Shogun 2: Total War Message Board  

Im pretty new to this site, but iv got the game Shogun 2-Total war and im trying to download the trainer to help myself out with a nice pile of gold. But as soon as i click to download the trainer it tells me to open a paint file, that my computer wont recognize nor open and then the download stops. any suggestions? or am i just missing something? any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance

no ideas? it is continously failing to download based on paint not recognizing a file..

Disable/uninstall all AV, firewall and other security software. Download Winzip (www.winzip.com) and use it to open/extract the trainer .exe file.

i dont have winzip because it costs some amount of money, i do have 7zip which is supposed to be a compatible alternative. I believe all my AV/Firewalls are off and it still will not download. It says that paint does not support such a file. Please help?

Your file associations must be messed up. Open Winzip first, then load the zip file with it.

Right Click > 7-Zip > Extract Files

7-Zip does not change file associations immediately. To fix that, you have to Right Click then select Open With > Choose Program then choose to select a program yourself. Click on Browse then navigate to the 7-Zip folder in Program Files. Then click on 7zFM.exe. Make sure to check "Always open with this program".
