The cups in star tournament are Rainbow Cup, Moonlight Cup, and Planet Cup. Rainbows Cups is the first, Moonlight is the second, and Planet is the last. The only difference in star tournament is that your opponets are star chracaters, too. In doubles, there are the same partners. Look above in the tournament section. 5. 2, 3, and 4 Player mode Select this if you want to play with your friends. You can also select star characters here (Note: If a character has not beaten the star tournament completly, they cannot become star characters). This is a 1 player game where you have to shoot back the balls that the pirahana's shoot at you. The only problem is, there is an opponet on the other side that TRIES to shoot the balls back. Aim your ball away from the oppnoet. If you win this, nothing happens. Just a fun, but tough, mini- game. 9.Special Games You can play special games here Short Game: Play a game to five points using special rules. Number of players:For single, you need 2 controllers. You can look at the Cheats & Hints on CheatHappens for codes to enter the tounament. Demo Mode:Watch computer playters play a game. 10.Tips on Matches How to shoot the ball: Hitting the ball is easy. Press A or B twice, and you'll hit it back. If you press A or B twice, you can do a more powerful shot. The A is a little curvy but can go quite fast. The B is slow, but is very staright. When it is your turn to serve, simply press A or B to throw the ball into the air. Then, quickly press A or B again. If you do it at the right time, a message will appear that says "NICE!". Nice shots seem to have a lot more speed. When you are up to the net, try to press A and B together (A+B). This shot will make the ball kinda straight and curvy, but it is VERY fast. Colors of the ball: No color: Only pressed A or B once. Yellow, orange: Pressed A twice. Blue: Pressed B twice. Purple: Pressed A and B together/A+B. Sometimes if you pressed A and B together, it may not be purple. It will be weaker and slower. Cross you fingers that it is ALWAYS purple. And always remember, if you are a star character, all shots are stronger. There are also different kinds of shots. You can also hold L while selecting a character and then press A. This will make the character a lefty. If the ball is away from you, you'll probably start charging up. While charging up, you cannot move yoyr character. Press Z while charging up to cancel it. See the instruvtion booklet pg. 13 for screenshots of this happening, and more details. While close to the net, a star may appear. Get into the star and press A+B. See pages 12 - 13 in instruction booklet for more info. In Bowser mode, you can use itmes. You can get items by hitting the ball through a colored box. Here are the items, press R to use them: Red shell: A red shell will home on an opponet, and stun them for a few seconds. Green shell: Three green shells will pop out. One staright, the other two will go other directions. These do not home into you ropponet, but if they hit an opponet, the shell stuns them for a few seconds. Banana: When you press R, your next shot will leave a banana peel on you opponets side of the field. If they silp on it, they will be stunned for a few seconds. You can hit them back to their side if they hit one to you, but be warned, they can also shoot back the banana peel. Mushroom: You will be a lot faster for a limited amount of time. Star: This will make your character a LOT stronger, so their shots will be stronger for a limited amount of time. Lighting: Lighting will come down and shoot all characters, besisdes the one who shot it, and make their shots weaker and slower. Beware, as the shott you teammates, too. Still aren't good?
