Well the first time I downloaded the demo, I thought oh my f'n god! What a lemon! The graphics are damn good but I cant do a thing! Then of course a month later I decided to give it another crack. I went to the forums for the game and a little guy told me to read the demo manual as it comes with a manual specifically designed for the demo. Well not many games come with a manual just for their demo, so I just dismissed the readme etc. and hoped for the normal tutorial. OMG! There was none! Anyway I then attempted the demo with the newly aqcuired knowledge and I was well on my way to enjoying a fine game. _______________________________________________________________________ ~ -II- Reason for this FAQ ~ _______________________________________________________________________ Well the reason I am writing this (and yes I am still writing this even as you read it - believe me I am a perfectionist) and any other FAQs that I have created, is because I got sick of spending five to ten minutes on many forums writing a strat for one mission where someone needed help, only to have them ignore whatever I said. This way I write what someone needs and I don't have to repeat it. Besides I like helping people who appreciate being helped. Other than that, I beleive that this game desperately cries out for some kind of guide to be written for it. Mission statement: To make my FAQ/Guide/Walkthrough as good, as in-depth and as thorough as the first FAQ that I ever read. You can scroll the mouse wheel towards you or you can click and hold both mouse buttons and move the mouse towards you. o> To isntantly zoom up close to a ship or an object double click on it in the 3D window or on the ship or contact list on either side of the screen. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~- -Ship Selection- ~-~-~-~-~-~-~- To select a ship you can either select it in the 3D space view which occupies the vast majority of the screen or the easier method which is to select it via the two lists on either side of the screen. The ship list on the left or the contact list on the right. To select more than one ship, simply hold down the CTRL button and select the next ship with the left mouse button. Note you can only multiple select your own ships. ~-~-~-~- -Movement- ~-~-~-~- There are many methods of ship movement. The first of these is the simple right click on an object or ship when the desired ship is selected. However this limits the locations the ship can travel dramatically. To move a ship anywhere in 3D space, simply select the ship, move the camera to the desired angle and then follow these steps: 1. Hold down the left shift key. This will cause the movement locaters on the 3D screen to show up. These are the blue circles that show the relative distance shown in circle size. The bigger the circle, the closer the object or ship is to the selected ship. And of course the smaller the circle the farther the object or ship is. 2. Now move the mouse cursor around the screen to the desired location and press and hold the left mouse button. This allows the depth of movement. Which relates to the distance relative to the ship. 3. Now move the mouse, whilst still holding the left mouse button and the left shift key, away from you to designate a further distance and towards you do designate a shorter distance. 4. Remember when you engage depth designation, mode by holding down the left shift key and the left mouse button, you are looking at a flat plane. Imagine the 3D representation of the ship and space you are looking at is just a picture of the ground. The ship is just a 2D drawing on that ground. When you designate depth you are in fact telling the ship to go to a depth beyond or before that exact picture. So its like looking down at a submarine from top down view and telling it to go x far from its current position in the y axis and to a depth or height of x on the y axis. The depiction below explains this: 1234567 _______ 1 | | | 2 | | M| 3 ----+----x 4 | | | 5 |_o_|___| y This is a 2D image of the ships movement. The surrounding square is the 3D image you see in the game. The o is the ship you are controlling. The lines in the middle in the vertical and horizontal are the axis, x and y. To move the ship at location o, to the destination location M you must move the order the ship to go to the destination which is at x location 7 and y location 2. This is fine in 2 dimensional space but you wish to move the ship in 3 dimensional space which requires an extra coordinate. 123 1 | 2 |M 3 -+-z 4 | 5 o| y This is a look of the picture from side on. The + in the middle is the x axis - seeing as how we are looking at it from the side we cannot see the x axis, just like we could not see the z axis in the first picture. Notice that there is a third symbol, z. This is the third dimension and the last coordinate that we wish to move the ship to. Therefore we will need this extra data to move in 3 dimension space. The last coordinate is 3 on the z axis, which is denoted by the depth on our movement cursor. Therefore we now have the three coordinates to move our ship in 3D space. Of course we dont tell the ship to go to 7 on x axis, 2 on y axis and 3 on z axis, we use the mouse cursor to estimate the location. Therefore to move the ship in 2D we simply hold down the left shift key, move the mouse cursor and then let go of the left shift key to order the 2D movement. But to move in the third dimension, we need to designate a depth/height from the second dimension. We do this by holding down the left mouse button at the same time we are holding down the shift key, and moving it away from us for a location away from the ship and mouse movement towards us for a location that is closer to the ship. Once the order has been given by letting go of the left mouse button and the shift key, the ship will engage is primary drive and move diagonally directly toward the target location. I hope you understand this. ~-~-~-~-~ -Attacking- ~-~-~-~-~ To attack an enemy capital ship all you need to really do is select the ship, select an available attack type from the attack modes on the bottom and right click the target in the 3D screen or on the contact list. The available attack modes are: o Shield Attack - This engages the shield draining weapons and proceeds to drain the target ships shields. To be able to use shield attack, the ship must be equipped with shield attack or draining weapons. Be it guns, bombs or missiles. Lasers are not considered shield draining weapons. o Device Attack - This engages the laser type weapons and attempts to damage and eventually destroy the selected ship device. To be able to use device attack, the ship must be equipped with some form of lasers. This means lasers only. More on this later. o Hull Attack - This uses the hull type weapons to attack an exposed hull. To be able to use hull attack, the ship must be equipped with hull attack weapons. This includes guns, bombs or missiles. Lasers are not considered hull attack weapons. o Artillery Attack - This causes the ship to move to optimal range and proceeds to attack with its long range artillery weapons. To be able to use artillery, the ship must be able to equip and have equipped artillery type weapons. This includes seige lasers, missiles and torpedos. o Special Weapon Attack - This is a special attack ability. See the specific weapon for its use. Basically, it uses the special weapons to attack the target. To be able to use special weapon attack, the ship obviously must have a special weapon of some sort. Note that most guns will automatically fire at targets of opportunity when presented with one. Device attack is a special type of attack that requires a little more work to acheive. 