As you can tell from my user name, my name is Gamer364. This guide is designed to help players get all of the achievements (or trophies for PS3 players) in this game. This guide is really different from all of my other achievement guides I did in the past, because this is the first guide I did for an arcade game at all, and it includes a road map in the Achievement/Trophy Overview stage of this guide. I would go into detail with this game if I wanted to make long intros on you guys, and I know you came here for the guide, so I better get on with the guide already. Note: There are a couple of awards to get in this game as well, but as far as I know, it's for Xbox 360 players only (both of them are Avatar Awards). If your playing the system mentioned, then see Stage 6 for details. PS3 players need no apply unless updated otherwise. ****************************************************************************** | Stage 3: Achievement/Trophy Overview | ****************************************************************************** Achievement/Trophy difficulty (on a scale of 1 through 5, 5 being the hardest): 3 Number of Achievements (Xbox 360) 15 (with DLC) 12 without DLC Number of Trophies (PS3) 15 (with DLC) 12 without DLC Least amount of playthroughs to get all Achievements/Trophies: 7 (6 Characters and 1 final adventure, plus level replays) Number of Missable Achievements/Trophies: 0 Details: If you played the Dreamcast and/or Gamecube versions of the game before (especially the Gamecube version), you should have little to no problem getting 100% on this game like I did before I offically began writing this. If you never played either version of the game, You might run into some problems, but the game is still perfectly beatable. The only problems I see you having as you go through the game are the following (not necessary in this order): 1. Beating Mission A with Big (especially Twinkle Park and Emerald Coast) 2. Raising your Chao for "Chao's Best Friend" 3. Missions 53 (with Sonic) and 54 (with Tails) *DLC Only* 4. Getting all 130 Emblems for "The Perfect Adventurer" *can be minor* 5. Beating some of Mission A with Sonic (especially Twinkle Park) Get past all these, and you pretty much beaten the game with all of the Gamerscore/Trophies unlocked. Road Map There are plenty of ways to tackle this game, but here's what I did: Note: This Road Map assumes you bought the DX DLC of this game. Also, I feel like I'm actually telling you a story of how I got 100% on this game then actually giving you a road map. I'm sorry if this is the case. Finally, this road map assumes that you were playing the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game. 1. Sonic's Story When I first started this game my only option was to play as Sonic, so I selected him. I played through Stage 1: Emerald Coast, and I ended up unlocking Miles 'Tails' Prower as a playable character. Tails: Hey, don't use my whole name! Me: Sorry Tails, but the achievement/trophy used your full name. Sega's idea I guess. Anyway... One achievement down, 14 to go. What I wanted to do next was go directly to the Trail option and do Emerald Coast again until I beaten Mission A there, but I couldn't. I figured "OK I haven't beaten Sonic's story yet, and that's why I can't do that" and decided to countinue Sonic's story. As I playthrough Sonic's story, I ran into Knuckles the Echidna who wanted me to hand over (read: demand that I give him) my Chaos Emeralds. I ended up in a fight with him (which I won), then Eggman took my emeralds and I had to fight a boss (again I won). After that, Knuckles basicly kick himself for what he did, and he becomes a playable character for me. 2 for 15 achievements unlocked. I played through more of Sonic's story and wondered over to the casino area, where I came across Amy Rose, and she became a character I could play as. 20% of the achievments unlocked. I ran through more of Sonic's story, and after I beaten Stage 8: Sky Deck and took a platform to to the Ship's deck, I found myself in a battle with E-102 "y" (Gamma). After I beaten him (or it), Amy gets in my way and tell me to back off. In doing so, I ended up unlocking Gamma as a playable character. 4 of 15 achievments unlocked. Shortly after that, I ran into Big the Cat who having problems getting his frog Froggy back (yes, Big has a pet frog and he named it Froggy, no ******* joke). Anyway, I helped him out by taking out Chaos 6, and Big becomes playable. 1/3 of the achievments done. After that, I go on to beat Sonic's story, and unlock "Sonic the Hedgehog", making it 6 achievements unlocked out of 15. 