Fallout: New Vegas Message Board  

When you cheat in New Vegas, are the Achievments getting blocked or can you get banned from steam using cheats?

I want to know because i'm not very positive for banned achievments.

Console cheats disable achievements.

Luckily this game wasn't made by freeking EA / Blizztard so you wont be banned for playing outside of there pre-defined box.

What do the achievments do exactly? Are they just there to make you feel good or what? I have Steam and they just show them. Anyone know? Thanks for your help!!!

They do absolutely nothing it is just a way to show off infront of your friends. The only thing you need to worry about is "in game" challanges which give perks and are not disabled while using console cheats. To see the challanges go to pip boy data misc and press R.

Ok thanks!! So they are just there for show. I thought you could buy DLC's and such later. But no they got to make more money than they need. So i can do pretty much whatever in the game and i don't get credit for it.

Nice one with the challenges. I will try to fulfill them and see what they have to offer.

None of my friends play this game so i have none to show off infront

I just hope the DLC's are not as short like before.

Although Bethesda was kind to make the last 2 semi-decent length to play, others like Mothership Zeta etc were very very short.

When I say the last 2, I would say Point Lookout was probably the longest. But even then it wasn't mind-blowingly long. Good wee story though.

well hopefully blizz will be the only one that stabs its users in the back for using cheats or trainers. There is no MP option in this game so there shouldn't be any logical reason for them to be upset. Esp seeing how you can pick up a few god mods now that make things much easier, even without cheats or a trainer.

i lost all respect for blizzard this month, hopefully obsidian/bethesda understand how stupid it is to ban legal users for something simple as "oh i cheated because i want to have MORE fun."