1. Your ship must have a device attack weapon such as a laser of some sort. 2. Next select your ship. 3. Select the target ship. 4. Select the device button above the contact list. (if not already open) 5. Use the device type tabs to navigate to the desired target and select it so it flashes. 6. Select Device Attack from the commands at the bottom of the screen. 7. Right click on the ship on the 3D screen or on the contact list. The ship will now use its main drives to move to the target and commence firing its device attack weapons upon the device to disable and then destroy it. The ship must move to a point so that the device is visible to the weapon before firing at it. This may mean that the ship needs to traverse around the entire ship to be able to fire at the specific device, depending on its location on the targeted ship. _______________________________________________________________________ ~ -VII- Vessel Guide ~ _______________________________________________________________________ Coming later. _______________________________________________________________________ ~ -IIX- Weapons Guide ~ _______________________________________________________________________ Coming much later. _______________________________________________________________________ ~ -IX- Extra Object Information ~ _______________________________________________________________________ ^ what the previous section said. _______________________________________________________________________ ~ -X- Mission Walkthrough ~ _______________________________________________________________________ This mission walkthrough is for use with the professional difficulty setting. This is a basic walkthrough, as the game is very new and most of the secret bits havent been discovered yet. The pre-mission setups are only a guide and its entirely up to you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-1- MISSION 01 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] NONE This should be easy as pie! No enemies and nothing but a good old bad mine to deal with. Sweet! [Arrival To Jupiter] 1. OK Straight off the bat. You cannot do anything. Only manipulate your view etc. Wait for the dispatcher from ST Mich Space Station to notify you to proceed to the NAV point Michelangelo. Once you have been notified, the Approach F2 button will light up on the bottom. From here you can either choose the easier and faster method or the by-the-book method of travel. Either make sure your ship is selected and right click on the NAV point Michelangelo on the enemy/neutral list on the right or select the button (press F2) whilst your ship is selected and click on icon of the nav point in space. Its up to your playing style. 2. OK your now moving for the nav point. A patrol will arrive on the scene and tell you that the minefield protecting the base is active and that they will be escorting you in. Wait for them to reach you, then proceed to the Sunflower space station. 3. The minefield is still active. The fighters will tell you to hold position whilst the mines are deactivated. Press F2 or hit the hold position button on the bottom of the screen. Once this is done proceed to the sunflower base. 4. You will get a warning from the base that one of the mines didnt deactivate and that you will have to back away from it. You can either hit the hold position button or the runaway button and right click on the newly listed malfunctioning mine that has appeared on your nuetral/enemies list. Within a few seconds, you will be told that the mine is no longer a threat and that you may proceed. However if you chose to hold position you may be too close and the mine may chase after you anyway. So best bet is to either runaway right away or hold position then runaway. Its up to you. Once you reach the base, the mission ends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-2- MISSION 02 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] NONE OK a single freighter, thats a nice easy target to get a good bit of practice on. [The Ronin] 1. To start this off. The freighters you were transporting for eight months were carrying some spy satelites to spy on the enemy movements etc. They have detected a Kissaki Freighter named the ronin that you are to investigate. Once you are in the mission a few new buttons will light up. The recon button, among others. Select it and right click on the nav 1 point in the contact list on the right. The ship will move within range and scan it for indentification etc. The scan will detect two ships, one the ronin and the other supposedly its sister ship Behiimosu. 2. All of the sudden the sister ship Behiimosu I scanned to be more than just a freighter of the same kin of the ronin but a ship of unknown design. Its engines build up and dissapears from the scene. You are to give chase to the ronin who decides to flee. You must attack it to a degree to convince it that it has no chance of escape. Once you have sufficiently damaged the freighter, it will stop still. Press F1 or hit the auto button on the bottom to cease fire. To capture it you must launch a commando ship. But to do so with an anti-fighter gun such as a flak gun, would be stupid. So, to that effect, a new button will light up. Target device. The device list will open up now on the top of the screen for the ronin. First select your ship then target device, then the flak gun then the enemy ship to commence firing. 3. Once the flak gun is out of commission, the ronin will launch fighters in an attempt to attack the commandos. Therefore you must launch fighters to counter the enemies fighters. Whilst this is happening, the ronin will target your flak gun with its laser cannon. Do the same but with the ronins laser cannon. 4. Once the fighters and the laser cannon have been dealt with you are now totally free to send in your marine to capture the ronin. You can bring your fighters back to the ship if you want. Your commandos will discover some unusual materials. Once they have set off from the ronin for your ship the mission will end. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-3- MISSION 03 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] NONE Oh great two behemoths to waste and a lamb to protect...b-e-a-utiful. [OSEC Encounter] 1. This one is a peice of cake! You will have detected weapons fire in the area. There are two longsword class ships attacking your sister ship the hawking. You are to intervene and save the hawking. First rolling with engines at maximum. 