He's caught in a complex battle between aliens, the GUN army, and Dr. Eggman. It appears as if the courageous hedgehog may be the very element that will tip the precarious balance between light and darkness forever. Shadow is in for a wild ride! The choice between Good and Evil is everywhere, and temptations abound. Your decisions between the Justice Route and the Wickedness Route will determine the course of your adventure. You'll have to explore both sides in order to get all the clues to your hazy past. There are all-new levels of speed and destruction, and you've got a massive arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and objects to propel you through 50 missions! Explore the fascinating mysteries of Shadow's past. Is he the familiar hedgehog hero, simply suffering from amnesia? Is he a super android created by Dr. Eggman? or is there some deeper and more sinister explanation? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meet the Cast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the manual: Shadow - The black hedgehog who resembles Sonic. With his powerful body, he can easily rival Sonic's world class speed. Shadow was created as the Ultimate Life form in a secret lab by Professor Gerald Robotnik. Everything else about Shadow's past is a mystery. After risking his life to save the planet with Sonic, he suffers from amnesia, having no memories of his past. Sonic - The world's fastest hedgehog whose supersonic speed is second to none. He strives to live according to his own rules rather than for the sake of heroism or duty. Until now, he's been busy stopping Dr. Eggman's preposterous ambitions, but this time, he is motivated more than ever to take on the alien invaders, Black Arms. Black Doom and Doom's Eye - Black Arms, the mysterious alien army that suddenly appeared in the sky bringing darkness and destruction to the world. Black Doom is the leader who is in control of the alien army; while Doom's Eye is Black Doom's third eye that helps guide Shadow to the Chaos Emeralds. Where are they from? And why are they searching for the Chaos Emeralds? More importantly, how do they know Shadow? Their dark purpose will all be revealed as Shadow discovers his true identity. Dr. Eggman - Dr. Eggman is an evil scientist with an IQ of 300. As usual, he is plotting to take over the world and his plans for the ultimate utopia, Eggmanland, are in full swing. He considers the Black Arms, who rely on massive destruction to intimidate the world, a prime threat that could interrupt his master plans. Commander - The highest ranking officer of the GUN (Guardian Units of Nations) Federation forces. With complete confidence and an iron will, he is the corner- stone of the force. Known for his "heart of stone" and remains totally unshaken even as the Black Arms attack the planet under his watch. For reasons only known to him, he harbors a deep hatred of Shadow. He is one of the few who knows the secret of Shadow's past. Profesor Gerald Robotnik and Maria Robotnik - Professor Gerald is a renowned scientist regarded as the most intelligently gifted researcher of all time. Maria is the professor's lovely granddaughter. Fifty years ago, his top secret governement project to create the Ultimate Life form was deemed too dangerous and a threat to mankind, as a result, they eliminated everything related to the project, including the staff. Even Maria, who was like a sister to Shadow, fell victim to this conspiracy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Controls (XBOX/PS2/GC) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Left analog stick: Make Shadow Move Right analog stick/C-stick: Rotate Camera Start: Pause Right Trigger/R1 or R2/R: Strafe Left: Dark Mission Character Down: Normal Mission Right: Hero Mission Character X/Square/Y - Attack/Shoot Y/Triangle/X - Drop Weapon/Special Attack/Chaos Control(Hero)/Chaos Blast(Dark) A/X/B - Jump/Jump Dash/Homing Attack B/Circle/A - Special Action Menu: A or X/X or Square/B or Y - Enter Selection B or Y/Circle or Triangle/A or X - Cancel/Return Left analog/Direction - Highlight Items Start - Title Menu/Enter Selection ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actions Explained ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Move - Move freely in any direction. These are the Dark (red) and Hero (blue) guages. Once one is full you become Dark or Hero Shadow respectively and can perform Chaos Blast or Chaos Control with repsctive versions and will also be invincible and have unlimited ammo. To become Dark Shadow: Damage GUN agents and machinery Damage nature or architecture Breath Dark Mist Revive Black Arms or Eggman's machinery Touch Dark Energy Core items (Red) To become Hero Shadow: Damage Black Arms or Eggman's machinery Smash Black Arms' containers and poisonous plants Extinguish fire sources Revive GUN agents or machinery Touch Hero Energy Core items (Blue) There are up to three missions to complete for each stage: Hero, Normal, or