I'm now stuck on a mission where I have to destroy the alien spore machine. After taking out all the machines, I've no info on my next objective. Being running around the area finding for an exit.

I had a bug like this after i detonated the explosives it did not tell me were i was to go next untill i ran around trying to go backwards.

I tried to retrace back my steps and still stuck ..

Try using the binoculars ('B' on your keyboard), it usually tells you where you need to go.

yeah this game has a bad habit of not telling you where to go.

just load up the vizor (b), and look around. then try to tag (f) the objective. usually it'll show you then. sometimes it won't lol