2. Then scan the closest ship with the recon button. The device list will light up. Now use target device to target the flak cannon and totally destroy it. Once that is destroyed, then select the newest button option, which is artillery and then right click on the ship or its listing in the contacts list. Now sit back and watch the fireworks! You can do the same to the other ship but of course you only have 4 missiles to use with the artillery option. So either use them all with the first ship or half for each and finish em off with the normal guns. 3. Once the first ship either blows up or simply evacuates, then proceed to the next one and pummel them a new one. Once the second one either blows up or evacs, the mission ends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-4- MISSION 04 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] NONE One ship versus tons of platforms???? OMG OMG OMG! [The Chance] 1. The trick to this mission is the space born tug. You will find the tug if you go to search nav point two, find the station and then start heading to it. The secret way to get through this mission without a scratch, is that tug. Send a commando ship over to make contact with it and search for survivors. It is not defended so dont worry about the commandos. Dont get too close to the station yet, its too highly defended. You will find a survivor amongst the wreckage of the tug. He will tell you all you need to know about the defenses. Their weaponry, their location and unknowingly, how to defeat them. 2. You see there are outer and inner platform defenses. The outer defences are for anti capital ship whereas the inner defences are for anti fighter defence. Take out the outer defences with fighters and the inner defences with the stiletto and you walk away without being fired at! 3. So with this information, set your fighters off to waste the outer platforms. Dont worry about them, the inner platforms are too far from the outer ones to worry about the fighters coming under fire. To make it a bit shorter battle, set the list to sort by range, so that they dont criss cross the entire battlefield to get to their next target. If your fighters to end up getting fired at, just move to the next target. 4. Whilst you are systematically taking out the outer platforms, you will find a shipwrecked kissaki ship. You get a hint that its there from the scrap of drive mask that your first officer finds when the mission started. Take note of this ship. This is your freedom ticket. When you have taken out all of the outer platforms, send the stiletto in to start on the inner ones. As soon as the battle has commenced with the inner platforms, send the commando team to dock with the shipwreck. 5. You will find a link to the platforms. You will be give a window of 3 minutes to dock with the station, and leave before the last of the platforms comes back online and starts firing at you. Dock with the station as fast as you can. 6. Bring the stiletto as close to the station as you can whilst still firing at the inner platforms. The commandos will find what they would call a carrier but its a military ship of roughly the same class as the stiletto. But its unarmed so you will have to protect it. The commandos take control of this new ship and pilot it out of the hangar. Send the angelwing to the meeting point. Since the inner platforms are all but wasted, and offline, the commandos should be able to make it back to the stiletto with time to spare. Once docked, waste the last of the platforms with the stiletto as they are worthless against your ship. Once they are dead move your ship out to the meeting point. The mission will end once you get there. If you waste the platforms before the angelwing exits the base, the mission will automatically end. NOTE: If you waste the platforms before you capture the wrecked battleship, you will get a 'nothing here' report. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-5- MISSION 05 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Stiletto}- 9/9 = 4/9 Electron Cell Gemini Fighter -{Madeline}- 8/8 = 6/8 Electron Cell Space Marines -{Lightning}- 8/8 = 7/8 Electron Cell -{Angelwing}- NONE 3 Heavies versus 1 heavy, 2 lights, an unarmed vessel and a bunch of useless anti-fighter platforms? Great, awesome, cool. [Kissaki Raid] 1. The Sunflower base is under attack. You must do what you can to defend it and the angelwing. As soon as you go into the mission, you will want to use the all powerful Tornado AM missiles on the enemy ships asap. To this end, set all of your ships weapons power settings to 200% and have all of the them target device, and set them to waste each enemy ships flak cannon. As soon as that is done and all of the three enemy ships have no flak cannon or at least no functioning flak cannons, make sure your ships are out of range, then proceed to fire all of your four tornado am missiles at the two smaller of the ship, either the tonbatsu or the ming. 2. The sunflower base will launch a slew of its own missiles at the ming, but of course the problem being they launched them all at the same time - which means that as soon as one of them gets through the enemy flak cannons, the rest get vapourized by the blast. 3. Send the angelwing to the St Mich. If you get a mine warning, send it back to one of your ships, and then back again. The idea being to keep it away from the enemy ships as much as possible in the tight space. You are doing this because all three enemy ships will launch commando ships in an attempt to capture the angelwing. Of course, we dont want them to do that. 4. Once all of the flaks are down set each ship to attack an enemy ship with the idea of wearing it down until the tornados are expended and gets back down to normal fighting. 5. Manually fire the tornado's if you have to, just use up all of them as they are well worth the recharge time. One thing to note is that they do enourmous damage to a wide area, so keep your ships away from the target ship as they will cop a hell of a beating if they get caught in the blast. Once they are all expended at least one ship should be just about to evac point. Pound it with all your ships to put it out of comission. As soon as one goes down, target the other smaller ship with all your firepower and pound it to a pulp. 6. Just as before, as it goes down proceed to lay waste to the larger of the three ships and simply await the evac warning, with which will tell you that its all over. The mission immediately ends once all three are put out of comission. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-6- MISSION 06 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- You can put anything here but you wont need anything, just get the best you can find with 8/8 points. When your done, 0/8, you can start the mission. Just dont remove the datascanner. No fighting? Only an object attacks you that you cant attack back! [Shukenja Beta] 1. When you begin the mission your objective will be to scan the station. However discovery of a wormhole will add another tier to your responsibilities. Not only that, but a small object also needs scanning. 2. I would suggest you scan the station first, then the wormhole and finally the object. 3. When you are finished scanning the object will come to life. It will start to attack you. Dont worry it will take a few hits to kill you. Angel will transfer to your ship and activate a previously unknown device - your shield. She will also tell you that you have no choice but to jump into the wormhole. 4. You have nothing else to do. Jump into the wormhole and await your fate. The mission ends as soon as you make the jump. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-7- MISSION 07 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- 24/24 = 0/24 Energy Shell Energy Shell Uranium Gatling Gun Uranium Gatling Gun (remove unneeded datascanner) Silver Gatling Gun Silver Gatling Gun Laser Ring Flak System Laser Ring Flak System ST Sensor Array L2 Fusion Support Generator Electron Cell Electron Cell Spark Fighter Spark Fighter OMG OMG OMG! Tons of enemies that are fairly tough! And of course a protection missin... my favourite. [Raptor Raid] 1. OK this is a bit of a tough mission. But it can be won (on pro diff) with no losses except for the inevitable fat lady that gets captured after the mission ends. You cannot prevent it. As soon as the mission starts, power up your shields and weapons. Set your weapons power setting to 200%. Move to intercept the enemy ship 'Glorious Death' (the closest one) and manually target that ship with all your weapons. 