The original name for the game was fire storm or something like that I think, but it was changed accordingly, since this game was based mostly on the first half of the events that take place in Code : Veronica. The game is good at what it was supposed to be, a fun fast paced shooter game, and it did pretty well for a shooter game in the arcades, thats when capcom decided to milk some more money from the arcade game and ported it over to the PAL and Japanese NTSC PS2's. Seeing as how it didnt do so well as a console game, it never made it to the US area's intact. But dont fret you guys, your not missing much. The basic premise of the game revolves around you playing as either Claire redfield, or Steve burnside, all you have to do in the game is get from point A to point B, find the key for the exit door, then head FOR the exit door, fight the end of level boss and head for the next mission. The game's idea was really simple, but there were several things that prevented it from becoming a good console port, first off it was meant to be an arcade shooters, shooters have never been THAT popular in consoles, sure there are some exceptions but this was not it. Secondly was the graphics, the game looked more like a polished up N64 version then being a ps2 game, that also was one of the faltering reasons. Thirdly, the game added nothing to the story of the series, which is why hard core series fans didn't appreciate it that much. Even the first Survivor game was more appreciated then this game, since it added some decent story to the series. You can only enjoy this game to the fullest if your using one of those Namo GUNCON 2's or if your in the arcade machine itself. Otherwise I'd say that this is a definite rental game, there's no point in wasting your money on this game. 3. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* _ ___| |_ ___ ___ _ _ |_ -| _| . | _| | | |___|_| |___|_| |_ | |___| !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* There wont be a detailed story section this time since there is hardly any story to the game itself, the game is basically the first half of Code Veronica played from Claire or Steve's point of view. So if you've played Code Veronica, your better off in the story department. Summary, Claire redfield continued her search for her brother after the Raccoon city incident, she was tipped by an unknown source about a Umbrella facility in Paris, she infiltrated the facility with precision but was caught, after that she was taken to the umbrella prison in Rock Fort island, the prisoners there were mostly used as test subjects. After some commotion, Claire is able to escape and shortly after she meets up with another prisoner and survivor, Steve burnside. The story kicks in from there, so there you go. 4. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* _ _ ___| |_ ___ ___ ___ ___| |_ ___ ___ ___ | _| | .'| _| .'| _| _| -_| _|_ -| |___|_|_|__,|_| |__,|___|_| |___|_| |___| !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* CLAIRE REDFIELD --------------- Claire redfield is the younger sister of the super heroic Chris Redfield and one of the only few survivor's on Rock Fort island, her story is truly explained in the real Code Veronica game, but to sum it in a short paragraph, Claire Redfield was one of the only survivors of the Raccoon city incident, after that incident, continuing her search for her missing brother, she was lead to an Umbrella Europe facility, where she was caught after she tried to infiltrate it, after that she was sent to Rock Fort island where all kinds of messed up stuff happened and in the end she eventually came together with her long lost brother, but if you really wanna find out what happened and what the real story is, go and play Code Veronica first, this game does not apply to the characters at all, only shooting. STEVE BURNSIDE -------------- Steve burnside is the second hero for this game and one of the only other survivor's along with Claire on the island, he is a young kid with a serious problem but he has his own reasons for what he does, like Claire his story is really put in code veronica, but here's a summary, Steve's father was one of the employee's for umbrella inc, but he was found while selling valuable information to a rival company, his mother was shot on sight, his father and himself were taken prisoner's on the island where they used prisoners as guinea pigs, but a sudden chain of evens leads to Steve's escape from the prison and his meeting with Claire, the rest is too spoiling so go play CVx. ALEXIA ASHFORD -------------- The only other *character* besides Steve and Claire in this game she has little to no role here, all she does is turn into one of the annoying bosses in the game, the rest is a mystery for anyone who's playing this before Code Veronica. NEMESIS T --------- Yes, im classifying him as a character, the Nemesis is well known to anyone who is a follower of the series, as the bad boy who chases you through out Resident evil 3, and he has set up his own reputation as the *best* boss in the entire series, for me atleast, now here he makes another appearance. Since this game is a side-story, it really doesn't count in the main series story line, he's just here to give you some real scares and make you run for the exits quicker. 5. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* _ ___ ___ ___ _____|_|___ ___ | -_| | -_| | | -_|_ -| |___|_|_|___|_|_|_|_|___|___| !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* You'll find that just about every enemy from Code Veronica has made it into this game, here's a little description of each with little info. ZOMBIES ------- These are your average run of the mill zombies, dont ever waste anything more powerful then your standard handgun on these, they go down in quiet less shots, so it shouldn't be hard against them. ZOMBIE DOGS ----------- The cerebrus we're used to in all of the games, they're quick but weak, nothing more then the handguns for these one's too. BANDERSNATCHERS --------------- They've got a really long name, and one equally long arm they can smack you around with, if you have played code veronica you have some idea of what im talking about, when up against them, keep away from the left arm since thats the long one and blast them as quickly as you can. HUNTERS ------- Just like before, the standard hunters from Code Veronica, fast and agile, these can be really annoying, shoot them quickly and swiftly. Dont waste time around them. LICKERS ------- These are the lickers we know and love from resident evil 2. Here they're really robbed off their prime, but still they're quick and will often jump attack you for quiet some damage, stay away from them for the most part and take distant pot shots. DRAIN DEMIOS ------------ The some what look like lickers but they're actually completely different, they were featured in RE3, and they're quiet easier to kill compared to the lickers in my opinion, the same rules apply for them. SPIDERS ------- Not so hard in the usual RE games, they pose quiet a threat in this one because they're stronger then most normal enemies and they can run towards you even while your shooting, but the worst thing is that they can poison your character, really annoying. Shoot quick, shoot hard. That's all i'll say. BOSS STRATEGIES GIANT SPIDER ------------ This is the first and the easiest boss in the game, the strategy is really simple, and for the hell of it, dont use your stronger weapons on this one, the handgun will do just fine. Now from the start of the fight, maintain a good distance from the boss and keep a continuos stream of gun fire going, when the boss starts to rear itself up it means that its about to do a charge attack, at that time run for the other end of the area, simply put away from the boss, continue the handgun fire and you'll eventually kill the boss in a little while now wasn't that easy. SWEEPER ------- This looks like a hunter but its actually a sweeper, how do you say we deal with it ? .. the same way we deal with every thing else, shoot the blimey out of it, (im not British), you can find some more fire power to help you get through this boss in the crates at the corner if your hurting for some but if you'd had the grenade launcher, it would be more then enough to take this one out. General strategy calls for you to keep on moving about the area and keep on shooting at the boss, dont stay in one place for a long or even little time, and keep a really close eye to not get cornered by the boss, or else your mince meat. Continue the running around and shooting game and you'll be the victor in this battle soon enough. NOSFERATU --------- Alright, im pretty sure every one remembers this bad dude from the actual Code Veronica, his real name was Alexander Ashford and he was the father of Alfred and Alexia, now as for this battle, the general strategy is almost the same as you did in the real Code veronica, but without the sniper rifle, the trick is to hit him in the heart area, thats where his weak spot is, you may or may not have bander's in this area aswell, if they are here then take them out before you even start with the boss himself, after they've been disposed of, its the usual stuff, dont stand in the same place for too long and never let him back you out, keep on moving and shooting, like i said before, aim for the heart. You should have the shotgun of the grenade launcher from the previous area, use that on it, the fight wont be a long one and you should emerge as the victor at the end. ALEXIA ASHFORD -------------- Its all the same with all the bosses in this game, keep a good distance from them and attack them with your powerful weapons, Alexia will have 2 zombie dogs by her side in this fight, if you kill them that will give you a clear area to attack alexia from. But a new dog might appear in a little while so be quick on the attack, keep a good distance away from alexia because she can really be damaging at close range, use your most powerful gun like the grenade launcher and sooner, then later, the fight will be over, and