Is there a way in the game to save your brother carver from being killed?

Carver:
1) Leave him behind -> join the Templars
2) Bring him along -> die
3) Bring him along with Anders -> become/join Grey Warden

Same with Bethany, except she got taken away to the Circle if she's left behind.

If I'm mistaken, die from what? the beginning? the deeproads?

Okay I must be more clear in my question. Is there any way to prevent Carver from being killed at the begining of the game by the ogre?

Every time I play that part of the game as soon as the ogre shows up a cinematic plays with Carver charging at the Ogre and being killed.

That is a definite no. If you play as a warrior/rogue, Carver dies. Play as a mage, Bethany dies. No exception.

Okay so what you're saying one of them has to die at the begining of the game. Thanks for the info.

Play as a female, Bethany dies

Play as a male, Carver dies.
