WALKTHROUGH - THE TEMPLE OF PERSEPHONE

Walk through the temple entrance up ahead. View Screenshot The doors will seal off once Kratos steps inside. Calliope will appear in the distance and lead the way forward. Walk around the columns on both sides of this new room and open the --UNMARKED CHEST-- on the left side View Screenshot then the --UNMARKED CHEST (GORGON EYE [20/21])-- on the right side. View Screenshot Destroy the small pedestals near both sets of doors in this room to gain some extra red orbs - these pedestals are scattered throughout the set of rooms up ahead. View Screenshot

Walk through the doorway that Calliope went through then open the door at the end. Step into the next room. The doors will seal off as a tiger attacks then fire satyrs and soldier satyrs will begin to attack. View Screenshot Start pummeling the tiger with charge punches from the gauntlet of Zeus - each hit will stagger him so that Kratos can easily hit him again. Kill off the first tiger as quickly as possible then get ready for the second tiger. Fight off the fire satyrs with charge punches until the second tiger spawns then pressure the second tiger with charge punches until it is defeated. Finish off the fire satyrs with charge punches then defeat the soldier satyrs with charge punches. Don't be afraid to use The Efreet or Charon's Wrath since the enemies will release blue orbs - just don't use magic too often.

After the battle, enter the hallway with the two pedestals in the back of the room then break the pedestals and open the --UNMARKED CHEST (PHOENIX FEATHER [19/19])--. View Screenshot Find the hallway on the right side of the room then open the --RED CHEST-- and other --RED CHEST-- inside. View Screenshot Enter the hallway directly ahead with the stairs leading upward then kick through the door at the top followed by the next door.

Calliope will appear once again and lead the way. Notice the stone gorgon heads on the right wall. View Screenshot These will be performing gorgon gazes during the battle that is about to take place in this room. They can be destroyed with a few hits from the gauntlet or many hits from your blades of chaos. Run toward the first gorgon statue head then destroy it, destroy the next one as enemies spawn in the room. Soldier satyrs and harplings will attack in this area. Don't move past the gorgon heads that perform gazes - allow the enemies to come to you. Grab the harplings for one hit kills then fight the satyrs off with charged gauntlet punches or jumping Triangle attacks with the blades of chaos. The blades of chaos really work better in this area since Kratos won't have to move near as much to attack with them if he attacks in the air. The satyrs basically stand back and try to lure Kratos into the gorgon gazes, so just stand back and jump then attack them with Triangle attacks from the blades. Use Charon's Wrath to help damage the enemies quicker - don't be afraid to use all your magic here.

Break all the gorgon statue heads after the battle then kick down the door on the opposite side of the hall. Save your game at the --SAVE PILLAR-- in the next room. View Screenshot

CHASING CALLIOPE

Open the --RED CHEST-- on the left side in the back and --GREEN CHEST-- and --BLUE CHEST-- if needed. Kick through the next door then move up the stairs. Calliope will appear once again and step through a doorway before it closes. What is with her? Step into the room up ahead.

An Armored Cyclops will appear from the floor then harpies will enter the room. You can use Charon's Wrath to fully strip the armored Cyclops of his armors if you want. Attack the Harpies then grab them. When only the Cyclops is left, stand at one side and charge an Olympic Strike then unleash it as the Cyclops steps toward Kratos - rinse and repeat as you roll out of the way of his
attacks! It only takes three fully charged Olympic Strikes to defeat him with level 3 gauntlets. Two armored Cyclops will appear after the first has been defeated - Charon's Wrath really comes in handy here for stripping them of armor. They only attack one at a time so take each one down with charged Olympic Strikes.

Kick through the door in the background after the fight then run and open the --RED CHEST-- and the --BLUE/GREEN CHEST--. View Screenshot Return to the previous room then open the door to the right followed by the next door up the stairs behind it. View Screenshot

Once again, Kratos will enter a hall with gorgon statue heads to the right side. View Screenshot Take out the gauntlet then destroy the first two statue heads as enemies appear up ahead. The same type of enemies will appear just like in the last hall with gorgon heads - harplings and soldier satyrs. The harplings are very few in number this time but the satyrs are quite numerous, so be ready to use jumping Triangle attacks with the blades of chaos along with a few Charon's Wrath. Don't fully use up your magic gauge in this room since there is another tough fight up ahead before Kratos has another magic refill.