2. Pound the living crap outta that ship. As soon as its name turns grey, being disabled, find out who is attacking the Manatos freighter. Then target them manualy and give them everything youve got and then some. Just keep pounding it and pounding it, you will eventually disable a few ships. The destroyer Chrome will help you with that. 3. The Manatos will take a heavy beating but you should be able to pound the enemy ships enough to force them to deal with you first. As soon as they cease fire on the frieghter, and target you, you have won! Just keep at em and for your own pleasure, try to take out all of the raptors to a disabled state. If you are fast enough and prepared enough, you should be able to disable all but the big ship. 4. As soon as the timer runs out, you win the mission. Dont worry about the last of the enemy ships as you dont need to kill them all. Actually you dont need to kill any of them. But its more satisfying. The mission ends with the whole fleet jumping out but the Fat Lady being captured. You cant prevent this. The enemy ships along with your freighter, jump out too. End of mission. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-8- MISSION 08 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- 6/6 = 3/6 Whitelight Heavy Laser - Uranium Gatling Gun Commando Squad Preatorian Gunboat (given to you) Great I gotta chase this SOB half way across the system disable its engines, all the while being shot at! [The Chase] 1. This one is fairly easy but can get messy near the end. It is important to micromanage your resources of your ship. Whilst you can use your reserves for engines, I would suggest you use them for weapons as they are much more needed than speed. Sure you can get there a bit earlier, but its not entirely necessary to fly the ship apart getting there. 100% is good enough. Going into this mission make sure you have at least one Whitelight Heavy Laser to be able to disable the freighters engines. 2. OK as soon as you enter the mission and are able to start doing anything. Set your course for the fat lady. Charge your shields, set your guns to 200% and set your target device setting to both the fat ladies drives. Once you have done that, its a simple matter of time before you get within range of the frieghter, pummel its engines and then start on the enemy ships. Remember you have to DESTROY the two engines or else they will eventually come back online. 3. Undoubtedly your ship will have fired on the enemy ships. After you have fully disabled the freighter, start to work on the weakest of the three enemy ships. Since you DIDNT use your reserve for engines, you will still have a fair amount of it left. Use it to totally wipe out one of the enemy ships. You only need to disable it before going to work on the next. 4. Keep going at them one at a time until they are all disabled and awaiting your destruction. You can blow them up if you want, regardless, it makes no difference. 5. A couple of contacts appear on the far horizon. They turn out to be more raptors. You can start to work on these new ones if you like, however it doesnt matter. The Rome jumps in and spoils your fun. The raptors flee and the big battleship pounds them so bad. The mission ends soon after. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-9- MISSION 09 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- 14/14 = 9/14 Sensory Array Spark Fighter Commando Squad OMG this is sooo easy! Virtually too easy. [Back To Earth] 1. This is far too easy. First off, you cant save the relay station. Just let it blow up. When mission starts charge your sheild and your guns - set them to 200% as usual and move in front of the relay station. 2. Angel will transfer to the relay station and head to earth to gather information. A lot of chatter ensues. After a while three ships appear on the horizon. They are earth ships. BUT they are attacking you. Defend yourself but dont destroy the razor. One of them will fire three missiles at the station. You cannot stop them all. The station will be destroyed. The docking lights on the razor will flash indicating an SOS. 3. Disable the three ships and then proceed to send a commando squad to the razor. The survivor will give you some information. 4. Mechanoids appear and approach your ship. Dont attack them. Let them come. Angel will be arriving soon. A transmission will come in, in the form of a distress call. Its coming from the station down below. Since the relay station was destroyed, the occupants of the space station align their dish to be able to enable it on remote so that angel can return. They fly out towards you in a shuttle. 5. Just as the mechanoids arrive, angel transmits herself back to the angelwing and prevents the mechanoids from attacking. As soon as the mechanoids leave, the mission ends with your ship jumping out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-10- MISSION 10 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- From now onwards, The pre-mission setup will contain a full component listing of my suggested choices. These choices are based on the individual mission and will change from mission to mission. IA means inaccessable. We get to pound the absolute crap outta some bad little lizards! [Raptor Genocide] 1. This mission is relatively easy. All you really have to do is waste the big ship called the Den. Which is really easy considering you have a cruiser and two destroyers. 2. As soon as you enter the mission, set your weapons to 200% and your weapons online. You wont need your shields at anything other than 100%. You can target a couple of the enemy ships but any damage you do will be negligable next to the two battleships. The battleships lay waste to all the enemy ships except the Den and the raptor base. 3. The base will eventually spit out two missiles. These missiles will annihilate the two battleships on their own. You cannot prevent this. As soon as your two big brothers get wasted, grab whats left and bring them to you to cover each other. Now if you have the overload energy bomb equiped, then you can use it as artillery on the den to waste its shields before going in guns blazing with your ships. You have an alternate objective in the scanning of the raptor base but its purely optional. 4. Once the Den is destroyed, either scan the base, or destroy it. The mission ends when you either scan it or destroy it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-11- MISSION 11 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Marcus Cromwell}- Skill choice | + 1 Engineering -{Angelwing}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Whitelight Heavy Laser Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Overload Energy Bomb Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Hidron Shield, Big Main Engines | Fusion Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | NONE Special Engines | NONE Supports | Spacetech ECM System Other Generators/Supports | ST Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cell | Electron Cell Energy Cell | Electron Cell Energy Cell | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Weapon Energy Generator ------------------------------------------------------- Spark Fighter | x 1 Sickle Gunboat | x 1 Commando Squad | x 1 -{Brutus}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Datascanner Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Burning Fist Heavy Laser Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Silver Gatling Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Ionstream Engine Special Engines | NONE Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Electron Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 2 -{Sparta}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Whitelight Heavy Laser Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Ionstream