1) Legal Info and other info

Hi, my username is LoC Leftie, and that is my Halo username as well. This is my first guide and 
it's about my favorite PC game, Halo Combat Evolved. In this guide I will give out information, 
regarding the 1-player mode, gathered by me about all of the weapons and vehicles in Halo. This 
guide is not to be copied by anybody unless told by myself. This guide is made specifically for 
Cheathappens and therefore has my permission to be posted on the site. I will give out two 
categories of information in weapons and vehicles, Human and Covenant. I will post human 
weapons and vehicles in the human category and Covenant weapons and vehicles in the 
Covenant category. I will rate the weapons on a scale of bad to good. Fire/throw speed is the 
time it takes in between each shot.

2) Human Weapons
These are the weapons that your group of humans will possess and possibly give to you at certain 
times in the game.

2.1) Pistol

Real Name: M6D Pistol
Bullets per round:12
Maximum rounds: 10
Fire Speed: Medium 
Distance: Far
Accuracy: Very good
Damage: Medium
Other Notes: The pistol comes with a 2x Scope, which is helpful for long ranged attacks.


2.2) Assault Rifle

Real Name: MA5B Assault Rifle
Bullets per round: 60
Maximum rounds: 10
Fire Speed: Very Fast
Distance: Average
Accuracy: Good
Damage: Medium
Other notes: Good to be used in short bursts, not as a machine gun. Comes with a built in ammo 
counter and a compass.


2.3) Shotgun

Real Name: M90 Shotgun
Bullets per round: 12
Maximum Rounds: 5
Fire Speed: Medium
Distance: Short
Accuracy: Low
Damage: High
Other notes: Shoots 12-16 bullets per fire, reloads slowly, if close enough to strong enemies it 
can be a one-hit kill.


2.4) Rocket Launcher

Real Name: M199 SM Rocket Launcher
Bullets per Round: 2
Maximum Rounds: 
Fire Speed: Slow
Distance: Very Far
Accuracy: Excellent
Damage: High
Other notes: Very slow to reload, if it's a direct hit then usually a one-hit kill. Rockets travel 
through the air slowly.


2.5) Sniper Rifle

Real Name: S2 AM Sniper Rifle
Bullets per Round: 4
Maximum Rounds: 6
Fire Speed: Medium
Distance: Very Far
Accuracy: Excellent
Damage: High
Other notes: If it's a headshot (a bullet to the head) then it will almost always be a one-hit kill. 
Comes with 2x, 4x, and 8x Scope.


2.6) Warthog Chain Gun

Real Name: M41 LAAG
Bullets per round: Unlimited
Maximum Rounds: Unlimited
Fire Speed: Very Fast
Distance: Far
Accuracy: Good
Damage: High
Other notes: The fastest shooting gun in the game, it is always attached to a warthog. The farther 
away your target is, the less accurate your shots will be.


2.7) Frag Grenade

Real Name: M9 HE-DP Grenade
Grenades per throw: 1
Maximum Grenades to hold: 4
Throw speed: Slow
Distance: Average
Accuracy: Good
Damage: High
Other notes: You can only hold four Frag Grenades at a time, they can be a one-hit kill if you are 
directly on target. Accuracy varies, and it takes a little while in between turns to throw 
continuous grenades.


3) Covenant Weapons
These are the weapons that the covenant, aliens who want to eliminate all humans, possess. The 
weapons will be getting stronger as you move further into the game. Some guns possess plasma 
and energy as their ammo. Also, the covenant weapons don't have "Real Names", but I'll still 
add that part.


3.1) Plasma Pistol

Real Name: Plasma Pistol
Bullets per 1%: 3
Maximum battery percentage: 100
Fire Speed: Medium
Distance: Short
Accuracy: Good
Damage: Medium
Other notes: If you charge up a plasma pistol, it uses about 11% of your ammo. But it also deals 
out good accuracy, it is a bit heat seeking, and the damage is high, but you will have to hold 
down the fire button for it to charge up, which might take awhile.

 
3.2) Plasma Rifle

Real Name: Plasma Rifle
Bullets per 1%: 2
Maximum battery percentage: 100
Fire Speed: Fast
Distance: Short
Accuracy: Bad
Damage: Medium
Other notes: The Plasma Rifle can shoot continuously if you hold the fire button down. But 
watch the heat meter below your battery level, if it gets too heated up you will have to stop for a 
moment to let the gun cool down. When you are holding down the fire button you can shoot 
around 20-25 bullets until your gun overheats.


3.3) The Needler

Real Name: The Needler
Bullets per round: 20
Maximum Rounds: 4
Fire Speed: Fast
Distance: Short
Accuracy: Good
Damage: Low-High
Other notes: The Needler's needles are heat seeking if you are close enough to an enemy, and 
when engorged into your target will make small explosions. If you shoot a number of the needles 
they can be fatal to your enemy, depending on what enemy it is and how many needles you 
shoot.


3.4) Plasma Grenade

Real Name: Plasma Grenade
Grenades per Throw: 1
Maximum Grenades to hold: 4
Throw speed: Slow
Distance: Average
Accuracy: Good
Damage: High
Other notes: If you have good enough aim, the Plasma Grenade will stick to your target and 
eventually explode, usually causing a one-hit kill. Plasma grenades can usually be found from 
Grunts, and when you kill them they may sometimes drop some.


