im a Christian and my sister as of the last 2 years has been giving my crap on a weekly basis i buy her food give her gas money and buy her video games and she has only said thanks to me like 4 times in 2 year i feel that she thinks shes entitled to too these thing my question should i just keep giving stuff to her or should i stop?

Yep it's always better to give, but she should be more appreciative. Let her know how bad it would be if you stop I guess...

That's a misinterpretation of the golden rule. If you interpret it that way...then why are you only doing good things for your sister and not everyone that you meet on the street?

The golden rule basically means to not screw around with people's stuff. Don't be a jerk or kill people...ya know? Those kinds of things.

But as for your sister if she does not know how to show appreciation and believes that she is entitled to it all then stop giving her that stuff altogether.

Stop giving her things. You would be doing her a bigger favour by teaching her to appreciate it.

i believe the actual saying is "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I don't think it applies here, if you're your sister's legal guardian, you're legally obligated to provide food and shelter until she's at least 18, i think, but stuff like video games are a privledge and if she doesn't appreciate it than she can get a job and start paying for that stuff herself, that's my two cents anyways.

i live with my mother and sister at the moment my sister does what ever she wants when ever she wants she parties alot i had a great job but am now on unemployment still looking iv spent like 500 bucks on her and now going to stop giving her stuff thx all for advice