Dark. Complete either mission by performing your assigned task. You can replay the stages you previously completed anytime you like by going to select mode at the title screen. =============================================================================== Stage 1: Westopolis =============================================================================== You start off freefalling down a hole. You can steer yourself to get the rings. The lasers at this point will not harm you for now. At the bottom is the first save point. You'll meet up with Sonic first in this stage and he asks you to help him take on the Black Arms. To complete the Hero Mission, destroy all 45 Black Arms in this stage. You'll come across a Chaos Emerald. Collect it to reveal a spring and use it as the laser breaks the wall ahead. Next, you'll meet Doom's Eye, to complete the Dark Mission, defeat all 35 GUN soldiers and units. Watch out for lasers coming from above. You'll see what looks like a brief shockwave indicating where they'll strike and boy do those things hurt. Do not touch the red fruit without attacking them, they explode upon contact if you touch them. They do, however, boost your Hero Guage if you destroy them. The dash panel will take you to save point #2. Run up the fallen crane to cross the pit and use the GUN planes to cross from the top or destroy the Black Arms below to reveal a spring. But wait, did you notice another fallen crane to the right before you made your decision? Use that crane to reach a hoop that pulls you up but watch for lasers. At the top is your first key. Now get it and move on ahead and use the dash panel. Quickly use your homing attack on the GUN Vehicles and reach the key before the laser above destroys the path to the key and fucks up your plans. Drop down and go fight your way through save point #3 and #4. Keep moving ahead and you'll find save point #5 and the goal ring to complete the normal mission but wait, spin dash to the left under the gate to get a 1-up and spin dash back. If you want to skip the goal ring for now and complete one of the other missions, then keep going and use the dash panel. Steer to the bottom right for another key as you fall. There are still two more keys to get but tune in to the checklist for info on getting them. Checklist for Westopolis [] - Cross the fallen crane and avoid the last on the right and cross that fallen crane and avoid another laser and ride up the hoop and the key is right there. [] - Quickly use homing attacks on two GUN planes to reach it before the laser cuts off the route. [] - Past save point #5, steer to the bottom right as you fall. [] - Before save point #2 - look to the right side and run along the wall and get to it. [] - Haven't found it yet. Dark - ??? Normal - Glyphic Canyon Hero - Lethal Highway =============================================================================== Stage 2b: Glyphic Canyon =============================================================================== Start off by holding the Left Analog Stick up and you'll run through a series of loops and Dash Panels and at the end you'll reach the first save point. You will meet Knuckles afterwards shortly. To complete the Hero Mission, defeat 60 Black Arms aliens. Watch out for falling pillars up ahead as well as a very big worm. The best way to defeat it is to incompacitate a GUN agent or Black Arm alien and take its weapon and shoot the worm in the mouth. Run to the right side of the temple for a key. Kill the Black Arms alien leaving the temple and go up the stairs till you go to a Dash Panel. You'll see a key on top of the wall, take it and go down through the loop. Defeat a couple Black Arms while going into the temple and some Black Arms larvae appear. Dispose of them and spring up. You'll come to a dead end and get sucked up by a tornado. You'll land on save point #2 and ahead you meet Doom's eye. Now to complete the Dark Mission, activate the 5 jewels by touching them. They look like green spheres on a stand. Loop the loops and you'll land on save point #3. Ahead is the first jewel, if you want to be Dark. Defeat the tiny larvae on the wall and grab the hoop to get a lift and spring to save point #4. Be careful not to be hit by the boulders being tossed around by the tornado. Hop across the floating tiles and avoid or shoot the rolling pillar pieces and get the rings at the top of the slope. You'll get sucked in by another tornado and land on save point #5. To save you the trouble of crossing the tiles, Light Dash across instead. You will run into a secret door. At this point you have only two keys so far. Move ahead and use the steam to get an updraft and reach the second jewel. Kill the worm and larvae below it. Use a series of dash panels and kill anyone inbetween and you'll land on save point #6 You may have noticed a key as you fall through the air, Make it to the spring and pull back and land on the area where the key is and go back ahead. Destroy another big worm and touch a third jewel. Chop down a Black Arm alien to maneuver through a moving tile for the fourth jewel. One more of those to go. Watch out for the debris and now here comes three choices: kill the remaining Black Arms aliens, touch the last jewel or get the goal ring. There is one more save point if you want to go back. Checklist for Glyphic Canyon [] - Run to the right side of the temple after the first worm [] - On top of a wall before a loop. It's in sight. [] - As you'll fall, you'll see it, run to the spring and pull back. