do I hate reading all the stuff I have to from a book. I'm at my computer a good chunk of the time so this would highly benefit me. Plus my screen monitor is 23 inches of 1920 by 1080...all that can work well with education as well as gaming (not to mention I have a secondary screen though not as big).

I can't read for long periods from a computer screen. I always printed out pdfs of articles and chapters I received.

It's a nice substitute, but for some reason I often find i'm uncomfortable sitting at the computer screen actively trying to concentrate on something. With the advent of the Kindle and other e-readers, you should have the best of both worlds though, curl up in a comfy chair with the reader/read when you're out and about and get it up on the app when you're sitting at the computer. I've seen a fair few textbooks in the kindle store too which are interesting to browse through.
On a side note, it's annoying screens are seemingly always manufactured 16:9 now! I miss 1920x1200!

I can imagine that for some people it would be great! I spend long periods of time on my laptop and stuff anyway, but I always found it a bit of a pain to read a lot of text on the screen. My eyes won't focus on it for long.

The background needs to be dulled a little bit to enjoy reading on a screen. Like Nevermore made the text background for the posts a bit of a duller color rather than pure white (which is what causes the strain).

Also same reason why the default font color in command prompt is a duller shade of white instead of pure white.

I prefer reading from a paper. Computer doesn't give you many sitting positions and it hurts my eyes when I'm concentrating.
