I believe the expression is “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”. Obviously Lionhead didn’t know this expression. What a sad letdown after Fable and Fable II. The game is far too linear now, the side quests are repetitive and the level up ‘Road to Rule’ is badly conceived. Fable II was a much beefier game with tons more expressions and varied quests. Don’t get me wrong, if you loved Fable II, you like Fable III. Still unique in it’s style and wit, but on the verge of being just another fighting game. Also, the new fart expression is hilarious. If Lionhead produce Fable IV, I just hope they resort back to the structure of Fable II.

Played it and, won on 360. The 360 version was a 5 in my view but a 7 with PC. This is WAY better on the PC Between the two a 6 Even though the console was the first release I'd only recommend buying it used for the 360. I just wish that the game was not so linear with the story, granted its better than most games that have come out recently but the overall story was short sighted and completely unoriginal. Yes there are choices but you only make choices when your king and your choices are not very good ones either. Good or Bad, Angel or Devil or the only way to be done and either wait to make money or just steal from everyone..... uh is that really choice? Not really. If they wanted to emulate a choice based system they should have done it, not give us an outdated way of progressing the story. I love it even more on the PC. Better graphics A better over all quality is what usually happens with a 360 to PC game but this feels a lot more smoother than the 360 with the controls (yes I'm using a 360 pad on the PC), movies and, audio. I know I know PC will always have better performance. Even my machine from 9 years ago runs this game smoothly and much better than the 360. But isn't it about time these companies move away from the unreal/dx9 based engines and move to something better. Yes the PC is always better but I was really hoping that the delay for the release was because they would make the PC DX11 at least. It wasn't so I can't give it a 8.