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. Dark - ??? Normal - Prison Island Hero - Circus Park =============================================================================== Stage 2c - Lethal Highway =============================================================================== Oh goody, here's a complicated task. In order to complete the Dark Mission, withdraw from the city and to complete the Hero Mission, you must destroy the Black Arms mothership. It's not that easy though. It will sometimes break up the street to where you can't follow it and it also has a shield which you must destroy to inflict damage onto it. The shield is blue and turns green as it takes more punishment then finally it will be gone. Early on, the mothership will take to high ground. Try to use the homing attack to catch up to it if you can and you'll get a key. If you fail, you have to keep moving along the bottom till you reach a rocket then as you drop, steer to a dash panel. Once you catch up, don't let up on this guy. Once the shield is gone, it's time to be very aggressive. [] - As you attack the mothership, time a homing attack to chase it as it takes the high road and you'll land on the top and the key is on the right. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. Dark - Prison Island Hero - Circus Park --------- Boss Fight: Black Bull (Hero Mission completed) Use the homing attack on the Black Arms bats then attack his green eye up to six times with the homing attack. After 50% of his energy is gone, Black Arms aliens will join into the fight. Keep concentrating on the Black Bull to win. The attacks to watch for are the Fireball and Fire Spread. --------- =============================================================================== Stage 3b: Prison Island =============================================================================== To complete the Dark Mission, defeat forty GUN soldiers. The first save point is above the wall after you spring up. To complete the Hero Mission, help Charmy the Bee collect five secret disks for Vector the Crocodile. The first Secret Disk is directly ahead. There is a spring floor which can boost you high but ignore it and get the key from under the box. Use the dash panel from there to land on Save Point #2. The water is toxic. You will also see a red slime pool. Press the Special Action button for the Dark Spin Dash and end up in a secret spot. Destroy a Black Arms alien and comandeer the flying pad it was on and ride down the river. Make it to the dash panel and land on save point #3. (If you had jumped while on the ramp in the river instead, Beat up the Black Arms aliens and larvae and make it to a key and you can grind on to save point #3 too.) Use the spring to grab the pole and shuffle to the right and take out any Black Arms in the way. Get past the fire breathing flower and grind on the rail and get the hoop to go up. Triangle Jump to reach the 2nd secret Disk and ramp ahead. Put out the fire and Slide under the gate. Run the other way for a special weapon. Use the pole to reach the platform on the right and spring up. Hit the switch to the lift the gate and dash panel ahead onto the next save point (#4). Fight to a flying pad and go down to the river but grind on the left for a Dark Energy cre and become Dark Shadow instantly. Drop down and get on the platform for a boost to another area and move forward and boost on another ramp. You'll have the third secret disk. After a while, dismount and grind along the right side and get more items and soon you'll come across one more rail. You can take it straight on to the goal ring and complete the level or leave it and complete the dark or hero mission. Should you keep going, the fourth disk is ahead. There is a secret weapon in the red pool path and don't forget the save point #6 too. Ride down the river and there is a lot of debris in the river. Be careful not to lose your ride. At the fork, take the right side to get a key. You can get the last secret disk at the very end. [] - Under a box, you'll see something sparkling underneath [] - After save point #2, take a flying pad and once on a ramp, get a boost and the key is in the area [] - As you ride down the river, avoid the debris and go right at the fork to grind into it [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. Dark - ??? Normal - Sky Troops Hero - ??? =============================================================================== Stage 