you would have won. TYRANT ------ Alright, this is it, the final boss fight, the same rules as all the other bosses apply, except for one little annoying detail, sometimes if your too far away from this boss it will start running towards you and claw you while running, which is really bad i might add. When he starts running move around like a mad idiot to make sure that it doesnt hit you at all. Besides that the same firing and weaponry rules apply for this boss aswell, use your strongest weaponry at all times and maintain a good distance from the boss. Avoid being hit but dont avoid hitting IT. Soon the fight shall be over and the game will be finished as well. NEMESIS (Special boss) ---------------------- Allrighty, from whence the boss fight begins, start moving around pronto, it will have its rocket launcher in hand and one rocket from it will mean instant death for you, which is really not what we're looking for in this stage of the game, the best thing to do against this baddy is shoot while you keep moving around, just so that he wont get a clear shot off at you too, now this fight may seem very hard, but it can be finished with quiet ease, you just have to dodge the nemesis's attacks. But here's the thing, you wont be able to beat him normally, when the linear launcher pops out, but before that. 6. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* _ _ _ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | | -_| .'| . | . | |_ -| |_____|___|__,| _|___|_|_|___| |_| !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* Here is a list of the weapons you can find in the game, and small descriptions along with them. M93R HANDGUN ------------ This is Claire's default weapon, it fires quicker compared to Steve's default lugars but is weaker in power compared to them. Comes with infinite ammo so it should be used often, the best choice against zombies. GOLD LUGARS ----------- Steve's default weapons, unlike Claire's you can fire 2 shots at the same time, fire rate is slower compared to Claire's gun but the power is greater, so you can often use these guns with something greater then zombies too. SUB-MACHINE GUNS ---------------- Now we're talking, these are Steve's fastest guns, the ammo power is really small but the speed makes more then up for it, comes 100% loaded when picked, watch the ammo use or the 100 percent can vanish pretty quickly. SHOTGUN ------- No survival horror game is without a shotgun in it, you'll fire 7 shots before it reloads, the fire power is awesome but like it should, the reloading times are slow as hell, a fully loaded shotgun is a really good pick against stronger enemies. AK-47 ----- This is Claire's fastest weapon in the game, its almost similar to the Sub machine guns except its just 1 gun, the ammo count starts off at 100% like with the SMG's and the bullet power is almost equally weak, the speed makes up for the lost power. GRENADE LAUNCHER ---------------- Similar to the shotgun, its got real power in it, but the loading times are slow as hell, definitely not the right thing to be walking around with less ammo in it, a fully loaded one can be real nightmares for the undead. .357 MAGNUM ----------- The second most powerful weapon in the game, 6 shots can be fired before you have to reload, the power is super awesome but the rate of fire is a bit on the slower side, this is a must save for the boss battles. Nothing more, nothing less. LINER LAUNCHER -------------- Like Code veronica, this can only be accessed before the final boss fight starts, its got infinite ammo so you dont have to worry about the ammo usage, just blast away when you get this in your hands, doesnt contain the zoom feature from code veronica which is a real bummer, but oh well. End the game with this. 7. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* _ _ _ ___ | |_ ___ ___|_|___ ___ ___ ___ |_|___| _|___ | . | -_| . | | | | -_| _| | | | _| . | |___|___|_ |_|_|_|_|_|___|_| |_|_|_|_| |___| |___| !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* CRITICAL HITS : Critical hits make a huge difference in this game, when ever your aiming at something be sure to aim right in the center spot, critical hits will save you valueable ammo for your stronger guns and just kill the normal enemies quicker. LOOK EVERYWHERE : In this game, you will often see barrels or crater in alot of area's, that means that they're just hiding something behind them, dont hesitate in shooting any thing you deem suspicious, you may often find health items behind them or even some new weaponry. NEMESIS : Yes, it hurts, but if you run out of the allotted time limited provided to you then the good ol bastard we call nemesis will start to chase you through the remainder of the level, if by any chance that happens the abort all the sniping and item collecting and make a dash for the level exit because only one hit from nemesis is strong enough to kill you. Learn this well. DONT GET HIT : The health system of this game is just like all the other shooter games, so you do your best to avoid being hit as there are not many health items scattered around for you to use, now watch out for any sort of attacks, if you are surrounded by one or more enemies then only attack the one that is about to attack you first, they'll always attack one at a time. RUN n GUN : This is what you should be thinking when your up against the end of level bosses since nearly all the bosses can be easily defeated by the same method, you should not have much problem getting through this game if you can master the art of dodging the enemy attacks. 8. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ___| | |_| |_| |_ ___ ___ _ _ ___| |_ | | | | .'| | '_| _| | _| . | | | . | | |_____|__,|_|_,_|_| |_|_|_| |___|___|_ |_|_| |___| !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*(`'·.¸ ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)¸.·'´)*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!* PRISON GROUNDS -------------- Note : Allrighty, since this game is mostly an arcade game it is divided into rooms and area's, so each room or area will have its own small 2 or 3 line paragraph followed by a single blank line separating the area's so keep an eye out for that as well . Now read on. Right then, you'll start the game in the grave yard area, from the start of the game, learn the art of quick shooting, shoot the zombies that are in the surrounding area, shoot the boxes for some items of use and exit through the door. Now you'll come out in a room with a steel shutter, here you may run into a zombie dog, otherwise known as cerebrus, kill it and head around the corner, shoot the zombie here dead and make for the door, you may find another zombie in your path aswell, killing it is your choice. Your in a straight alley here, run down, before exiting through the door check the crates for some more useful items and also check the wall for a message written, after all this is done, exit through the other door. You'll come out in open grounds again, head for the house door, along the way shoot the zombies that come out of the graves, I'll ask you to ignore the other one's if you can, but thats your opinion. From here, you'll see a couple of zombies, shoot them all and grab the nearby key, after doing so exit through the door leading into the rest area. Now there's some work to do here, first off kill all zombies that you see here right now, now head for the shower area and when there you'll find a gem, take it. Exit back to the previous area. Infact exit back to the outside area completely. Once here, you'll see a hunter, if you picked up the grenade launcher earlier, shoot it with it and kill it, now make for the other exit leading out of this area, not the one we originally came from, but the other other exit. BOSS : GIANT SPIDER This is the first and the easiest boss in the game, the strategy is really simple, and for the hell of it, dont use your stronger weapons on this one, the handgun will do just fine. Once your done with the boss, the first mission will be over, congrats now wasn't that easy ?! did you encounter nemesis ? god forbid, but if you did, did you like it lol. Anyway, continue on for the next mission. ASHFORD MANSION --------------- You'll start this mission from the outside area of the mansion, now here all you have to do is gun every one and every thing you see, after some good shooting practice, head ahead and enter the door. You'll be in a hall now, here just blow up the crates and take the goodie's you find behind them, also before exiting take a peek behind the desk area and you'll find another one of those gem's this one is BLUE. Now take that and head through the door at the north end of this area. You'll come out in a straight type hallway, here just shoot down the spiders you see and enter the door at the end of the hallway. You'll come into a study room of sorts, here you'll find a bander and some more zombies, shoot the zombies off with the regular handgun but try to use something a bit more powerful for the bander if its available. After they're all disposed off take a look at the type writer, you'll find your second message. Now head back through the door you came. Here just enter through the door on the left side. You'll be in a library now, couple of more zombies here, dispose of them with what ever method you choose best, take a look behind the crates in this room for some more *help*. Now exit through the door at the other side of the library. You'll come out in another hallway, here you'll probably encounter a licker, take it down with your handgun if your good enough, now make to the end of the hallway, and enter the door at the right hand side. You'll come in some sort of a gallery, and there'll be a couple of bander's waiting here for you, take them out as quickly as you can if your down on the health department, check behind the crates, and take the key before exiting back through the same door that you came in here from. This time, head down further the hallway to the right and you'll find the exit we're looking for, enter through it