i think it's just you, personally i always thought the securitrons in fallout 3 and here again in FNV looked more like like rip offs of the original lost in space robot.

For Fallout 3, the Sentry bots with only laser guns do bear some resemblance to the Robot in Lost in Space. As for NV the Securitrons look a little like the CL4P-TP from Borderlands, but I think that's just the wheel on the lower part of the robots talking. I think they follow a sort of 50s & 60s look of the future robots.
Meh, I just thought the whole shape and stuff was similar. They do have their differences but are distinctly similar.
Their shape is actually quite different. The standard CLAP TRAP has a deformed rectangular parallelepiped look, whereas the Securitron has oval shapes along with cubic shapes.
