the patch updates the geck, but for some reason may invalidate the current trainer. someone check.

well the encumbrance option didn't work then I crashed about a minute later.

Yeah, trainer's not working with the latest patch. Crashes on loading.

It didn't crash on load for me, but it crashed the moment I tried to leave the Prospector Saloon.