and you'll run into the second boss fight of the game. Like always you'll start the mission in an outside place, some more zombies here along with a bander or two, take care of them, and exit through the door you see in front of you to enter the main area. In here you'll see various enemies, some doggies, and in a little distance you'll probably see a hunter and a bander singing along no thats not true. Either way, take out the doggies, search the surrounding area's for some more goodies, and if your not comfortable enough just skip the hunter and the bander, just make it to the door. In here, you'll see a licker straight up, kill it and continue down the hall, head down the right pathway, along the way you'll see some more zombies, take care of them and exit through the door at the end of this hallway. Here, simply just shoot the spider, head up the straight and once your up it, take the door at the right. In here, immediately head for the right side door, you'll come in a room with a type writer, kill any and all zombies you see in here and check on the type writer just for the hell of it, and you'll find the third message. Now exit back to the previous area. This time take the other door, the third one I might add. In here, you'll see some more zombies, keep your distance and shoot at them quickly and swiftly, take the key thats in this room, now exit back out of the door, back to the area with the staircase. This time head through the only other accessible door, it shouldn't be hard to find. If you are attacked by some zombie dogs along the way out, take care of them ASAP. You'll come into a computer room now, take care of all the zombies you see in here and take the door to the right side out of here. Another singular path, kill all the zombies you see here, before exiting check the crates for the hell of it, now exit through the faaaaar right door. In this area, you'll see some zombies and a bandersnatcher, kill it first and then take care of the zombies with the normal killing methods we've been using, after they're all disposed off take the door on the left side out of here. Now here you'll see some familiar sights, oh well, kill the bander in this area, and after its dead take the key that it drops for you, so nice of it. Now make your way back through the previous few rooms, back to the computer room area. We're not here for anything more, just check the crates near the computer area's and you'll find another gem, this is the GREEN gem, now exit back through the door you came in from the computer room THIS time, I mean the hallway, not the courtyard area. Here just turn left, and presto, see that elevator, take it down. Once down it, you'll come in the basement area, you may find a weapon here, either a shotgun or a grenade launcher, take IT and exit out of the path on the right side, you'll be heading in for another boss fight so be on the ready for it. BOSS: NOSFERATU Alright, im pretty sure every one remembers this bad dude from the actual Code Veronica, his real name was Alexander Ashford and he was the father of Alfred and Alexia, now as for this battle, the general strategy is almost the same as you did in the real Code veronica, but without the sniper rifle, the trick is to hit him in the heart area, thats where his weak spot is, you may or may not have bander's in this area aswell, if they are here then take them out before you even start with the boss himself, after they've been disposed of, its the usual stuff, dont stand in the same place for too long and never let him back you out, keep on moving and shooting, like i said before, aim for the heart. You should have the shotgun of the grenade launcher from the previous area, use that on it, the fight wont be a long one and you should emerge as the victor at the end. End of mission.. PRIVATE MANOR ------------- This is the second to last mission in the game and as you'd expect the things will really heat up in this one, right from the start of the mission, in the tunnel you start at, nemesis will be after you like fly's after a garbage truck (ok that didnt sound good). Right then, at the tunnel you start, run through it like mad and shoot anything getting in your way faster then you can say "gun". When you reach the bridge area, run across it and make a dash for the door at the far end, you will be attacked by hunters before you make it inside so take care of them with anything powerful like the shotgun or anything you've got. In the next area, some more hunters, take them out quickly and exit through the other door here. You'll be at the docks now, here you'll see some bander's which need taking care of, do so and head up the stairs to the next area. Now you'll come to a small opening, there'll be stairs in front of you and atop them will be hunters and bander's, but thats not what we want right now, climb up the stairs quickly and make a dash for the manor door. Nemesis follows you !. Now in here, start heading for the stairs, and dispose of the crates in the middle of the way for some more