2. After Sonic Story I went on over to the Trials option of the game, and noticed I can play all the stages again plus some of the Sub Games I unlocked. I playthrough all the trials (Mission B and A) then went on to Sub Games. I ended up beating those, and went on to play the Tail's story. As I playthrough the game as Tails, I ran across a frog that swallowed a Chaos Emerald and ran into the next Sub Game I haven't played before. Played through that, and went on to beat the game as Tails. I did his Trials, the Sand Boarding Sub Game and Missions and moved on to Knuckles. Warring: Don't do Mission B of the Ice Cap Trial before doing Mission 54 of Mission mode. If you do, beating that mission will be even harder than it already was. Learn the hard way if you must. I beaten his story, and did his trials and missions, then went on to Amy's Story. At some point of her story, I was captured by Zero (the robot chasing Amy through out her story), but got released by Gamma. After that, I came across a Sub Game that I don't remember play during Sonic's, Tails' or Knuckles' stories. I played the Sub game, and got a Warrior Feather. Note: If you want the Long Hammer as well, you will have to come back to the ship when it crashes (but not after you finish the game). Amy: Go back to the Ship, are you nuts!?! Me: You have to do that at the end of your story anyway, so what's the big idea? Amy *notices Zero closing in*: Look behind you and you'll find out the big deal really quick. Me: That thing doesn't chase you until the player go through your story, and you might have no choice but have Zero chase you. Amy: I would continue this argument, if that thing was closing in on me so fast *screams and takes off with Zero behind her*. Me: OK, that just happend. Anyway, I beaten her story, I went her Trials, her Hedgehog Hammer Sub Game (twice, because the Story forced one doesn't count for some reason) and I got the Sub Game Master Achievement. 7 of 15 achievements unlocked. Did her Missons, and now it's Big's turn. Seriously Big, fishing? Big: Sega made me like that, and I'm quite happy with that role. Me: Whatever floats Sega's boat I guess. Anyway, I beaten Big's fishing story, did his trials and missions, then last, but not least it's time for Gamma to take the wheel. Beaten Gamma's story, I can play as *spoiler* Super Sonic *end of spoiler* and boom, I unlock the "Super Sonic" achievement. More than 50% of achievements unlocked. Then I've beaten his Trials for "The Fastest and Strongest" and completed his missions for "Mission All Accomplished" bring my achievement unlocked total to 10. 3. Operation: The Adventurous Chao I decided to collect the emblems I didn't collect through out the course of the 6 stories I went through for "The Adventurer" achievement, then head on over to the Station Square Chao garden to start raising my chao. It took a long time, but I eventually unlock "Chao's Best Friend" making it 12 achievements unlocked out of 15. 4. The Perfect Adventurer and Metal Sonic The only thing left for me to do at this point, was to play through the final story, so I did that and unlocked "The Perfect Adventurer" (because I had 129 Emblems at this point). Then I went to the Trials option of the game, and noticed I could play as Metal Sonic and unlocked achievement for doing so. Looks like I'm almost done with this game, 14 of 15 achievements unlocked. Then I went through of its stages (which looked exactly like Sonic's Stages), and I unlocked "Metal Sonic Master". With 100% of the achievements unlocked, that's all she wrote. Summery 1. Played through as Sonic's story and beaten his trials and missions. 2. Went through the other 5 characters and did their trials and missions. 3. Picked up all unobtained emblems and went to the Station Square chao garden to raise my chao's stats (getting "Chao's Best Friend" eventually). 4. Did the final adventure to get emblem number 130 to unlock Metal Sonic. 5. Completed all of Metal Sonic's trials. Conclusion This game is not too hard to 100% this game, even for beginners. However, you may have the problems metioned in the Details explation part of this Stage. Get past these problems, and once you 100% this game, enjoy your achievements/trophies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Stage 4: The Game's Non-DLC Achievements and How to unlock them - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A. Miles "Tails" Prower Description: Become friends with Tails. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. This is the first achievement/trophy you'll unlock, no matter how you plan on tackling this game and Sonic is the only one who can unlock this. You'll unlock this after you beat Stage 1: Emerald Coast. B. Knuckles the Echidna Description: Become friends with Knuckles. