Question for everyone who is a fan..

Just finished, ( have finished both games ).

I understand the storyline concept.. but exactly how does "patient zero" occur.. IE the first person to become infected in each scenario.. Does the signal just start causing mutations, or is it just a single infectee that starts the process? I can't seem to sift through for a clean answer.

there are books and 2 movies

deadspace downfall takes place before ds1
deadspace aftermath takes place after deadspace 1 but before ds2

idk about the book.

i only finished the game but i died a few times at the last boss :/
