Introduction This is the second chapter in my writing a FAQ for Gun the Game. This one should cover the rest of the basics and advanced features of the game. If you are looking at this and have not read the first FAQ on Gun you need to hit back on your browser and read the introduction to understand the story line. **************************************** II. Basic and Advanced Controls The keypad configuration is only valid if the controller is still set to default controls. Health-- By pressing the UP on your control pad you take a drink from your flask. Think of the flask as a health pack once the flask is empty you are out of health packs. Gun controls-- By pressing the right trigger you draw your weapon, by pressing it again you fire your weapon. If you press the Down button on your control pad you holster your weapon. To reload you your weapon you have to push in on the left joystick. When the Y button is pushed you enter what is called Quick Draw mode this is where time slows down and gives you a huge advantage. While in Quick Draw mode a push left or right on the Left control stick will cycle you through the enemies available. Here is were it gets tricky, your primary weapon is you pistol the secondary weapon can be either the rifle, bow, sharpshooter, or the shotgun. To access the secondary weapon you need to first press and hold the Black button. It will give you a option screen in the bottom right of your screen from there you need to push up for rifle, down for shotgun, right for bow, left for sharpshooter. Also in that screen you can press the right trigger to equip the whiskey bomb or the left trigger to equip dynamite. While fighting to use the dynamite or whiskey bomb you need to press the left trigger. While the dynamite is equiped you can press and hold the left trigger, after this is done it will give you a option to press the White button to double the fuse. If you double the fuse it will take the dynamite longer to explode. Stealth Controls-- If you stun or sneak up on a person you have the option to grab them by pressing the White button. Once a person is in your arms you can chose to use them as a shield until there health runs out or you can slit there throat by pressing the X button. In the Bounties missions you can't slit there throat but you can Subdue them. You can also release them by pressing the White button again. Colton Controls-- You can lean left or right by pressing the corresponding button on the control pad. You can also do a barrel roll by leaning left or right and double tapping the B buttons. You will roll in the direction that you are leaning. Your camera is controlled by the Right thumbstick. You can crouch by hitting the B button. Horse Controls-- To mount and dismount your horse hit the White button when you are closeThe direction the horse moves is controlled by the left thumb stick. To make the horse jump you need to press the A button. To make the horse go faster you can spur him with the B button (Be very careful you CAN kill your horse by riding it to hard). Your horse can also be used as a weapon, first you can press the X button to have your rear up and kick his legs for a kill. You can also push the left thumb stick left or right then hit X to do a skid attack (the horse must be moving). Your horse's health meter will appear around your health meter, watch it closely if you ride the horse to hard or he gets shot a lot he will die. Melee Controls-- At any point (not including horseback) no matter if your weapons are drawn you can hit X to the do a melee attack. ******************************************** III. Side Mission FAQ First off let me say this you need to play the side missions, they raise all of your stats and they are the only way to do this. A. Poker Tournament-- This is basic Texas Hold'em there is not a lot I can tell you about it. It is found first in Dodge City after you beat the first the missions of it moves to Empire. In poker there is a option to cheat, there is one card that is shadowed that is the cheat card. B. Hunting-- This is one of the more difficult side missions. You need to find the Indian Hunter, he is located right down from Magruder's mine. Once you find him he will tell you what you are hunting, it is a optional mission so the map won't show you where the animal is. Once you get close to the animal a little bar will pop down from the top of your screen and tell you that you are close. DON'T stay on your horse get off and hit the B button to crouch. The animal you are hunting will have a green name above it so it is easy to spot. Also DON'T use your gun you must use your bow. Know then you have to sneak close enough to put a arrow in it head, (one shot one kill) if you don't it will run away and you have to find it again. Stat raised HEALTH, GUNHAND, MELEE, QUICKDRAW. C. Bounties-- All around the game you will see posters, walk up to them and hit the button that pops up on your screen (I am sorry I don't remember the button you have to hit). It will cut to a scene and tell you want the person did, where they can be found, and if the are wanted dead or alive. Most of the time you make more money it you take them alive, to take them alive you need to wound them, walk up to them and hit the White button to grab them, then hit X to subdue them. Stat raised HEALTH, GUNHAND, MELEE, QUICKDRAW. D. Ranch Hand-- There isn't much I can tell you about this. It consist of fending of wolfs, bandits, and thieves. You also have to heard the cows up into there pens. Stat raised HORSE. E. Pony Express-- In this part you are given a certain time to do various favors for people. All of the missions require you to ride a horse from point to point doing these favors. Stat raised HORSE. F. Rescue-- This part you have to do exactly what the title says save various people from bandits, outlaws, Indians, and wild animal’s. Stat raised HEALTH, GUNHAND, MELEE, QUICKDRAW. G. Lawman-- In this side mission you have to be the town deputy. Which entitles you to do everything for stopping a robbery to breaking up a alley brawl. Stat raised HEALTH, GUNHAND, MELEE, QUICKDRAW. H. Mining-- This is not a side mission in the sense that you can mine any gold that you find. When you see a pile of gold walk up to it and hit the White button to mine. All gold mining gives you ten dollars. You also need a pick axe to mine they can be found at Dodge city, talk to the merchant. I. Showdown- This isn't really a side mission. Showdown's happen when your disturb the peace in town. A posse comes to try to kill you, once you beat them the showdown is over. As I said before all of these side missions are the only way to boost your stats. With the exception of the Poker Tournament it just gives you money. ***************************************************** IV.
