***************************************** A way to gain any item in Neverwinter Nights. (c) Bioware Corp. http://nwn.bioware.com/ by: luxfero from F.I. (c) http://www.factitious-intellect.tk/ ***************************************** [ First of all, this text file can be distributed freely under the ] [ condition that nothing in it would be changed. DO NOT add or remove ] [ anything, unless my permission is given to do so. ] Let's start off by saying that this can be done in original NWN and both of its expansions: 'Shadows of Undrentide' and 'Hordes of the Underdark', both (c) by Bioware Corp. Load up the Toolset; it can be done so through NWN menu or open the file in '..\NWN\' called 'nwtoolset.exe'. A menu will pop up asking you how it should open. Select 'Start normally' and press 'OK'. Once that is open, go into '..\NWN\nwm'. Now, if you are playing the original NWN, take and drag a file called 'Prelude.nwm' right into the Toolset that should be open right now. If you are playing 'SoU' then open 'XP1-Interlude.nwm' and if 'HoU' open 'XP2_Chapter1.nwm'. A message will appear, saying that if you will open this module, you will only be able to read it and not write anything in it unless you save it to another module. Right. That is fine, press 'Yes' to continue. Another message might appear if you have any of the expansion packs. It will state that if you will save the current module, it will flag it with requirements to have that expansion pack in order to play it and such. Press 'Yes', we won't be saving anything here anyway. Let it load. After it loaded, you will see a tree of content on the left. Should look something like this: + Areas + Conversations + Scripts We won't need the bottom two. Now press the + next to the Areas, so it will become - Areas, like so: - Areas + area1 + area2 + area3 + area4 + Conversations + Scripts Double click on the top Area according to what you see (if you look above, for me it would be 'area1') for it depends on what module you opened. Let it load. You should see a map open up in front of you. Now look on the top right, there should be a set of buttons. You should see a little sword button somewhere there. It is called 'Paint items' if you hover over it. It is fourth from left. Click that. A new tree of content should appear below those buttons. (It was there to begin with, but with each of those buttons it changes relevant to the objects you wish to place inside the module.) It should look like this: + Armor + Creature Items + Miscellaneous + Plot Item + Tutorial + Weapons Open up the + of Armor and it should look like this: - Armor + Clothing + Heavy + Helmets + Light + Medium + NPC Clothing + Shields + Creature Items + Miscellaneous + Plot Item + Tutorial + Weapons For an example let us open Medium. You will see a list of all Medium armor that is available legally inside the game. Now right-click 'Breastplate' and choose 'Edit Copy'. A new window will pop up with a character wearing that item. You can take a look at that item's stats and such by clicking on different tabs located on the top. *** Do not change anything, because you will be waste time. Unless you are willing to change everything that you want inside the objects then rebuild the module and play it, be my guest. But if you want to stick with the official module then just view and not change, for writing abilities are disabled right now. If you look in the 'General' tab of an item, you will see 'Tag' box at the bottom of the window. Inside that box you will see the name of the item which NWN uses to control objects. It will look something like this: NW_AARCL010; if you are viewing the example of the Breastplate that I am using to explain. Now click 'Cancel'. Now that you know how to look for items and what to look in its properties, look through all of the items in Armor, Miscellaneous, and Weapons and choose whatever items you would like to gain and write down their tags. Copy and Paste feature will not work inside NWN, so write them down on a piece of paper. *** I DO NOT suggest trying to get one of the Plot Items, for it might trigger effects that should not have been triggered until the time is right inside the campaign to have that item. Once you get the tags for the items you need, close the Toolset. Don't save if it asks you. Now load up the game itself. Load wherever you were playing and once you can see your character press the '~' key. (The usual key to access the Debug mode and enter cheats.) Now type 'DebugMode 1' (without the quotes), it is case sensetive. Some places in the game might turn green, which is normal. Now press the '~' key again and type this in: 'dm_spawnitem {tag here}' For example: dm_spawnitem NW_AARCL010 That should spawn the item around your character. The mouse will automatically point on the object, so you should be able to locate it with ease. Note that some objects might be marked as Unknown because you have to reached the proper point in the game and level even to be able to have that item. So just Identify it with the Merchant if one is around; or identify it yourself if you have the proper equipment or feats. Once you are done with gaining the items, type 'DebugMode 0' to exit out of the Debug mode and get rid of the green spots around your character. ***************************************** Neverwinter Nights Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark BioWare Aurora Neverwinter Nights Toolset All are copyrighted by BioWare Corporation.