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. Sonic and Tails can unlock this. After you've beaten Stage 4: Ice Cap (or Stage 3 for Tails) you'll find Knuckles in the Mystic Ruins Adventure field near the waterfall. Knuckles will ask you to (read: demand that you) hand over whatever emeralds you have to him. You and Knuckles will end up in a fight (which you will win), then you have to take on Chaos 4. Beat that boss, and Knuckles becomes playable. C. Amy Rose Description: Become friends with Amy. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You can unlock this as Sonic, Tails, or E-102 (Gamma). As Sonic, after you beat the Sky Chase Act 1 Sub game, you'll find amy at the area near the Casinopolis Stage. No need to do anything else there. As Tails, after you beaten his Sky Deck stage, you'll go up a platform where you come across E-102 (Gamma). Beat Gamma, and Amy becomes playable. I think you'll unlock the E-102 'y' achievement/trophy as well if you haven't already unlocked it, but don't quote me 100% on it. As E-102 (Gamma), on the Egg Carrier (after a flashback), he'll be ordered by Eggman to get the Chaos Emerald that's around the bird's neck. He finds Amy in a cage, and after she get friendly with him, he decides to let her go. That in turn will unlock the achievement/trophy. D. E-102 "y" Description: Become friends with E-102. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You can unlock this as Sonic, Tails, Amy, or Big. As Sonic, after you beat his Sky Deck stage, you'll go up a platform where you come across E-102 (Gamma). Beat Gamma, and he'll become playable. As Tails, after you beaten his Sky Deck stage, you'll go up a platform where you come across E-102 (Gamma). Beat Gamma, and Amy becomes playable. I think you'll unlock the Amy Rose achievement/trophy as well, but again don't quote me 100% on it. As Amy, after you beaten her Twinkle Park stage and get captured by ZERO, you'll find yourself in cage. E-102 (Gamma) comes in and wants her to give her the bird that she runing around with. Instead of doing that, she uses her charm on him, and gets let out. You'll unlock him as a playable character, and the achievement/trophy after that. As Big, all you need to do is to beat his Emerald Coast stage, and that's it. Note: I read that you can unlock this as Knuckles as well, but I never read how. If someone can say whether or not this is indeed the case, I update it and give that user credit. Update: You can unlock this as Knuckles as well. After the scene when a female echidna talks to the master emerald, Knuckles will find himself on the Egg Carrier. He decides to try to find a way out of the ship. As he does, he spots E-102 "y" and decides to follow him. That triggers the "E-102 "y" is playable" message (assuming you haven't unlocked him yet) and this will unlock. Thanks Tyler Collin (Xbox Live gamertag Tman20081) for the info. E. Big the Cat Description: Become friends with Big. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You can unlock this as Sonic, Tails, or E-102 (Gamma). As Sonic, not long after you beat Gamma, you'll find Big who's having problems getting his frog back from Chaos 6. Beat Chaos 6, and Big becomes playable. As Tails, after you beaten the Sandboarding Sub game and go through his flashback, you'll be treated to a cutscene where Big spots his frog and makes a grab for it. This scares the living daylights out of Tails, and he lets go of the frog (but not the Chaos Emerald). After the cutscene's over, he'll become playable. As Gamma, all you need to do is to beat his Emerald Coast stage, and that's it. F. Sonic the Hedgehog Description: Clear the Sonic story. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. All you need to do is go through all of his stages, and that's it. You'll unlock this after you beat the final boss (which for him it's the Egg Viper). G. Super Sonic Description: Clear all characters stories. Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. There are 6 character stories for you to beat (1 that's already unlocked, and 5 you'll have to unlock). Here's what you need to do in order to "clear" a story for a character: Sonic: Complete the Final Egg stage then defeat Egg Viper. Tails: Beat Eggman to the missle at Speed Highway then defeat him as Egg Walker. Knuckles: Find all emerald shards at Sky Deck then defeat Chaos 6. Amy: Evade Zero using the balloon at Final Egg then defeat Zero at the Egg Carrier. Big: Catch Froggy at the Hot Shelter then pull Froggy out of Chaos 6. E-102: Save your brother Zeta at the Hot Shelter then defeat E-101 Beta MKII. Completing all 6 of the stories will make you 6 Emblems closer to getting "The Perfect Adventurer" Achievement/Trophy, and unlock Super Sonic's Story. H. The Fastest & Strongest Description: Get Level A on all the Action Stages. Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: This one's a long one, so expect a lot of reading. In order to unlock trial mode for each character, you have to beat each of their stories. Once you've done that, you'll be able to replay the Action Stages again, this time for Missions B and A. For the most part, Mission B requires you to get 50 Rings and beat the stage, while Mission A requires you to beat the stage under a time limit. There are some exemptions however, which are explained where it applies. Sonic's B and A Missions are get 50 Rings and beat the stage and beat the stage under a certain time limit. Here are the trial missions for Sonic: Emerald Coast: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 2:00:00 Minutes Windy Valley: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 3:00:00 Minutes Casinopolis: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 5:00:00 Minutes Icecap: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 4:00:00 Minutes Twinkle Park: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 3:00:00 Minutes Speed Highway: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 2:30:00 Minutes Red Mountain: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 3:00:00 Minutes Sky Deck: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 5:00:00 Minutes Lost World: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 4:30:00 Minutes Final Egg: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule Mission A: Get to the Capsule in 4:30:00 Minutes Mission B should pose no problem for even Sonic Adventure beginners, so no guide for those. Mission A on the other hand can cause trouble for you. My advice for those, is to use the Spin Dashing technique (it's actually faster then runing for some reason), and make use of any and all shortcuts you know and/or learned in the stages. Sonic's Upgrades 1. Light Speed Shoes* Found At: Station Square Where: In the Sewers after Windy Valley What it does: Makes you do a Light Speed Dash if charged up and near some rings. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Yes 2. Crystal Ring Found At: Station Square Where: In the hotel after picking up the Light Speed Shoes the earilest. What it does: Cuts time down on how long it takes to charge up for the Light Speed Dash. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Yes 3. Ancient Light* Found At: Mystic Ruins Where: In the hotel after picking up the Light Speed Shoes the earilest. What it does: Allows you to Light Speed Dash on enemies as well as rings. Recomended: No Used Often in story: No *Story Forced Tails' B and A Missions are get 50 Rings and beat Sonic to the Capsule and Beat a Faster Sonic (with the exemption of Stage 5, where Robotnik/Eggman takes Sonic's place). Here are the trial missions for Tails: Windy Valley: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule before Sonic Mission A: Beat a Faster Sonic to the Capsule Casinopolis: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule before Sonic Mission A: Beat a Faster Sonic to the Capsule Icecap: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule before Sonic Mission A: Beat a Faster Sonic to the Capsule Sky Deck: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Break the Capsule before Sonic Mission A: Beat a Faster Sonic to the Capsule Speed Highway: Mission B: Get 50 Rings and Get to the Missile before Robotnik Mission A: Beat a Faster Robotnik to the Missile Again, Mission B should pose no problem to you, so no guide there. Mission A is basicly the same the Story forced Missions, Sonic/Robotnik (Eggman) is faster is all. There are green loops that give you a boost as you race, so use them as well as any and all shortcuts you came across as you played. Warring: If you have the DX DLC downloaded, don't make the same mistake I made, and do Icecap's Mission B before Mission 54 of Mission mode. I ended up doing just that, and got punished for it, and got punished bad. Tails' Upgrades 1. Jet Anklet Found At: Station Square Where: In the canal behind Twinkle Park (there's an opening there) What it does: Makes you fly faster. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Yes 2. Rhythm Badge* Found At: In a flashback Where: To the left of the entrance to the Echidna Temple when you are in the past. What it does: Allows you to spin faster (and pretty much forever). Recomended: Yes and No Used Often in story: No *Story Forced Knuckles' B and A Missions are get 3 pieces of the Master Emerald without touching the hint balls once and do it again in under 1 Minute (with the exemption of Stage 5, where you have to do it in 2 Minutes or less). Here are the trial missions for Knuckles: Speed Highway: Mission B: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald without using hint balls Mission A: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald in 1:00:00 Minutes Casinopolis: Mission B: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald