I figured out what was causing the bug where the character isn't doing any damage to mobs. As soon as you "specialize" the character, that is when that character is screwed for the rest of the game. For example, for the warrior main character, if I choose Reaver. This applies to other characters as well such as Fenris and his fugitive specialty. Put any points into these specialized traits and the character does no damage to enemies.

*edit* I have to correct my previous statement. The bug only affects the main character and some others but not all. You'll just have to save the game and test each character out. Just remember not to use auto level, otherwise the points may be used on the specialties.

Having the same problem as some users here when player character is not dealing damage.
It happens when I choose to have any of the options 1-4 enabled.
Can someone point me to the location where the savegame files are located? Can't seem to find them anywhere... I want to send them to Pwiz. I made two savegames where everything works fine and the other where I'm far into the game and it doesn't work. Both made in same ingame location.

For vista saves should be located in your C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age 2\Characters\CHARACTERNAME

USERNAME should be the name of the user(windows user) who installed the game.

CHARACTERNAME should be the first name of the character whose saves you're trying to find.

Then all the saves are in the folder named saves. :P

The trainer crashed when it tries to authenticate with launcher. Worked fine if I start it after the core game started, though.
