Well, this game may have some very stale romance options, but I think that some of them are possibly

Hah, are you kidding? I love it. It just makes Merril cuter to me. Don't worry, after time dating Hawke, she'll be a lot less naive.

i have picked a male "Hawke" and i am looking for romance, but i think my game has different plans for me.
the game lets me flirt and talk with guys and does not let me talk with girls . almost like 5 flirt options with Fenris and Andres.
has anybody faced something like this?? 🤔

Yes,it happens in the begining of the game alot,you just have to choose not to flirt with the males and for instance when in conversation with anders,he will ask "Am i making you feel uncomforatable?"
Just choose yes and he will back off.

You can't really romance aveline just flirt with her a bit.
As for isabela and merrill,you can romance both of them but,isabela is incredibly easy to sleep with but, very difficult to romance.

Apparently there is a possible three-way option with isabela and merrill,which of course iam looking into!!!

You can in DAO. I haven't been able to in DA2.
Although a ship in a bottle was given to isabela from me,but,it was automatic.

You get specific gifts for your friends, and you do it when you go visit them at their respective places, like Isabela and Varric in the Hanged Man. You can only get presents during certain quests or buying them at certain places or times. Once you miss your chance at a present, you miss it forever that play through. Here's a complete list of gifts for companions. I did them as Gift Name, Where it is/Quest it's in, and which Act of the game.

Carver/Bethany- Tobrius's Doctuments(Carver), Portrait of your mother. Both found during Birthright.

Aveline- The Shield of the Knight Herself, Offered and Lost, Act 2

Varric- The Tethras Signet Ring, Trinkets Emporium in Lowton, Act 2.

Anders- Tevinter Chantry Amulet, A Bitter Pill, Act 2.

Merrill- Wooden Halla Carving, Ilen's Crafts, Act 2. Sylvanwood Ring, in the remains of the Thief Leader in A Murder of Crows, Act 3.

Isabela- Ship in a bottle, Blackpowder Courtesy, Act 2. Rivaini Talisman, Disused Passage, Act 3.

Fenris- The Book of Shartan, Lowtown elven alienage act 2. Blade of Mercy, Best Served Cold, Act 3.

Sebastian- Starkhaven Longbow, Repentance, Act 2.

You're welcome! Anyone want me to detail requirements for romances? Also a note, I forgot to put the gifts in for Carver/Bethany but I just edited it now to have that in there.
