id like to say it COULD be a graphic issue aswell. In some games on older comps ive had, where i was at max settings the mouse was sluggish, til i reduces settings and then it sped up. generally its about the anti aliasing or shadows , or was for me. but i suspect it dpeends on the card.

just a thought. probably wrong but still

Could be a number of things, but check the mouse settings both in game and in the control panel.

Some people think they can have a bog standard USB mouse and then set the mouse to hardware mouse in game, not realising that is for the more expensive mice with programmable buttons etc.

Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

might be a stupid idea, but have you tried reducing the "mouse precision"?
it's kinda a combination of smoothing and acceleration, and i guess if you set it too high, the mouse feel might get all weird.

Thank you very much, after I tried everything that I could think of your fix hit it right on the button. now I can play without getting killed all the time for being too slow on my movements lol
