You may have to click middle mouse button to target the enemy and show it's health bar. Enemies with this generally are easier to kill.

Press TAB to open Character view and see your values.

Just a heads up, the weak targeted enemies option can bug out after a while, causing enemies to go into an animation lock and not count as dead, which can softlock you out of a level. Bosses will no longer take anymore damage after the first hit if this happens too. I had to restart the game a few times to get it to go away, no idea what causes it.