3c: Circus Park =============================================================================== We'll get back to this one later but just remember that to complete the normal mission, touch the goal ring, to complete the dark mission, defeat 20 GUN soldiers, and to complete the Hero mission, collect 400 rings. If you get hit, you lose rings so be careful. Tails is your Hero buddy here. Dark - Sky Troops Normal - ??? Hero - ??? =============================================================================== Stage 4c: Sky Troops =============================================================================== No need to touch the controller at the beginning till you hit the first Save Point. To complete the Dark Mission, destroy five of Eggman's battleships. You will see a gun turret ahead and use it on the ship if you can. Go up the stairs for save point #2. You meet Eggman and to complete the hero mission, you must destroy five Temple Jewels. The first one is dead ahead but watch for Black Arms using ring weapons and swords. Shoot away the larvae and grab the hoop to get a lift and Light Dash across the pit. Use the GUN's jump vehicle to climb to the top. There is a key after the first passageway to the left. The pillar pieces roll at you. What the fuck is that thing floating in air? Anyway, dismount and use the rocket to reach save point #3. The second jewel is ahead but watch for the big Black Arms alien with swords as they have huge energy bars. After the loop, double back for a key. Take the high road, light dash, take out any enemies you see fit, go up the stairs and dash panel it to a jump vehicle and make it to the top. Dismount and rocket to save point #4. First take the low road and get th key then run back and take the high road that leads to another key and shoot down an air ship with a turret. Go back down and take the path to save point #5 and Jewel #3 ahead. Rocket to save point #6. If you want to complete any mission, you must defeat a bird and ride it through a tunnel but dismount before the end of the tunnel and drop down at the end for the last key. That secret door you past earlier in the level leads to a special bird that takes you through item and provides a shortcut to the end of the level but at this point you are almost there already so move on ahead and complete either mission. [] - After the first passageway [] - Double back after a loop and it's in sight. [] - Take the low road and its there [] - Go back from there and take the path to this one [] - Dismount from the bird at the end of the tunnel and drop down. Dark - ??? Normal - Iron Jungle Hero - ??? =============================================================================== Stage 5c: Iron Jungle =============================================================================== Upon entering, you meet up with Dr. Eggman, your Dark Mission is to eliminate 28 GUN forces. The normal mission is finding the entrance to Eggman's base and the Hero Mission is to destroy Eggman's airship. Go along your business and you will run into Omega. Eliminate the robot on the floating platform if you want to. Move ahead for save point #1. There is a Jump Vehicle ahead. You can jump a long way with this thing and there are two choices ahead: Jump onto the moving platform and cross the pit and grind to save point #2 or take the high road before the platform and grind and get rings. Destroy all who oppose you but if you want to be a Hero, leave the GUN stuff alone. Dash panel onto an area where you must destroy robots and Shadow Androids to make the platform rise. You can actually skip this fight by timing a Jump Dash to grab the hoop and lift yourself to safety. Use the rocket to cross the pit. Get past the GUN machine and use the spring and move onto save point #3. Stay at the top as much as possible then use three homing attacks on the ring bubbles followed by a Light Dash to cross the pit safer and hit Save Point #4. Defeat the Eggman robots to lift the gate. You don't have to fight the Shadow Androids below. Before you jump down, time your jump so you can Jump Dash to the hoop and get to save point #5. There are two choices, go low or go high: High: You got a lot of platforms to jump across followed by a long Light Dash to save point #7. In between you is a lot of GUN Robots. Low: A big grind that leads to save point #6. Fuck fighting the Shadow Androids period. Use those horizontal poles to get to safety and take a rocket across. Don't get smashed by the platform and there is one more save point for any unfinished business you may have otherwise, touch the ring to complete the normal mission. