Well, when I tried the trainer in game, it would not give me resources, power, super units etc, so, enough was changed that it has rendered the trainer inoperable.

Quite possibly because either Steam or the publishers are trying to overcome the use of trainers. There are no cheat codes for DOW2. Why they would want to do this I have no idea. I never play online and if I did I wouldn't cheat there. I see nothing wrong with it in regular offline gamming, however, and if the games which already seems to be leaning toward an entirely multiplayer games, goes in this direction, and the powers that be, fear trainer or cheats because of this...they have just lost me. I have bought every game these guys made on the War Hammer Series DOW and I like the old DOW 1 games minus Steam and a lot of others, I see added, a lot better. I did like Retribution, though. It was closer yet than anything they came out with to the old DOW 1 games and easily their best yet. If, however, no cheats or trainers will work I will treat it as I do all of the games of this type. I will write a bad report about it, then refuse to buy anything else they publish. No cheats, No trainers, No buy game.

Is this some sort of new behavior for the game publishers/developers? Changing nothing in the game just meddle with the memory allocation a little to p**s of trainer users/developers?

No company would waste money to patch a game simply to annoy trainer users and developers. That's a ridiculous and somewhat frightingly paranoid thought.

every effort was taken to make the trainer invisible, however leaving super troops on between missions, etc or at PRESS ANY KEY might cause scanners to crash game, so users should press numpad 0 between missions, at cutscenes, and at PRESS ANY KEY if they are having crashes there.
