GAME BASICS

Become Someone Else
Even more important than your weapons are your disguises. Virtually everybody you kill or incapacitate will leave a pile of clothes for you to put on. Throughout the course of the game, you can become a doctor, a hospital patient, one of several guides, soldiers, civilians, bellboy, and more. It’s much easier to walk with a weapon when you look like everyone else.

Walk, Don’t Run
When trying to pass an area disguised as someone else, it’s better to walk. Running may arouse a person’s suspicion, and if they think you’re up to something, they’ll call for backup and pull their guns, making your disguise useless.

Conceal Your Weapons
Unless you’re in an area where everyone has the same weapon, and you have a suitable disguise, don’t have your weapon in sight. Walking into a police station with an Uzi or kitchen knife isn’t the best course of action.

Become a Silent Assassin
In order to achieve the Silent Assassin rating, which rewards you with a special weapon, you must make sure to do the following:

- Kill the target, and only the target
- Kill the target with just one shot (to the head), or with a knife, fiber wire, etc.
- Don’t kill anybody else; if you need a disguise, knock someone out
- Don’t fire your weapon unless it’s at the target; even firing into the air for no reason results in you losing the SA rating
- Don’t raise more than two alerts
- Do not take any damage from enemy fire

That’s all you have to do. If that means taking one hour to complete a mission, so be it; there is no time limit to achieve the Silent Assassin rating.

Aim for the Head
As in a lot of games, one shot to the head will kill any unarmored foe. This is important if you’re going for the SA.

1 – This is your message box. Everything that happens will appear here. This includes when guards start looking for suspicious people, when you’ve blown your cover, when a target is escaping, etc.

2 – This is your health. When it empties, the game will enter slow motion, like bulletime from Max Payne. You will then have twenty seconds to kill four people. You must kill these people with one shot to the head. If you can do this before time expires, you will be given a sliver of life, and a second chance at continuing the mission.

3 – This is your alarm meter. The closer you are to people, the more you run, or doing any strange activities will raise the alarm. When it flashes black, you’re only slightly suspicious. When it flashes red, people will take notice of you. It is important to NEVER RUN when the meter is flashing red.

4 – This icon shows the weapon you are using, and how much ammo is left for that current weapon. The strip of bullets shows how much ammo you have left in the clip, while the number under that shows how many ammo you have outside the clip. If your weapon doesn’t have ammo, like a knife or pool cue, you will just be shown the weapon icon.
