At this point, I've stopped producing Calvary. I roll up with a good mix of troops leaning towards Calvary and the enemy Yari Ashigaru eat them up.

Yes, definitely changed from past TW games. In past i used to roll with all Calvary and absolutely obliterate everything in my path...not anymore.

I like that. Cavalry will be what its supposed to be a mobility based unit. If you want to win a stand up fight infantry should be the weapon of choice Have you tried taking a few cavalry units and micromanaging them a bit more. Get an enemys spearmen engaged and then charge the cavalry in from behind? Always used to work wonders for me in rome

Actually, I have tried this. They made the AI smarter. About half the units engaged will turn around to face the calvary

game is excellent new xp and ranks on genrals is excellent additon and corse all looks gr8

but i donno if its a side effect of the trainer or just the AI knowing its the most effective unit But the past 4 armys aive fought they are like 80-90% archers and there freaking humping me

I've learned that archers in multiplayer - at a low level (1-3) are almost completely useless with small army compositions. I tend to focus on Katana Samurai and some light cavalry.

The same is true for early Bow Ashigaru in campaign. The AI can field very large armies of them for almost nothing. Problem is, they do exactly that.

Cavalry are bawss. Use them to either soak up enemy fire, or if they don't bite, bug their flanks. If you do charge an enemy unit with cav, the only unit I would keep in combat with cavalry would be an archer unit. Anything else will slowly overpower your cavalry in single combat. Use them as shock troops and charge, retreat, and repeat.

Sometimes, you have to flush strategy down the toilet and just ****ing charge them with all your infantry. Archers have no morale. When you do this to a large group, instinct will tell you to split your army to spread their fire - don't do this! If morale is low, splitting your army is a death sentence.

When besieging a fort full of archers, I find it's helpful to bring a couple units of fire mangonels, or whatever they're called, cause they completely outrange archers and demolish their nice walls.

Another strategy is to send your archers first in a siege, they're useless inside. Send them up to soak up arrows, then start scaling the walls with Katana Samurai first.

Furthermore, your general works wonders for morale when scaling walls. When you're scaling the walls, and hopefully have engaged enemy archers, bring your general up right below the wall for the morale boost.

Lastly, in the case of a siege only, split your army. It'll force him to split his archers. You can then choose the side of the fort you want to assault, or constantly redeploy to keep your opponent doing the same.

OMFG!!!!! TRAINER HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!! HOLY ****!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!
