Is there any entry related to the trainer exe? What security software do you use? Have you created a scan exclusion for the trainer exe and launched it with admin rights?

Just downloaded the game on Steam, launched our trainer with admin rights, launched the game, activated the trainer pressing F1 in the game's main menu and enabled the options while in the game - tested on Windows 10 Pro x64 (v1809) with Windows Defender enabled and scan exclusion for the trainer.

No entry for the trainer. I am using MalwareBytes and Bitdefender, and have put scan exclusions in both for the trainer, and launched with admin rights.

The one thing you did differently than me is you enabled options while in game, I enabled them while in the main menu, so I will try that.

(EDIT) Tried that, still crashed. Next step is to totally disable MalwareBytes and Bitdefender, uninstall and reinstall and see if that works.

You are actually using 2 of the most notorious security products combined when it comes to our trainers.
I suggest that you uninstall MBAM clean and complete (not disable it as it's pointless), create a scan exclusion for the trainer in BD's AV module, whitelist the trainer exe in the ADVANCED THREAT DEFENSE module (or disable it prior to launch our trainer and enable it back after your gaming session) and probably disable the SAFE FILES module depending on the location the trainer is stored.
