I was wondering if anyone else found the 1000000 money cheat rather high? It would be nice if it could be lowered to 100000 increments instead?

Ditto. I agree. The money cheat gives you megabucks that destroys the game. A nice 10k bump would help.

One work around has been if you abuse the "Numpad 3: Faster Building Creation" and over produce then the excess production is converted to money. So it adds a small increase couple hundred or thousand gold per turn with all your cities.

IMHO, the 1000000 money cheat is right and fine. When we use a trainer, it is in order to have a much easier game. I do not think it does destroy the game. Some of us like a nice and easy game. If CH condiders to modify itm could they please leave us the option. Anyway, many thanks for this great cheat.

The point of the post was not remove the money cheat as you seem to suggest, but to decrease it. It just means now that you would press it 10 times to get to 1 million if it was set at 100 000 gold. This way it would benefit those who want a smaller amount and those who want the larger amount of gold. I think many who use the cheat want a "nice and easy game", though why it was important to not make it dead easy is explained already within the thread.

hello all, i believe that the money option is a game breaking element. buy up all tiles, buy all soldiers, buy all buildings and so on.

it would be nice to keep the millionaire option. but for the more eserved player maybe a modest sum of 1000 rather than infinity would be more appropriate.

multiple option would be nice. eg:

    1000
    10000
    100000

    what do you think?

I really don't mind, just as long as it was much lower than 1 million.

I have found a trick, now since the trainer don't work on the new 1.0.0.62 version.

Go to: (E: is my drive, most likely it's C: on the most computers)
    E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Assets\Gameplay\XML\Units

Open the file: CIV5Units.xml and find UNITCLASS_MERCHANT

    Change: "[Cost]-1[Cost]" to "[Cost]50[Cost]"
    Change: "[Moves]2[Moves]" to "[Moves]70[Moves]"
    Change: "[BaseGold]350[BaseGold]" to "[BaseGold]10000[BaseGold]"

Save the file. Start the game, load your saving. Build Great Merchant in all your cities. DO NOT PRESS NEXT TURN.
Save your saving, exit the game, change the values in the same file back to the normal settings.
    Save the .xml file.

Then start your saving again, press next turn. And then move your great Merchants to the nearest City state, and press the "golden" button. Then you get 10.000 per Merchant you created and sent to a city state.

Of course, this number can be changed to millions etc, if you want much money now since the trainer is not working.

But remember, make sure to save and not press next turn, before you exit the game, edit the .xml files back to normal, and then open the game and your saving again.
Do not use the Zzzz function on units with 70 moves (or more) since it will take long time between each turn.
Remember that the unit only get the number of moves the first time after you have presses next turn, so if you is located far away from a city state, increase the number of moves.

If you press next turn before you have edit the file back to normal, all other player will build great merchants and earn much money. So please save and exit the game before pressing next turn after building the units.

Next time you need more money, use the same trick.
