Long ago, there existed a kingdom where a golden power lay hidden. It was a prosperous land blessed with green forests, tall mountains and peace. But one day, a man of great evil found the golden power and took it for himself. With its strength at his command, he spread darkness across the kingdom. But then, when all hope had died, and the hour of doom seemed at hand... a young boy clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere. Wielding the blade of evil's bane, he sealed the dark one away and gave the land light. This boy, who traveled through time to save the land, was known as the Hero of Time. The boy's tale was passed down through generations until it became legend... But then... a day came when a fell wind began to blow across the kingdom. The great evil that all thought had been forever sealed by the hero... once again crept forth from the depths of the earth eager to resume it's dark designs. The people believed that the Hero of Time would again come to save them... But the Hero did not appear. Faced by an onslaught of evil, the people could do nothing but appeal to the gods. In their last hours, as doom drew nigh, they left their futures in the hands of fate. What became of that kingdom...? None remain who know. The memory of the kingdom vanished but it's legend survived on the wind's breath. On a certain island, it became customary to garb boys in green when they came of age. Clothed in the green of the fields, they aspired to find heroic blades and cast down evil. The elders wished only for the youths to know courage like the hero of legend.. That is the setting for the Wind Waker. This game takes place on an ocean with many islands and formations in it. You will meet many strange people and see many sights. But remember your mission at all times. Follow these steps: 1. Create a new file 2. Name file Link 3. Start file 4. Watch intro Here I will walk you through the entire game. I will help you as best I can to find everything there is to find and do everything there is to do in this wonderful game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 007 Outset Island ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The game starts with Link asleep on a tower. Soon you see Aryll come out of a house. She is calling for her "Big Brother" and looks around for him. Finally she climbs the tower and finds Link asleep. She tells you that it's your birthday! (How in the world could you have forgotten that?) She tells you that your Grandma is waiting back at the house. Better go see what she wants. Here you assume full control of Link. Climb down the tower and run down the dock. Follow the path and turn right at the first fork. Cross the bridge and talk to the boy in the middle. Then run straight at the edge of the rock and grab the blue rupee (worth 5). Then jump the next two rocks for a yellow rupee (worth 10). Finish crossing the bridge and follow the path. Take another right at the fork. Climb up the ramp and into the house. Climb up the ladder and talk to Grandma. She says some stuff and gives you...The Hero's Clothes! Pay attention to what she says about Orca as we will need to find him shortly. She finishes talking to you and then tells you to go find Aryll. Head back to the watchtower and talk to Aryll. She gives you her most prized posession for your birthday...The Telescope! Equip it by pressing Start and then pressing X, Y, or Z when the cursor is over it (I use Y). Now stand next to Aryll and use the Telescope to look at the red mailbox next to your house. Press up on the C-Stick to zoom in on the mailman (Quill) there all the way to 9x. Next look straight up into the sky. A giant bird has captured a girl! But wait! There's a pirate ship chasing it! Finally a cannonball hits it and the bird (you'll really grow to hate this guy) drops the girl into the forest. Aryll tells you that you should help her but that you shouldn't go in there without something to defend yourself with. Remember what Grandma said about Orca? Follow the path towards your house but stop at the one before it. Climb the ladder and talk to the guy inside. (This is hilarious) He says some stuff and all of a sudden there is an incredible racket from below and the guy's brain overheats. When he's done, read the pamphlets on the wall and go back outside. Go into the door below the first one and go inside. Talk to the fat dude with war paint on (Orca) and choose the top option and then follow this pattern. 1. Hit him once with the B button. 2. Do it 8 more times with the B button. 3. Hold down L and hit him with B. 4. Do it 8 more times. 5. Hold down L, hold up, and hit him with B. 6. Do it 8 more times. 7. Hold down B until your spin attack is charged 8. Do it again. 9. Pay close attention to this one. Hold down L to lock onto the man. Wait until the "A" on-screen goes starburst. Your sword will turn green and you will hear a noise. Hit A. You will do a parry attack. 10. Do it again. 11. Use L to lock on, then hit A to do a jump slash. 