Engine Special Engines | NONE Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | Secondary Firecloud Generator Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Electron Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 1 Commando Squad | x 1 A huge ship to ship battle! Brilliant! Lots of gorgs to kill! Brilliant! Plus I have the advantage of a fortshield! Brilliant! [First Blood] 1. With regard to the skill choice, I prefer to fight with bigger, better weapons than to fight better with lesser, smaller weapons. But you make up your own mind. OK as soon as the mission starts, move all your ships closer to the Colossus. As soon as your ships are in a pack around the colossus, order the frigates to guard the destroyers and the destroyers to guard the battleship and the angelwing. The idea being that telling them to guard the next ship up from them in class, will put the weakest ones to the back and the stronger ones to the front. This will enable your lesser ships to still fight whilst the bigger ships take the beating. Start pounding away at the closest ships shields. As soon as its down start on its hull. You dont have a lot of time. 2. Next as soon as thats dead or evac'ed start on the next ship. The fortshield should come online any second now. Hurry your ships back behind it, so that the enemy ships follow you. The idea is that you can fire at them whilst they cant touch you. You should be able to pound the crap outta the closest ship so that it goes down. With that one down, it will give you a bit more time until the seige laser comes online and fires. 3. Now comes the hard part. You gotta come out of the shield and attack the enemy on their ground. This is not easy to do without losing one or two ships in the process. Concentrate on the smaller cruisers whilst leaving the battleship alone for the time being. Put all your firepower into the side of one ship at a time. Normally you should be able to get all but the battleship evac'ed before the Valiant jumps out. Unfortunately its unlikely you will be able to stop them all, you just dont have enough time and firepower to take them out fast enough. Beleive me, i have been stuck on this mission for days trying to stop all of them from jumping out but without success. If you manage to do it, let me know! I seriously doubt you will be able to do it without cheating. 4. As soon as you see them, set your weapons to 200% and start draining the shield of the closest gorg ship. If your fast enough, you might be able to start on its hull before its shield comes online. 2. Once both of those ships go down, you should see another two. All of these are simple cruisers which are no match for your firepower. The scout ship should also appear. Use your scout destroyer Brutus to scan the enemy ship Archer. You will find that this ship carries an IP Blocker. Thats one secondary objective completed. You can now blast everything to hell without any kind of regard. The scout ship should be perfectly fine. 3. The scout ship will cloak and jump out once the IP Blocker device goes offline or gets destroyed, or the ship gets blown up. You can either proceed to simply jump out or if your like me and gotta be a good captain and clean up after yourself, you can choose to waste the enemy ships with which will lead to ending the mission as soon as they are dead. Stealth with a cloaking device! WICKED! [Sneaking] 1. This is a relatively easy mission. The hard part is spending heaps of time simply moving very slowly... Well anyway the idea of this mission is to get real close to the station whilst under cloak and release some commandos to transport angel to the station. The idea being to turn the mines and defences over to our side, so that the pending enemy fleets arrival is celebrated with fireworks. Only the fireworks for our pleasure, not theirs. OK as soon as you are able to move, move to any nav point. 2. Once you are well on your way, allocate the reserves to the engines, and leave the rest of the ship alone. Miss sweetwater will tell you the needed information for the mission, including the locations of all the ships, sensors and the base itself. With this information, locate the enemy base that you have to infiltrate. Now with this information, plot a rough course hoping all the way from nav to nav. Remember you have to use the nav points as hoping stones. When the timer runs out, you must be sitting right on top of one of the nav points so that you are not detected when you decloak. 3. It takes 30 seconds for sweetwater's cloak ability to recharge. In that time, you must stay at the nav point. If its a radiation nav point, make sure you select repair priorities of three for each of the devices on your ship going into the red. Espescially if its the cloak device. Kinda funny that, especially if you repair the 'device' when its a chick... how can you repair a chick? 4. OK once you reach the last nav point, be prepared for a mad dash. You will be detected very close to the station. Engage your fastest drive, cancel the cloaking girl and stealth equipment and go max speed to the station, once you are a resonable distance from the station send your marines over. Dont let 15 seconds go by after being detected, as 20 seconds later the shield goes up. 5. Once the marines go in the invisible mines ally to you and you are treated to a massive fireworks display. Ship after ship after ship come out of the wormhole and get instantly incinerated! What a show! 6. Unfortunately the mines arent nearly enough to wipe them all out. However, the enemy fleet is still present with only 25% of its numbers and health. Put your engines to max and get the hell outta there fast. As soon as your a decent distance, wait for the ghost ships to jump in and start wasting the enemy fleet. 7. Once this has started, race back and add your firepower to the mix. You shouldnt have too much trouble mopping up. With the amount of firepower and health that the ghost ships have, and with the fact that the gorg ships concentrate all their firepower on the ghost ship, it should be a peice of cake. Once all the ships are dealt with, the mission will end. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-14- MISSION 14 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Eliminator Heavy Torpedo Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Whitelight Heavy Laser Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Overload Energy Bomb Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Plasmastream Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Stealth Drive Special Engines | NONE Supports | Spacetech ECM System Other Generators/Supports | ST Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Weapon Energy Generator ------------------------------------------------------- Spark Fighter | x 1 Sickle Gunboat | x 1 Commando Squad | x 1 -{Brutus}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Datascanner Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Burning Fist Heavy Laser Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Ionstream Engine Special Engines | NONE Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Electron Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 2 -{Sparta}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Whitelight Heavy Laser Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Ionstream Engine Special Engines | NONE Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | Secondary Firecloud Generator Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 1 Commando Squad | x 1 A big ass fortress to take down! But, but... I am alone!!!! [Titan] 1. This mission can be very hard to accomplish if you dont know many things about it. Such as the fact that you can remain undetected near the wrecks or that the station itself is unprotected from a standard shield. Therefore this mission can be accomplished very easily if you follow these steps to the letter. First, as soon as you enter the mission, pause the game. Then activate the stealth mode behaviour on the bottom left. 2. Now set a course for the wreck named bleeder. Unpause the game and select the base. As soon as the distance to the base reaches 14k, send off 1 spark fighter (or a gunboat) squadron as cannon fodder and 1 sickle gunboat as the main weapon. The device target is the ip blocker. The spark fighter or gunboat in first place will be wiped out with ease. The second will disable to blocker and then die. 3. Now set the angelwing to hold position. She is safe where she is. As soon as the ip blocker goes down, set your cruiser's course for your own ships. Set your engine to 200% and use up at least half of your reserves getting back to your scout destroyers brutus and sparta. Ignore the gunboats. They wont make it back. Its a fair price to pay for the rest of the entire fleet. 