goodies, also take care of the bander's you might find in here, now head up the stairs and enter the door which leads to the next hallway. In the bedroom hallway, take care of the zombies, and make your way to the tunnel, ignore all other doors for now, before heading inside take out a powerful gun because your going to need it. In the tunnel area, dispose of the zombies, and exit through the door at the end. Be prepared. Here you will have a sub boss fight, remember the first boss of the game, the big-ass spider, its back for another batch of butt whupping, but just to show how lazy I am, i'll just copy and paste the previous method ^_^. The strategy is really simple, and for the hell of it, dont use your stronger weapons on this one, the handgun will do just fine. Now from the start of the fight, maintain a good distance from the boss and keep a continuos stream of gun fire going, when the boss starts to rear itself up it means that its about to do a charge attack, at that time run for the other end of the area, simply put away from the boss, continue the handgun fire and you'll eventually kill the boss in a little while now wasn't that easy. Once the spider is dead, take the door behind it and exit into the next area. Now in this next area, you'll see some crates and some zombies, first take care of all the zombies in this area, next destroy all the crates and one of them will hold the item we seek, the PURPLE gem. Take it and exit through the door at the right hand side. Now you'll come out in another hallway, here shoot all the zombies dead first, then take the door to the left. You'll enter a room with a type writer and 2 bander's in it, take care of the bander's quickly as you can and then check on the type writer to read the next (4th?) message. Now exit back to the previous hallway. Once back here, take the final door and exit through it. You'll enter a bedroom now, you may find a grenade launcher here, kill the zombies first, take it then, then exit through the passage to the next area. Its another room, here you'll find a key, once taken you will be attacked by a hunter, dispose of it quickly and make your way back 2 area's back, to the hallway from where you entered the first bed room. Once here, head for the exit door, opening it with the key you found a little while ago, be prepared before you enter, cause there's a boss fight waiting for you. BOSS: ALEXIA ASHFORD Its all the same with all the bosses in this game, keep a good distance from them and attack them with your powerful weapons, Alexia will have 2 zombie dogs by her side in this fight, if you kill them that will give you a clear area to attack alexia from. But a new dog might appear in a little while so be quick on the attack, keep a good distance away from alexia because she can really be damaging at close range, use your most powerful gun like the grenade launcher and sooner, then later, the fight will be over, and you would have won. End mission.. AIRPORT ------- This is the really small final mission of this really small game, from where you start this one, blow up all the crates until you find the final gem piece, its the GOLD gem, what good will these do for us ? you'll find in a little while. For now, take the elevator and go through the final door to come face to face with the final boss of the game. BOSS: TYRANT (from CVx). Alright, this is it, the final boss fight, the same rules as all the other bosses apply, except for one little annoying detail, sometimes if your too far away from this boss it will start running towards you and claw you while running, which is really bad i might add. When he starts running move around like a mad idiot to make sure that it doesnt hit you at all. Besides that the same firing and weaponry rules apply for this boss aswell, use your strongest weaponry at all times and maintain a good distance from the boss. Avoid being hit but dont avoid hitting IT. Soon the fight shall be over and the game will be finished as well. BUT WAIT. NOTE : If you had been collecting all the gem pieces I was telling you to get through out this walkthrough, then the game will not be over just yet, oh no, now we HAVE to fight Mr. good old nemesis in the flesh. BOSS: NEMESIS Allrighty, from whence the boss fight begins, start moving around pronto, it will have its rocket launcher in hand and one rocket from it will mean instant death for you, which is really not what we're looking for in this stage of the game, the best thing to do against this baddy is shoot while you keep moving around, just so that he wont get a clear shot off at you too, now this fight may seem very hard, but it can be finished with quiet ease, you just have to dodge the nemesis's attacks. But here's the thing, you wont be able to beat him normally, when the linear launcher pops out, but before that. Do you know what happens to a nemesis when its hit with a linear launcher blast ?!. THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENS TO EVERY THING ELSE. NoW KICK HIS ARSE !. The fight will be over. ta-daaa...