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. [] - Haven't found it yet. Dark - ??? Normal - Boss Fight with Egg Breaker and Lava Shelter Hero - ??? --------- Boss Fight: Egg Breaker Egg Breaker cannot be attacked directly just yet. First you must destroy an Eggman robot to get its weapon, ride a rocket and shoot Dr. Eggman as you go down all that while avoiding the laser. That's the hard way. The easy way is to get on the gun turret before his lasers destroy it and cap on his ass. After 50% energy left, he'll come down. He still uses lasers but he'll also try to stomp you. Watch for the shockwaves from his stomps. The fastest way to beat him now is to use the turret. If he destroys it, use the gatling gun left in its place and finish him off with it. --------- =============================================================================== Stage 6c: Lava Shelter =============================================================================== There is no neutral mission here. Whether you complete the Dark or Hero Mission only determines the cutscene. The last boss of the neutral path is the same no matter what. You start off grinding along the rails and you can switch rails by shifting the left analog stick to the rail you want to jump to. Keep that in mind as you dodge the Eggman robots. When you meet Omega, grind down the center and jump right before the dead end and back left before the other dead end and reach the first save point. You have no keys to use on the secret door yet so move ahead, Use the fans to get across the lava pits then eliminate the robots and grind on the rail as the blocks rise and use them to get across before they sink. Wait a minute. We forgot to mention something. In that area with the fans are, there was a door up there was it? Oh right there was. To reach it, use the Triangle Jump to make it across. A key awaits you up there and you can grind at the top over the lava. You'll run into Dr. Eggman and he wants you to activate his defense system to ward off GUN. There are five of them to activate. There is a catch though. If you activate one, the lava levels will rise and you'll have to take a detour to reach the designated path. Grind along the rail then Light Dash along the rings and dodge the lasers and use the hoop to get a lift. You'll probably ask how in the sam hell can you get to those items in the bottom door. You'll need all five keys to make it to them so ignore the door and take the upper door. As you go, there is a spot you can lift up with the Special Action button and go down. There is a key at the end of the path. Use the poles to make it across. Be careful not to fall into the lava if you been working on the Dark Mission, so you are safe if you on a Hero Mission goal. There is another defense system activator ahead. Take the grind rail and stay on top for another key and keep grinding to the end of the rail to save point #4. The third activator is ahead. Ignore it for the time being and go forward and get the hoop and reach save point #7. You'll continually grind and shift to the right rail for a forth key. Now if you want to be a Hero. Touch the goal ring. If you want to be Dark, die if you have at least two lives and as you reappear, run on back to the third activator and make it function and you have a long climb up to the top and very perilous too. For all your efforts, you get the last key and the path to the last activator. [] - Triangle jump along the wall through the upper door [] - Lift a piece of the floor and get the key at the end of the path [] - After you activate the 2nd system, just grind to through it [] - Take the low path after the 3rd system and after save point #7, grind and jump to the right rail to grind into it. [] - Take the high road after the 3rd activator and after the climb through hell and back, the key is there. --------- Boss Fight: Egg Dealer This fight is too simple. No need to even say shit here but we will. His first attack is always missile storm. From then on, use your homing attacks to hit his three sensors and if it lands on bombs or missiles, it will end up being an attack on Robotnik with his own weapons. After 50% energy is left, he will get mad and start moving faster. Three Shadows = instant Dark Shadow which means you can put chaos shadow to use. --------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next update ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updates/History ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11/28/2005: Both neutral endings 11/27/2005 - all you see here ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other FAQs on the way ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Samurai Showdown Tenka (Spanish) - Atomiswave Megaman Battle Network 5 Blues and Colonel - GBA Metal Slug Advance - GBA Metal Slug Evolution - PS2 Twinkle Star Sprites La Petite Princess - PS2 Metal Slug 6 - Atomiswave KOF 94' Rebout (Spanish) - PS2 High Rollers Casino - Xbox SNK Slot Panic Vol 1 - PS2 Shining Tears - PS2 Sorairo no Fuuken Remix - PS2 KOFXI (Spanish) - Atomiswave KOF 2003 (Spanish) - Neo Geo KOF94-2002 (Spanish) - Neo Geo Devil May Cry 2 - PS2 Gradius 5 - PS2 Gradius 4 - Arcade Tekken 5 - PS2 Final Fantasy 7: DoC - PS2 Final Fantasy 12 - PS2 Paper Mario 2 - Gamecube Super Mario 64 DS - DS KOF Max Impact 2 - Xbox360?