without using hint balls Mission A: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald in 1:00:00 Minutes Red Mountain: Mission B: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald without using hint balls Mission A: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald in 1:00:00 Minutes Lost World: Mission B: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald without using hint balls Mission A: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald in 1:00:00 Minutes Sky Deck: Mission B: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald without using hint balls Mission A: Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald in 2:00:00 Minutes Mission B poses no problem. Just make sure you don't touch the hint balls, and your golden. Mission A sounds and looks impossible, but it's actually pretty easy to do them all in under 1 Minute. This is what you do to easily beat the time limit: Look for the emerald pieces, but don't actually collect them. That way, you know where they're at, and after you restart the mission, it's pretty much a race to beat the clock. Don't exit the stage, or the emerald pieces with change due to the random nature of the stages with Knuckles' story. Knuckles' Upgrades 1. Shovel Claws* Found At: Mystic Ruins Where: A cave near Tails' House What it does: Allows you to dig. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Somewhat 2. Punching Gloves Found At: Mystic Ruins Where: On a cliff above Big's house in the jungle. What it does: Allows you to use the Maximum Heat Knuckles attack. Recomended: No Used Often in story: No *Story Forced Amy's B and A Missions are get 50 Rings and beat reach the balloon and reach the balloon under a certain time limit. Here are the trial missions for Amy: Twinkle Park: Mission B: Get 50 rings and get the balloon Mission A: Get the Balloon in 2:00:00 Minutes Hot Shelter: Mission B: Get 50 rings and get the balloon Mission A: Get the Balloon in 6:30:00 Minutes Final Egg: Mission B: Get 50 rings and get the balloon Mission A: Get the Balloon in 2:30:00 Minutes Amy's mission A's are not hard to beat. Just keep runing through the stages, while doging Zero (hit him with your hammer if you have to) and your golden. They're perfectly do-able without her upgrades which has been listed below. Amy' Upgrades 1. Warrior Feather+ Found At: Egg Carrier Where: You'll come across the Hedgehog Hammer Sub game after you leave Amy's cell. Beat Eggman's score to get it. What it does: Allows you to use the Hammer Spin attack. Recomended: No Used Often in story: No 2. Long Hammer Found At: Egg Carrier Where: After it crashes (but not before clearing her story) go back to where you found the Sub Game and beat your old score. What it does: Gives you a longer hammer that increases the duration of your spin hammer attack (and possibly alow you to Hammer Jump farther). Recomended: Somewhat Used Often in story: Somewhat +Kind of Story Related Big's B and A Missions are get a 1000 G Fish and Froggy and get a 2000 G Fish and Froggy. Here are the trial missions for Big: Twinkle Park: Mission B: Catch Froggy and a 1000 G fish Mission A: Catch Froggy and a 2000 G fish Icecap: Mission B: Catch Froggy and a 1000 G fish Mission A: Catch Froggy and a 2000 G fish Emerald Coast: Mission B: Catch Froggy and a 1000 G fish Mission A: Catch Froggy and a 2000 G fish Hot Shelter: Mission B: Catch Froggy and a 1000 G fish Mission A: Catch Froggy and a 2000 G fish In order to catch a 2000 G fish, you'll more or less have all the Lure Upgrades. Once you do, all I can tell you is this: Good Luck, you'll need it. Big's Upgrades 1. Power Rod+ Found At: Mystic Ruins Where: At Big's House under the bed. What it does: It won't break so easily. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Not really 2. Life Belt* Found At: Mystic Ruins Where: Near the Ice Cap Stage What it does: Allows you to float on and sink into the water at will. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Somewhat 3. Lure Upgrades 1-4+ Found At: Depends Where: Depends What it does: Allows you to catch heaver fish (and catch fish easily). Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: No *Story Forced +Suggested Lure Upgrade 1 is in a canal behind Twinkle Park at Station Square. Lure Upgrade 2 is in the water with the Dino Skull during the Ice Cap Stage. Lure Upgrade 3 is in a cave south of Big's house in the Mystic Ruins Jungle. Lure Upgrade 4 is in one of the prison cells at the Egg Carrier. Here's a Youtube video below, showing off all the Lure Upgrade locations, just in case your having a hard time finding them. Credit goes to Cackman of Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NazcE6s5M64 Gamma's B and A Missions are get 50 rings and "save" his brother and "save" his brother with so much time left to spare (with the exemption of the first 2 stages, where Stage 1 wants you to destory the Sonic doll and Stage 2 wants you to grab froggy). Otherwise, Good Luck, you'll need it for some of these missions (I know I had a little bit of trouble with Red Mountain's Mission B, believe it or not). Gamma's Upgrades 1. Jet Booster* Found At: Egg Carrier Where: In the room on the left of the deck when you are inside the Egg Carrier. What it does: Allows you to hover in the air. Recomended: Somewhat Used Often in story: Yes 2. Laser Blaster Found At: Egg Carrier Where: Refer to Jet Booster. What it does: Allows you to target more foes. Recomended: Yes Used Often in story: Can be Once you have Mission A beaten with every character, you'll win the achievement/trophy, and be 96 Emblems closer to "The Perfect Adventurer". If your having trouble with any of these trials, copy the link below for videos on how to go through the trials. Credit for the guide goes to Matriculated of Xbox360achievements.org http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258481 I. Sub Game Master Description: Get all Emblems of the Sub Games Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: As you go through the game, you'll come across Sub Games. This usally happends after you complete the Action Stages. You only have to get the Emblems in 5 Sub Games, and there's two Emblems per Sub Game, so there are 10 Emblems to get for the achievement/trophy. Here's the 5 Sub Games you have to do, and the score to beat for each one: Sky Chase Act 1: 8000 Sky Chase Act 2: 20000 Sand Hill: 10000 Twinkle Circuit: Your time from Mission B Hedgehog Hammer: Your score from the first time you played this With the Sky Chase Sub Game (Acts 1 and 2), I'm not sure how to explain it, so I'm going to have you look at Youtube videos for both Acts. Sky Chase Act 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWa2fGdjFiU& Sky Chase Act 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUUUW6soBI4& Both videos belong to Cackman of Youtube. Both Acts can be played as Sonic or as Tails. As far as the Sand Hill Sub Game goes, you have to make sure you don't lose your X Multiplier even once. Knowing good route to take will make sure that never happends. Watch out for any and all obstacles and hit the speed ramps as you go through the Sub Game. This Sub Game can be played by either Sonic or Tails. Here's a Youtube Video below if your still having trouble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBPo61PMF9Y Again, credit goes to Cackman of Youtube. With Twinkle Circuit, try not to go so fast for Mission B. Mission A will be easier that way. You can use any of the 6 characters for this. With Hedgehog Hammer, don't go nuts the first time you play this. Make sure you get a score like 2100 the first time, then replay it in trial mode. If you don't get the Emblem the first time, advance the story, then try again, but again, don't go to town. If then you still didn't get the Emblem, try it in trial, and don't go crazy. You should get it then. After that, play the game again, and this time smack as many Hedgehogs as you wish. Only Amy can do this Sub Game. J. Chao's Best Friend Description: Get all Emblems of the Chao Race. Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Another long one, so expect a lot of reading (again). This game has the Chao System from the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions of the game. For this achievement/trophy, make sure that you raise your Chao's stats high enough to win all the Jewel races. Before you can enter your Chao into the Chao races, you'll need to raise your Chao(s). Before you begin to attempt this achievement/trophy, you have to ask yourself these questions. First, where do you want to raise your Chao(s) at. Station Square, Mystic Ruins, or the Egg Carrier? If you want to raise them at Station Square, go to the hotel, and go up an elevator. If you want to raise them at the Mystic Ruins, the go to a cave near Tails' House, and take a mine cart ride there. If you want to raise them at the Egg Carrier, first type E-G-G-M-A-N at the Chao Garden enternce, then head on a telporter to get their. Station Square has direct access to the Chao Black Market, and the Chao races, so I highly recommend you go there, but it doesn't matter. Second, ask yourself this question: Do I want to raise one Chao, or multiple Chao? If you want to raise more than one Chao, then ask yourself this question: How many Chao do I want to raise? If you decide to raise one Chao, then you'll have to work it all of its stats. If you want to raise multiple Chao (like two), then you only have to work on the stats required for each race, but it's going to take longer (in my book). Lastly, which character do you want to raise your Chao(s) with? Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, or Gamma? Again, it matters not. Here's what I did for this achievement/trophy: 1. Raised only one Chao. 2. Raised it at Station Square. 3. Raised it as Sonic. Once you get to the Chao Garden of your choice, the first thing you want to do, is to get yourself a couple of Chao Fruit. Head on over to the Chao Black Market, and check that fruit your looking for is there. If it isn't, you'll have to check back again in a bit. If so, buy the Chao Fruit, walk out, drop the fruit, and go back in to buy another one (the game only lets you carry one item at a time for some stupid reason). The Chao Fruit will cost you 200 rings to buy. After that, a Chao Egg must hatch. You can either wait until it hatches by itself (which takes too long), or you can speed up its hatching process really quick. To hatch a Chao Egg quickly, you can either throw it around until it hatches (the Chao will hate you for that), or you can press and hold the action button (X or B for Xbox 360, Square or () for PS3), and hold the ctrl stick in any dirction (for as long as you think you need, but you shouldn't have to do it for long). Once your Chao hatches, give it the Chao Fruit, and keep giving it to your Chao until it finishes the fruit. I'm 100% sure that it won't be at level 1 once it's done eating it, so give it the other one. Onces it finishes its Chao fruit, then check its stats. What's your Chao's Stongest stat? What's your Chao's Weakest? My Chao's stongest point was its Fly stat, while its weakest was its Swim stat. Chao have 5 different stats to work on: Swim Fly Run Power Stamina Now you need to raise your Chao's stats via animals from other stages. You can get animals from different stages in the game. Sonic has access to most of these stages, which is why I picked him as the Chao raiser. Here are the Stages to get your animals at: Swim animals Sea Other, Penguin and Seal - Emerald Coast Fly animals Swallow, Parrot and Peacock - Sky Deck Run animals Deer, Rabbit and Kangaroo - Speed Highway Power animals Gorilla, Lion and Elephant - Red Mountain Note: For Fly, some people have said to go to Windy Vally for the Flying animals, but there's very few foes their, so I woundn't recommend it. Also, Fly is 100% optional (therefore not necessary for the Chao races). I would train your Chao's stats to like 500 points for the beginner races, and 2000 points for Flying, and 1000 everywhere else for the Jewel races (except for Stamina, that can go as high as you want). Like I said, my Chao's weakest stat is Swim, so I would have to go to the Emerald Coast stage first. You can only carry 10 animals at a time, so if you try to pick up number 11, the first one you grab will get replaced by your 11th grab. I would recommend ending the stage once you have 10 of all Swim, Fly, Run or Power animals (if you have that many). Then give the animals to your Chao (giving it fruit for Stamina afterwards). Keep doing this until your Chao reaches the suggested stat points. Once that happends, move on with Chao's 2nd weakest stat, and repeat the same process in a different stage. Keep doing this until all of your stat points are where I suggest at (except for Stamina). Note: If your raising multiple Chao, then I would recommend putting your first Chao in another Chao Garden, and grab another Egg and repeat the process for your 2nd Chao. Once you took care of that, if your raising three Chao or more (I would cap it at 5, one for each Chao Race), then repeat the process for the remaining Chao you want to have race for you. Now you can start the Chao Races. When you first enter through the doors to the Chao races, your only option is to enter the Beginner Race, so click that. Then your given a choice of which Chao you want to enter the race with. If you raised one Chao, you have one choice. If you raised multiple Chao then just select a Chao. After that, you start off with a choice of 4 races you can have your Chao race at. So, why did I cap it 5 Chao, when you have 4 races to choose from? Because after your Chao(s) win the first four, you will unlock number five. Once the Chao of your choice wins number 5, you'll unlock the Jewel Courses Here are the races your Chao(s) must complete in order to unlock the Jewel Courses and what each one tests: Pearl Course - Mainly tests your Chao's Power, but some Run is involved Amethyst Course - Mainly tests your Chao's Run but some Fly is involved Sapphire Course - Mainly tests your Chao's Run, Power, and Swim but some Fly is involved Ruby Course - Tests your Chao's Swim, but it'll have to run briefly. Emerald Course (unlocked by winning the first 4) - Tests all of your Chao's abilites at once You'll notice you really haven't won anything besides braging