I would stay with nvidia, but unfortunately it seems that all future classes of mother boards for AMD processors after my current one, seem to only support ATI crossfire since AMD bought out ATI, or merged with them or whatever, so crossfire it is.
Yes I had heard that about AMD. Also did you know that AMD has bought ATI???
So why not just buy Intel CPU's from now on that way you can stay with Nvidia, a supierior GPU manufacturer in my opinion.
i asked the salesman the same thing and he told me it would cost me more in the end to go to intel and keep my cards than it would be to go with an amd type mobo and radeon cards, plus i've already bought the mobo, ram, processor and a 1.5 TB to back up my current HD's

Well i can't argue with someone trying to save money. But in my case there are somethings I'm not willing to compromise on when I buy a new system so I just save for a very long time until I can afford exactly what I want.
I can't wait until I get my new system. it's going to have two Geforce 480's! Now all they ahve to do is build the thing and ship it.
I used to have an Nvidia GPU, but ever since I stepped over to ATI I learned what quality really means.
(or should I say AMD? I bet AMD would love that, too bad for them, damn ATI Killers. )
Hey I'm not sying this is a good thing but it's the new way of doing bussiness right? Instead of making a better product then the compettion or creating one from scratch to atrtact more customers and increase your own customer base why not just buy another company and aquire more customers that way. Personally I think it sucks making money that way but it's the wway thing are done now.
AMD bought ATI in 2006. It's time to get over it.
Just to show you how current I'm not. I just learned about ATI being bought by AMD just recently. But regardless I just don't like that kind of bussiness practice. The only people mergers are good for in my opinion is the investors and not the little guy working at the company.
that's some serious vram you'll have, i'll have 2 GB myself in my new system, i might get a new sound card too, since i think my current one is dieing.
and in the end, i'd rather have the amd processor, from everything i've read amd is better for gaming and that's primarily what i use my computer for.

Well whatever works best for you. For me I'm staying with Intel so I can continue using Nvidia GPU's
I also primarily use my machine for games. Although the interesting thing is I don't play them all the time. I have weeks without playing and just used it for things like music and the web.
But when I shop for a machine I have an eye towards getting the best available in terms of game playing.
