Whenever I use the trainer for this game it causes it to lag up. It is only when I activate the trainer and does not lag when its not on.

could it be the extra processing power it takes to run the game with the trainer, if not, there's another thread in the DNF topic about using cheat codes, that might help if you want to play with cheats but without the trainer.