3.5) Stationary Gun

Real Name: Shade Stationary Gun
Bullets per Round: Unlimited
Maximum Rounds: Unlimited
Fire Speed: Medium
Distance: Medium
Accuracy: Good
Damage: High
Other notes: This gun is usually found in areas where the Covenant are highly guarding. These 
guns aren't attached to any vehicles, but are sometimes held by Covenant Dropships.


3.6) Plasma Sword

Real Name: Plasma Sword
Bullets Per Round: None
Maximum Rounds: None
Swipe Speed: Medium
Distance: Short
Accuracy: Excellent
Damage: High
Other notes: This weapon can only be carried by Gold or Camouflaged Elites. Unfortunately 
when you kill the Elite, the Sword dies as well, so you can't take it. This sword shoots no bullets, 
but instead swipes at opponents as far as the sword is long.

3.7) Fuel Rod Gun

Real Name: Fuel Rod Gun
Bullets per 1%: .25
Maximum percentage: 100
Fire Speed: Medium
Distance: Far
Accuracy: Good
Damage: High
Other notes: Like the Plasma Pistol, the battery can get overheated if you shoot continuously for 
too long. You can shoot only one bullet for every 4%. 


4) Human Vehicles
In this section I will give out my information about the human's vehicles.
I will rate these vehicles as follows:
ex: Speed- Slow<Medium<Fast<Very Fast
Handling- Hard<Average<Easy 
(Hard is that it is difficult to make sharp turns)


4.1) Warthog

Real Name: M12 LRV
Seats: 3 (Driver, Side, Gunner)
Speed: Fast
Handling: Easy
Gun: Gunner Seat, Warthog Chain Gun
Other Notes: Most of the time you can't control the gun, but sometimes you can. This is 
probably one of the best vehicles in the game. The gun has unlimited ammo.


4.2) Scorpion

Real Name: M808B Scorpion MGT Tank
Seats: 3 (Driver, 2 Side seats)
Speed: Slow
Handling: Average
Gun: Tank Gun, Secondary Gun
Other notes: Both guns have unlimited ammo. The tank gun shoots very far, fast, and is very 
powerful. The other gun is a little inaccurate machine gun which is a backup for when your tank 
gun is reloading. Make sure enemies do not get in back of you when you are in the tank; it is 
hard to turn around and could take a little time, hopefully your enemy doesn't have a strong gun.


4.3) Pelican

Real Name: Pelican
Seats: Around 15
Speed: Medium
Handling: Average
Gun: None
Other notes: You cannot control this vehicle in the game. You only get picked up and dropped 
off by it. 


4.4) Longsword Fighter

Real Name: Longsword Fighter
Seats: Over 20
Speed: Medium
Handling: Average
Gun: None
Other Notes: This vehicle cannot be piloted by the player. It is just a defense against the 
Covenant ships and capital ships.

4.5) The Pillar of Autumn

Real Name: UNSC Cruiser Pillar of Autumn
Seats: Over 30
Speed: Slow
Handling: Average
Gun: None
Other notes: This is the first vehicle in the game, and you are riding inside it, when it is attacked 
by the Covenant. You cannot pilot this ship, instead you try to flee it.


4.6) Lifepod

Real Name: Lifepod
Seats: 10
Speed: Very Fast
Handling: Easy
Gun: None
Other Notes: This is just another vehicle that you can't control. It was attached to a ship, but it is 
now floating freely in space. A lot of human ships have lifepods, in case of sudden emergencies 
and you needing to abandon the ship.


5) Covenant Vehicles
These are vehicles that the Covenant have or after you kill them, had.

5.1) Ghost

Real Name: Ghost
Seats: 1
Speed: Very Fast
Handling: Average
Gun: Plasma Gun
Other Notes: The Ghost is the lightest vehicle in the game, it is like a mini banshee. It has one 
gun, and it can move in all four directions. Unfortunately, it is flipped very easily.


5.2) Banshee

Real Name: Banshee
Seats: 1
Speed: Fast
Handling: Easy
Gun: Plasma Gun and Fuel Rod Bombs
Other notes: When you shoot down an enemy in single player in a banshee, the banshee will 
explode, therefore not allowing you to fly it. Still, if you ever find an unharmed banshee, it is 
great for running enemies over. The banshee comes with a plasma bomb, and you have to wait 
four seconds after each bomb to fire another. You can shoot plasma blasts in between bombings 
though.


5.3) Wraith

Real Name: Wraith Mortar Tank
Seats: Unknown
Speed: Medium
Handling: Average
Gun: Plasma Blasts
Other Notes: This is one of the deadliest vehicles in the game. You really want to watch out for 
the plasma blasts, because they can be deadly. Unfortunately, you cannot control it.


5.4) Dropship

Real Name: Covenant Dropship
Seats: Unknown
Speed: Medium
Handling: Average
Gun: Shade Stationary Gun
Other Notes: You can't control this vehicle. This is the ship that drops off covenant aliens. You 
can't destroy this ship, so don't waste any ammo on it.


5.5) Capital Ship
Real Name: Capital Ship
Seats: Unknown
Speed: Slow
Handling: Hard
Gun: None
Other Notes: This vehicle is the Covenant's main defense ship. Like the Longsword Fighter, it 
was built to protect the Covenant from unwanted forces. Unfortunately, you can't drive this 
vehicle.