Break the gorgon statue heads after the battle then kick through the next door followed by the next door. Calliope will lead the way once again. Notice the --GREEN CHEST-- across from the current doorway. View Screenshot If you need some health then run straight toward that chest and open it, otherwise, get ready to fight the enemies in this next room as Kratos enters. Once Kratos enters this room two
armored minotaurs will spawn.

New Enemy: Armored Minotaur

Much like the armored Cyclops, these enemies are the same with or without armor. Use the gauntlet of Zeus or Charon's Wrath to strip them of armor then defeat them as you normally would. View Screenshot

Pick one of the armored Minotaurs then use Charon's Wrath to strip his armor as you pressure him with charge punches from the gauntlet. Roll away when he is about to attack then stand away from him and roll out of the way of his ram then perform charge punches on him as he recovers. Much like the Cyclops, these enemies will usually only attack one at a time even in groups of two. Soldier satyrs will appear after the first two minotaurs - you can easily get rid of the satyrs with the gauntlet of Zeus this time since there are no gorgon heads to worry about. One final armored minotaur will end the wave of enemies.

Kick through the door to the side after the battle then run down the hall ahead and kick through the next door. Step onto the lift then rotate the crank counterclockwise. View Screenshot Carefully look at the wall and watch for cracked portions of the wall as the lift rises. Stop the lift then break the cracked portions of the wall with attacks to fight harplings in the first two hidden alcoves - they give up red orbs so destroy them. The final cracked wall hides an --UNMARKED CHEST--.

Once the lift stops at the top room harplings will attack along with gorgon queens.

New Enemy: Gorgon Queen

Despite their blue color, the gorgon queen is much like the standard gorgon but they have a very slippery unblockable stoning attack. They will coil up then strike toward Kratos. If they grab your character, then they will instantly turn Kratos to stone. This move cannot be blocked - you must roll away from it. They still fall much like the standard gorgon. Hit them with charge punches from the gauntlet to defeat them quickly.

Grab the harplings to finish them quickly then use charge punches with the gauntlet to defeat the gorgon queen. View Screenshot Watch for the gorgon queen's grab attack where it will coil up - roll to avoid it. An armored Cyclops will attack after the gorgon queens along with another harpling. Use the --BLUE/GREEN CHEST-- after the battle if needed. Kick through the door on the right after the battle then open the --UNMARKED CHEST (GORGON EYE [21/21])-- and the --RED CHEST-- at the end of the hall. View Screenshot Run back to the middle room then open the door in the back and enter the next room. View Screenshot Calliope will lead the way once again!

THE GROVES OF PERSEPHONE

Save your game at the --SAVE PILLAR-- then open the nearby --GREEN CHEST-- and --BLUE CHEST-- if needed. View Screenshot Open the door that Calliope just went through to continue. View Screenshot Move up the stairs and enter the area above for a cutscene. View Screenshot

As Persephone said in the cutscene, in order to gain access to the Elysium Fields, Kratos must become pure and rid himself of his past sins. Stand in front of the tree to the left up ahead and press the Circle button to enter a sequence where Kratos must give up his powers.

Kratos drives his blades into the tree and >>RELEASES HIS STAMINA<< into the tree. View Screenshot While still holding onto the tree with his blades, Kratos !!RELEASES ALL OF HIS MAGICAL POWERS!!. He finally @@RELEASES ALL OF HIS EXPERIENCE AND HIS BLADES OF CHAOS@@ to the tree rendering his soul pure and his humanity restored.

Kratos now has nothing except his grab and guard. Go ahead and check your item menu to see that everything is gone. Persephone will confirm that Kratos is worthy to enter the Elysium Fields, so step through the portal on the left to enter the fields. View Screenshot