12. Do it one more time. When you are done he gives you...The Hero's Sword! Leave Orca's house and head down the path towards the watchtower and head up the sloping path instead of down towards the tower. When you get to the line of trees cut them down with the sword. When you get to the top, run across the bridge (don't stop or you will fall through the hole in the middle). Cut the grass for some green rupees (worth 1) and enter the cave. Welcome to Outset Forest. You will see the girl hanging from a branch. Run up the path on the right side of the room and drop down. Crawl through the hollow log for a red rupee (worth 20). When you come out you will meet your first enemy, an unarmed bokoblin. Kill him (with the sword of course) and climb up onto the ledge behind him. On top there is a fallen log (placed curiously like a ramp). Climb up it and drop down the other side. Two birds (kagarocks) drop two more bokoblins for you to kill. When they are dead, the girl drops down from her branch and you talk to her. You find out that she is a pirate named Tetra (after a big lug of a pirate comes tearing up). They talk and then run off without thanking you! (that's pirates for you). Link follows them and then you are outside. Aryll is standing on the other side of the bridge and starts to run towards you. Then that dumb shows up and grabs her! Link nearly runs off of a cliff trying to catch it but Tetra and Gonzo catch him. Soon you are back on the beach. Tetra is appaled at the fact that you want to come with them to catch that bird. At first she refuses, but soon Quill shows up and REALLY dumps it on her! She finally agrees that you can come if you can find something to defend yourself with. The shield in your Grandma's house will do nicely don't you think? Go back to Grandma's house and head upstairs to where the shield was hanging. What the...It's gone! Head downstairs and talk to Grandma. She will give you...The Hero's Shield! Before you head back to Tetra though we have a few things to do. By the way, press R when you have the sword drawn to use the shield. If you followed all of my above directions you should have between 30/40 rupees. Now go down and around Grandma's deck until you see a hole you can crawl through. Press R to crouch and then use the Analog stick to crawl. Once inside the hole press up on the C-Stick to switch to first person view. Crawl to the turn and press Left and crawl into the hole. You are now in the basement of Grandma's house. Drop down for your first chest! In it is an orange rupee (worth 100!). Now crawl back out the hole. Next grab the three pigs on the island (one is next to Grandma's house, one is near the guy who is kneeling down in front of Orca's house, and one is behind the house on the other side of the island) and bring them into the pen next to the house up the path from Grandma's. Talk to the lady there (Rose) after you bring each one and she will give you a 20 rupees each time. Now cut down the stand of trees behind your Grandma's house for 10 more rupees. Cross the bridge again and help the guy on the ledge cut the grass and keep any rupees you find. Now, back in the water in front of Grandma's house is an odd looking boat. Inside is an odd looking guy (Beedle). Talk to him and buy the Bait Bag (20 Rupees), 3 Hyoi Pears (10 Rupees each), and 5 sets of All-Purpose Bait (10 Rupees each). Now you can head back to Tetra. Talk to the little guy next to Tetra (the one with buck teeth) and listen to what he says (this is HILARIOUS!!!). Then talk to Tetra. Choose the top option and you will see a cutscene. Your adventure has begun! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 008 The Pirate Ship ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tetra is obviously badly mannered (being a pirate I suppose) as she can do nothing but ask you to stop being so "sentimental". Anyway, when you resume control of Link, drop down onto the deck of the ship and enter the door there. Walk down the stairs and into the door at the botom. As you walk in, Niko will talk to you and inform you that you are his underling and that he'll go easy on you if you do what he says. Let's oblige him. LISTEN CLOSELY to his instructions. Then use the switches to raise and lower the platforms. Be careful as they only stay raised for about a minute. swing from light to light and finally swing into the room on the other end. Here's how to control the rope: (A) Run and jump towards it to grab it. (B) Tilt up and down to swing the rope. (C) Press A to let go. This test is trial and error so good luck. Here's the pattern: 1. Jump straight ahead. 2. Swing straight ahead. 3. Swing back and to the left. 4. Swing straight ahead. 5. Swing ahead and to the right. 6. Jump ahead and to the left to enter the room. When you do it, Niko tells you that he is proud to have you as his underling. Go into the room and open the chest. You get...The Spoils Bag! In this bag you will carry: 1. Joy Pendants 2. Knight's Crests 3. Skull Necklaces 4. Red Chu Jelly 5. Green Chu Jelly 6. Blue Chu Jelly 7. Golden Feathers 8. Boko Baba Seeds When you grab it, Tetra yells to you that you have arrived at The Forsaken Fortress so we'd better go see her. Climb up to the crow's nest via the ladder on the mast and talk to Tetra. She shows you the Forsaken Fortress and devises a rather funny plan for getting you inside.