rights. When you return to the Chao race entry, you'll notice you've unlocked the Jewel races. If your Chao's stats are less than what I suggested for the Jewel races, then you'll have to train your Chao's stats some more. If your raising multiple Chao, that can take you even longer to get this achievement/trophy if you haven't already got all of your Chao's stats that high. Otherwise, read the next paragraph. Once you pick the Jewel races, and picked your Chao, you have the same 5 races to pick from the Beginner Races. You might be thinking "OK, My Chao's got these races, because it's the same thing from the beginner races." Well... that's not necessary true. Your Chao will be racing against more advanced Chao, so don't expect your Chao to win the Jewel Races the first time. For every Jewel race your Chao wins, you get an Emblem. There are 5 Jewel races, so there are 5 Emblems to get. Once your Chao (or all of your Chao) wins all 5 Jewel races, you win the achievement/trophy. Here's my Chao's stats when I got this: Swim - 1015 Fly - 1003 Run - 1067 Power - 1070 Stamina - 0532 Note: You'll noticed my Chao's Fly stat was not where it was suggested. Like I said though, Fly is purely optional, so I didn't really have to work on it. I was going to work on Fly more if it didn't win the Ruby nor Emerald Courses, but it won both races, so I didn't have to. Warring: Save the Emerald Jewel Course for when you beat the first four Jewel course. If you don't, a black chao will appear and you'll be lucky if you get close to the finish line when it overtakes you. Save yourself the time and frustration, and heave my warring. K. The Adventurer Description: Get all Emblems in the Adventure Field. Send me a E-mail 2. Send me a message on my Gamertag on X-Box Live My E-mail address sshadowjohn91(at)yahoo(dot)com. My Gamertag is Gamer364. This can be done only through a text message. E-mail or Message me if you: A. See a spelling error: I may have made spelling errors as I was writing this. B. Have a question that needs asking: You may have something that needs clearing up or something to that affect. C. Have a correction to make: I'm not 100% sure on some of the stuff mentioned though out the guide. D. Want to use my guide on your website: I personally have no problem letting you use my guide on your website, as long as you ask me first, and you give me credit for it. E. Think you see someone using my guide without permission: I don't like it when people steal my stuff (at least, not without asking me first). I don't do it to other people (at least without giving other people credit for the idea), so why do it to me anyway? F. Have something to add-on to this or that/there's something I forgot to include: If there something you think I should have included, but I didn't, you are encouraged to send me an Email for this or that. Do note that if you do decide you want to message me, make sure if the topic is about Sonic Adventure. As of right now the only sites that have permission to use my guide: A. GameFAQs (I have an ancount with them, so they don't really need my permission.) B. Neoseeker (The owner got permission in advanced) C. SuperCheats D. MMGN.com (a gaming website in Australia) More to come (maybe). Don't even think about email me if you are going to send me: A. Hate Mail B. Spam C. Name Calling mail D. Barelly readable/Unreadable mail E. Mail with mostly creative words (if you get my drift) Letter A I take offence to, because I don't send hate mail to no one. I have a Spam safeguard with yahoo, and it'll tell me if I have spam or not with Letter B. Also, if I think your trying sending me spam on Xbox Live, don't think I won't wirte a complant about you, and/or tell Microsoft on you. With letter C, I also take offence, because I get name called in school. Letter D, If your sending me an E-mail, have spell check avaiable to you and your not sure of your spelling, then why not use it? Letter E, Unless I messed up that badly, there's really no reason for that anyway. All of these things can and will make me think your a bad person, when in reality your probably not. All in all, just don't do it. Follow these rules, and if you add-on and/or correct something, I'll give you credit for it. Note: Don't get discouraged if I don't answer you right away. Sometimes, I might be on the Computer and sometimes I'll be on Xbox Live. Your best bet is to send both an E-mail and an Xbox Live message. That way if I don't get one of your messages, I'll still be able to get the other message. Even then, I might still not get your message right away. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Stage 8 : Legal Junk and Special Thanks | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Legal Junk This guide is copyrighted and writen by me.
