Got this from this website www.gamefaqs.com/boards/995452-mass-effect-3/58730036

Probably got beat here, but I'm gonna post it anyway.

Got my new Game Informer, read the ME3 article. Game starts with Shepard on Earth, effectively on trial in regard to the events of Arrival, and in the middle of the trial, the Reapers invade. Prologue involves Shepard's escape to the Normandy, and off to start finding those allies, fighting Reaper troops (husks of all the different species) the whole way.

Confirmed squadmates: Liara, Ashley/Kaiden, Garrus (if he's alive) and... James Sanders... That must be the guy from the trailer, I don't remember.

Speaking of which, there's a screenshot of Ashley with her hair down, and she actually looks hot. Don't have a scanner, so wait till someone with one turns up.

Confirmed to appear, but not guaranteed as squaddies: Wrex, Mordin, Legion, and Anderson. Obviously, if they live.

The game will by default feature a "previously on Mass Effect" comic to make decisions with if starting from scratch.

The Illusive Man also plays a prominent role, and Cerberus is out to kill Shepard. Reason why is unknown at this point.

The RPG elements are being beefed up, not going back to ME1, but giving more freedom with the character skills. Skill trees will be larger, and powers will evolve several times instead of just once, offering even more freedom. Weapons are ME2 style, with a set list, but mods make a return, not in the ME1 style, but allowing you to swap out different parts such as barrels, scopes, and so on, which effect both the weapon's combat performance and its appearance.

All classes can wield all weapons unhindered now, but will have limited slots to carry them. Only the Soldier can carry all weapons at once. Probably means Adept, Engineer, and Sentinal will be limited to two, and Vanguard and Infiltrator will have three.

Also mentioned: The game will have numerous endings, some good, some bad, and who you have in your squad and which allies you recruit can have a drastic effect on which are available.

That's basically the gist of it, except for the sidebars filled with stuff everyone already knows.

That's a pretty awesome setup. Shep is on trial for the outcome of the Arrival mission and then the Reapers attack. As for TIM going after Shepherd, I kinda had a feeling, Cerberus would show it's true colors. They had an ulterior motive (not sure what it is) for ressurecting Shepherd other than to defeat the Collectors. I hope Miranda is back in some form in ME3 along with Tali. If Miranda is back will be interesting to see where her loyalties lie. If they bring back Tali, I sure hope we get to see what she looks like finally under that mask....lol. It all sounds awesome and ME3 is just going to be so EPIC. I loved ME2, one of the best games of all time IMO.

I'm sure they will bring back Tali, I mean you have to bring her back. Right

Can't wait for the game to come out, definitely getting their collectors edition. ME2 is so far my best game ever.

I read this and it kinda annoys me. Well, that's not entirely true. It's exciting to get any news, but knowing you spent 90% of ME2 gathering your team and doing their missions, only for them to disappear into cameo's? (and not even all of them by the sounds of it). I know it's probably due to technical issues (such as what if party members died on some players games, how do you replace them?), but still.

Maybe they'll (the ones who survived - everyon in my case) stay on the Normandy but as NPC's? That'd be a good compromise.

I really hope ME3 doesn't re-use the same formula though, i.e. gathering a team and doing their personal missions. Ignoring the fact that it'd just feel like the same stuff over again, it'd be kinda stupid visiting a deserted base to blow it up, or going off to visit the flotilla to deal with a small group of Geth in the middle of a galactic scale invasion/extinction.

Personally, I think it'd be kinda cool if the game was basically about survival, rather than victory. I mean, the Protheans were more advanced than humans (and any other race) even if they too were based off Reaper tech, and they were still wiped out. So how about the story is trying to find a way to win, realising you can't, so the second half of the game is just about finding a way to survive and save as many people as you can in hiding somewhere, and/or find a way to warn people in the same way the Protheans tried with the beacon, except one that works.

Somehow I think finding a way to wipe out the reapers would be along the lines of Deus Ex Machina, which I think will kill the ending.

I just bought the May issue of Game Informer magazine and read the extensive article. I think you will be happy with what they have planned for the final game. It was worth the 6$ just to buy the mag for this article since details on the new game has been very sparse so far

If they removed the team from ME2 as possible squad mates, I am not going to buy it.. For god's sake, how can anyone remove Miranda...
