I tried playing with out the trailer, still crashes. Total War seems to be going downhills. This happened during Empire Total Wars. I stopped playing for 3 month before starting again finally they had enough patches to fix that.
Send your "thank you" to SEGA for that... Rome and prior TW games were properly supported and worked (to this day Rome is arguably the best and most functional TW game), but that was Creative Assembly back when they were still free, from Medieval 2 onward the Total War series has been a continuous beta-test... And that is specifically because SEGA bought CA and chose to stamp out games before they are really ready.
Although it's not fair to call it a beta-test really because those are FREE and done with the expectation that feedback will be acknowledged, responded to, and problems found would be addressed and remedied. SEGA will have none of that, they will do just like with Empire and fiddle around just enough to have a vague appearance of support while working on another "Stand alone expansion" like Napoleon was to Empire, and basically give a giant middle finger to everyone who bought in early.
For heaven's sake, they broke the game with their "patch", and even beyond that they knowingly disabled anti-aliasing because "it wasn't ready"... Doesn't that mean that the game isn't ready? Anti-aliasing is in no way a game breaker, I'd happily play without it, but AA is very commonly considered a given with games today. Even if your system can't sustain the load in a TW game, AA is quite frankly a mainstay in the graphics option menu... And yet something so obvious was left out until it can be patched back in, it begs the question of what other qualities of a finalized product were purposely left out in order to meet an artificial deadline posed by SEGA for fiscal reasons rather than giving a rats ass about the quality of the product.
I have been doing some bug testing and it only occurs when i use the infinite movement... i played a whole game without it and no problems... 5 times testing with infinite movement have always met with crash after usage(Even after i disable it before i end turn) Yet i can start up, not use the movement and use everything else and no crash
I think so too... or at least it's one of the contributing factors to instability...
This is NOT a knock to CH or the fine work of their trainer-makers, it's simply a quirk in the code that doesn't like being forced to march more/further than it's supposed to go.
It will look like everything is fine, but when you change turns, one of the other clans seems to go nuts and causes a crash, for me at least. Mind you, I turn it and all of the cheats OFF after usage and prior to changing turns.