4. As soon as the fleet jumps in, group your ships together and set them all to 200% weapon power. Start pummeling the weakest and closest of enemy ships to your fleet. First the shields then the hulls. Remember you can target two ships with different kinds of weapons. If there is a ship with no shields and a ship with them, use shield attack on the shielded ship and hull attack on the one without. The commander of the fleet will be knocked unconcious. This will happen either by the seige laser of the gorgs, or from the enemy battleship coupling firepower with the station later on. Therefore you will get command of his fleet. 5. By this time the station's fort sheild will have been collapsed from all the pressure of the energy torpedoes. Send every single fighter, gunboat and bomber at your disposal to take out the fort shield device on the station. If you dont want your fighters etc to die from the stations explosion, send them back as soon as the fort shield is dead, but in the heat of battle, it can be overlooked. 6. Group the fleet all together and continue to pummel the weakest and closest. Slowly making your way to the enemy base. When you waste enough of the enemy ships, the two smaller ships that made up the seige laser will leave formation and pursue your fleet. Show them who's boss. As soon as you get in range of the enemy base and the enemy fleet has been wiped out, bring your weaker ships, such as destroyers and frigates, out of range (order then to runaway from the station) and then pummel it until it blows. 7. Once you waste all of the enemy fleet, you will get an option to leave or finish the station - you can leave if you want but its more satisfying to blast the enemy whilst they are on the backfoot. It would help a lot if you used your artillery too. You dont need to take out any stragglers if there are any. As soon as the base dies, the mission ends. You will most likely get a medal for your work on the station. You get to tell a few enemy ships to bugger off! [The Mechanoid] 1. The trick to this mission, is the ability that angel has to randomly select an enemy ship and alter things with it. This includes dropping shields, overloading weapons generators, disabling engines, transfering control of it to you for a limted time, and the best of all, activating the ip drive. First off, you have to scan the mechanoid with the datascanner on the brutus. Move all your ship to the mechanoid and once there raise shields manually for all but the brutus. 2. Once scanning is complete angel will transfer to the mechanoid and assume control (after reciting a bit of poerty of course) and the fun begins. An entire fleet of gorg ships jump in and begin to attack. Set your datascanner destroyers shield back on and be ready for a fight. You will notice that the enemy fleet is double yours. Dont worry that number will dwindle to half that very soon. Angel will change things on the enemy ships as mentioned before. Concentrate all your firepower on draining one ships shields and then start on their hull. Dont bother about bloodshed as it will be toast soon enough. 3. Angel tells you that the control of the mechanoid will be lost in 10 minutes. In that time she will use her new abilities on the gorgs. The possible angel abilities and how to use them to your advantage are as follows: o Angel disables the engine of an enemy ship - This is almost worthless but can stop if firing for a limited time if range is greater than its weapons range. o Angel drops the shields of an enemy ship - This is worth a lot as you get a free shot at its hull, so get all of your ships to fire at its hull as much as you can before it goes back online. o Angel overloads the weapons generator of an enemy ship - Its an ok ability as it stops that ship from firing for a limited time. o Angel activates the ip drive of an enemy ship - This is a really good bonus as the ship leaves the scene, never to be heard from again. The problem with this is the ship needs to turn to the direction of travel before it jumps out, this may take some time and may be enough time for the control of the ip drive to be transferred back to the gorgs and hence, will deactivate the ip drive. But since ip drives require the energy that the shields use, their shields go down, so you get a free shot at its hull. Use it. 0 Angel transfers control of an enemy ship to you - This is the best ability of them all. Immediately pause the game and select it and activate the ip drive. Unpause it wait a second so that ip drive to show up and pause it again. What you want to do is see where the ip drive will send it, which you can see with the blue glowing dot. Now select that ship, zoom in and deactivate the ip drive, and move the ship in the exact opposite direction of the blue glowing dot. In other words tell it to move in the same direction that the ip drive will send it. Engage the main drive which is faster. Unpause the game. When it gets close to pointing the desired direction activate the ip drive again and hopefully you have enough time for the drive to jump the ship out. If you manage it, success! You are one ship less and one ship closer to victory. 4. Once a few ships leave or get disabled the timer will run out and the mechanoid will activate and start attacking. Only thing is it will start attacking the enemy gorgs! The firepower of the mechanoid is unbeleivable! In the space of 20 seconds the rest of the entire enemy fleet is dust! Just from a ship that is smaller than a frigate! The mission ends when the gorgs are destroyed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-16- MISSION 16 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Eliminator Heavy Torpedo Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Whitelight Heavy Laser Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Overload Energy Bomb Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Plasmastream Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | Stealth Drive Supports | Standard ECM System Other Generators/Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | L2 Qaurk Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------- Spark Fighter | x 1 Sickle Gunboat | x 2 -{Brutus}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Datascanner Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Burning Fist Heavy Laser Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Deflection Engine Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Electron Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 1 -{Sparta}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Whitelight Heavy Laser Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Lightrider Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Deflection Drive Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | Secondary Firecloud Generator Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Commando Squad | x 1 -{Avalanche}- Normal Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Eliminator Torpedo Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Fusing Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | NONE Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | Standard ECM System Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firecloud Generator ---------------------------------------------------------- Sickle Gunboat | 2 OMG OMG OMG a mass of fighters! Then tell them to attack the warriors once they are done. The flak of your fleet will finish them off. 2. Another wave will come to attack. Same deal. Workers then the warriors. Just tell your ships to hold position and go into defensive behaviour. You can send your fleet out to the mechanoid but its not necessary. Scanning the mechanoid is possible but not entirely necessary. However it does yeald some good things later on. Do as you wish but note that scanning attracts the fighters to the brutus. No shield power. Turn everything you dont need off. Just sit there. 2. As soon as possible send out angelmech to attack one of the two big battleships. She wont destroy or disable it but severely wound it. On angelwing, set absolutely everything off. Shields, weapons engines and even support. Nothing should be light blue on the manual panel. As long as the angelwing sits still and does absolutely nothing, its perfectly fine. The gorgs will set up 1-2 seige lasers. Dont worry about it, angelmech will kill the battleships before they even make a dent. 3. Attack the same battleship again with angelmech and disable it. As soon as it gets disabled, send angel to attack the other battleship. She will only kill its shields. No matter. Wait for the recharge, send her out again to disable. Then as soon as its out of action, start on the bottom of the list and go up, smallest to largest. Disable, disable, disable. 4. Once you have disabled all of the enemy fleet the mission ends. How pathetically easy is that. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-18- MISSION 18 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup] -{Angelwing}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner | Whitelight Heavy Laser Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Crisis Energy Torpedo Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Eliminator Torpedo Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Plasmastream Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | Stealth Drive Supports | Torson ECM System Other Generators/Supports | L2 Qaurk Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Qaurk Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Qaurk Support Generator Extra Slot(IA) | Cloaking Device Prototype Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------- Flash Fighter | x 2 Commando Squad | x 1 Peace? Peace? You gotta be kidding! I prefer peices! [Peace Negotiations] 1. This is a relatively easy mission. Your use of angelmech becomes more of an addiction! First off hold position. Dont move. Turn everything on the whole ship off. As soon as you see the enemy gorgs appear, send out angelmech to attack the two battleships. Disable one, then the other. 2. A group of ghosts appear and become yours to command. Use them on the enemy ships. You can use them anyway you like. But dont attack the two medium size ships. You attack them, the rest will scram. I would think you would want to waste the entire fleet. 3. Next start at the bottom of the list and work your way up. You dont need the angelwing. You only need its recharge power for the angelmech. Continue to pound the enemy fleet from smallest to largest until there is none left. When you disable the last one the mission ends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-19- MISSION 19 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup]* -{Angelwing}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Eliminator Heavy Torpedo Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Whitelight Heavy Laser Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Overload Energy Bomb Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Plasmastream Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | NONE Supports | Standard ECM System Other Generators/Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | L2 Qaurk Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------- Spark Fighter | x 1 Sickle Gunboat | x 2 -{Brutus}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Datascanner Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Burning Fist Heavy Laser Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Deflection Engine Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Electron Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 1 -{Sparta}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Whitelight Heavy Laser Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Lightrider Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Deflection Drive Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | Secondary Firecloud Generator Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Commando Squad | x 1 -{Avalanche}- Normal Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Eliminator Torpedo Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Fusing Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | NONE Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | Standard ECM System Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firecloud Generator ---------------------------------------------------------- Sickle Gunboat | 2 -{Guardian}- You have to be kidding. These missions are getting easier I swear. [Locust Queen] 1. First off Set your weapon power to 200% and then group your entire fleet into group 1, ready for the seige laser formation. Send every fighter you have to guard your fleet. You will need them. Set defensive behaviour and start moving closer to the queen. When you get within a reasonably safe distance, fire your seige laser 3 times at the locust queen. No more. 2. Now send brutus in to scan the queen. Harrah! A new weapon. Energy Skeeters. Wow cool! [Alpha Gate] 1. Move your fleet right up to the enemy vardrag ship. They should open up on you. Relax, their weapons should be no match for your shields. Dont worry about taking out these ships. You will get that chance in the next mission. Now set to work on scanning all of the ships. The station should blow up but dont worry, you dont need it or anything. 2. To make things a little bit easier, you can use gunboats to attack the weapons generators of the vardrag ships. The mechanoids should light up. Use your energy skeeter weapons on them. They are pretty helpless against them. 3. Once all your scanning is complete the mission should end. However if it does not, there is a bug in this mission that you have to scan in a set order all the ship. You ONLY have to scan the three ships, nothing else. Just scan them in a different order. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-21- MISSION 21 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Pre-Mission Setup]* -{Angelwing}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons | Eliminator Heavy Torpedo Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Whitelight Heavy Laser Heavy Weapons/Normal Weapons | Overload Energy Bomb Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Plasmastream Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | NONE Supports | Standard ECM System Other Generators/Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | L2 Qaurk Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell Energy Cell | Plasma Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------- Spark Fighter | x 1 Sickle Gunboat | x 2 -{Brutus}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Datascanner Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Burning Fist Heavy Laser Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Plasmatorch Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Plasma Engine Special Engines | Deflection Engine Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Electron Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firecloud Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Spark Fighter | x 1 -{Sparta}- Normal Weapons/Datascanner(IA)| Whitelight Heavy Laser Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Small Main Engines | Lightrider Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Deflection Drive Supports | Sensor Array Supports | NONE Other Generators/Supports | Secondary Firecloud Generator Other Generators/Supports | NONE Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Tactical Firestorm Generator ------------------------------------------------------------ Commando Squad | x 1 -{Avalanche}- Normal Weapons | Particle Gatling Gun Normal Weapons/Special Weapons| Eliminator Torpedo Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Magma Plasma Gun Normal Weapons/Heavy Weapons | Bubble Energy Shell Special Weapons | Laserglobe Flak System Special Weapons | Laser Ring Flak System Shields | Layer Shield, Big Main Engines | Fusing Engine Secondary Engines | Secondary Fusion Engine Special Engines | Combat Drive Special Engines | NONE Supports | Advanced Sensor Array Other Generators/Supports | Standard ECM System Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Other Generators/Supports | L2 Fusion Support Generator Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Plasma Cell Energy Cells | Electron Cell IP Drive(IA) | IP Drive Extra Slot | Combat Firecloud Generator ---------------------------------------------------------- Sickle Gunboat | 2 This mission requires speed. And lots of it. Burn those engines dry! [Mechanoid Invasion] 1. First off. Set your battleships engines to 200%. Set its course for the stargate. Set your other ships to protect the battleship. Launch every fighter you have and tell them to protect the battleship. You will need them. Send angelmech out to start on the biggest of the enemy vardrag ships. 2. Next, as soon as you get within 15k of the 3 enemy ships, they will open up on you, this will start the fight. They should send out a cataclysm missile, but your flak and fighters should take it out without you even knowing about it. Turn everything except shield and engines off, on the angelwing. Set your group up for a seige laser attack. Set the battleships weapons to 200%. Start on the biggest of the three ships. This will take some time. As soon as its disabled, start on the closest. As soon as angelmech is charged again, send it out to attack the last of the three enemy ships. 3. The second one shouldnt take a lot of punishment. Set the seige laser to work on the last of the enemy ships. Once that is down you should be very close to the stargate. Now bring back all of your fighters and dock them. Wait for them to dock before seige lasering the stargate. Once this is dead the mission will end. One hell of an explosion later that is. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-22- MISSION 22 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [The Fall Of The Vardrags] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-23- MISSION 23 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-24- MISSION 24 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-25- MISSION 25 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ -X-26- MISSION 26 ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [] _______________________________________________________________________ ~ -XII- Multiplayer Tactics ~ _______________________________________________________________________ Submit yours! OMG OMG OMG! I have finally started a brand new FAQ for a brand new game! Im so excited! And I just cant... You get the idea. Anyway this is barely a skeleton at the moment but I can assure you that things will fill up soon. Just check out my other FAQ for Homeworld 2. The updates were like a virus! Spreading to the far corners of the guide like a plague! Anyway enough of the rubbish. I do hope you enjoy this FAQ and/or the Homeworld 2 FAQ. If you have any queries, questions or problems, dont hesitate to contact me in any of the previously mention methods. Of course spam and/or flames will be dutiously ignored. But of course I have never had one of those yet so I may just have a little bit of fun. ~o~ I have finally decided to get going on the walkthrough even though its gunna take a fooking long time to complete seeing as how this game has reportedly got 26 missions. Ah well tally ho I guess. No pain no gain. I cant wait till the inevitable first patch comes out which will fix a few very small little glitches and errors. But hey I am not really concerned with that. The game is awesome and that is all I care about. The walkthrough, I have decided will be based upon the professional difficulty setting as I beleive people should be able to at least complete the game on difficulty to really feel the game and therefore enjoy it. Boy this is gunna take a while to complete. Well my homeworld 2 guide took more than a year to complete and I am still not finished! Tally ho tally ho... its off to work I go... ~o~ Hmm I am getting there slowly. The end of the game is within sight. I know I will get there soon. Its just a matter of time. 26 missions is a fair number. Espescially if its the same campaign. I am getting a lot of cool ideas from the official forums. Thanks guys. This FAQ I beleive wont take anywhere near as long as the previous because its a smaller game with smaller things in it. Regardless though, it will take time to get through this campaign and finish the walkthrough with the knowledge that every mission that I have written a strat for will work exactly the way I say it will. When it all comes down to it, its you guys that actually make me want to be sure that everything is accurate and everything works. I really do appreciate all the response I get. I am yet to find out what is going on with gamefaqs and why they have yet to host this guide. I will eventually find that out but of course, right now, it continues to elude me. ~o~ Almost finished the campaign. I have been told about many bugs or errors in the game that deny your completion of mission objectives. I have yet to run into one of those. It seems that if that many people are complaining about the same thing, then it must exist and I just must be accidently without knowing it, bypassing these errors. Although I am glad that I have not met one of them, I am hopeful for a patch to come out to fix these obvious issues. Until then we shall have to make do with a bugged game. I would hope that if anyone cannot pass a mission when using my guide as a reference, that they would notify me so I can check it out and if needed, refine my strats. So please, if you cannot win a mission playing the way I described, email me asap and Ii will have a good look at what your doing, and why you are not able to finish the mission. Regards, Mouse. ~End of line.
