You may know me from the forums at cheathappens.com, my username is Whit3Ghost. I've been around there for almost a year now and have had a great time. I thought that making a second FAQ would be much worth the time. So I gave a crack at making an Achievement Guide for GTA IV. I hope it helps you get the Achievements you are having trouble with and also, feel free to send me a private message and offer some feedback, any comments are welcome. ========================= = 1.2 - Copyright Info = ========================= This guide is exclusive to cheathappens.com. Though, if you ask for permission I will allow you to. ========================= = 1.3 - The Game = ========================= Grand Theft Auto IV (abbreviated to GTA IV and GTA 4) is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North. It is the ninth title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the first in its fourth generation. The game is set in a redesigned rendition of Liberty City, a fictional city based heavily on modern day New York City. It follows Niko Bellic, a war veteran from Eastern Europe, who comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, only to find his cousin has lied about the wealth that was promised to be awaiting him. Niko Bellic soons finds out in the end what the American Dream feels like... This was written from Wikipedia. ============================================= = 2 - Getting Started = ============================================= ========================= = 2.1 - Game Controls = ========================= Here are the controls for the main storyline and online multiplayer. (60G) - Complete the final mission ================================== = 3.2 - Getting the Achievements = ================================== Now that you know what each achievement is, I'll cover on how to get them all. Starting from Single Player Achievements. ===SINGLE PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS=== Off the Boat (5G) Complete the first mission. Watch through the whole cutscene or skip and get to the driving part. Follow the yellow route to your destination and you will unlock the achievement. Lowest Point (5G) Complete mission "Roman's Sorrow". In order to get the achievement, you will need to have fought Dimitri's men in a warehouse. Once done fighting all the way to the top, a man will point a gun to Roman's head. To save Roman, point a gun to the target and walk toward him. Keep walking toward him, then he will shoot you. Now is your chance to shoot him! Once you kill the kidnapper, get Roman out of there and drive to the highlighted route. After you finish that mission, Roman will call you and whisper for you to meet him. He will be in the trunk of a car, since he has been worried of the events going on. He will ask for you to drive him home. Roman and you will soon see your safehouse in flames. He will then ask to be driven to his Taxi Service building. That will be in flames also. Then you will have to drive to Bohan, where Mallorie is living. Then you unlock the achievement. Fed The Fish (5G) Complete the mission "Uncle Vlad". Once you see the words at the bottom right of the screen, "Uncle Vlad", for the mission, make sure you have at least a pistol, a shotgun, or a machine gun. Doesn't matter which, because you will have to kill Vlad. You start the mission meeting up with Roman in his Taxi Service building, drinking by himself. He knows that Vlad has been seeing her, and Niko had an idea that could have been happening. So you then have to take Roman to Comrades Bar in Romans cab. Once you get there, Niko kicks open the door while Roman follows and tries to stop the situation. After all the talking, Vlad calls his henchmen to kill you, while he runs out the door, into a car for his getaway. As said before, make sure you have a pistol or anyother gun. It will make the fight easier. If you aren't, try using a knife, or your fists to take one out at a time. Once the two are taken out, run out the back door and get into the car, which Roman is already in, and drive after Vlad. Vlad is the red dot on your HUD, so keep track of his route until he stops. Now, get out of your car to where he has stopped and watch the cutscene. Then, kill him. It is best with a pistol because Niko pulls off an Execustion move. Then he pushes the body into the Ocean. Now you are finished. Impossible Trinity (10G) Complete mission "Museum Piece". Ray sends you to a Diamond Deal and to meet up with his associate, Johnny, outside of the Libertonian Museum. Inside, the Deal gets ambushed and you have to fight your way out of the Museum. Any kind of Machine gun or Sub Machine gun would be needed. If not, use a pistol if you would have one at the time and search for the right gun your looking for. It would be a problem if you had nothing. If you don't have anything at all, run to an enemy, and punch him till he is taken out and take his weapon. Then take out the rest of the enemies around the museum once you find them. Once outside, you will fine cars on the side entrance, take one, or take out the drivers if you don't want to be followed by shooting crew members. Once they lose you, the mission is won. Gracefully Taken (10G) Complete mission "I'll Take Her". Gerry tell you to kidnap the Anceloti's daughter. So go to an Internet Cafe and go on AutoEroticar.com, then look for a Pink Feltzer. Save the number then just call the Mob Daughter when told to and once you get to the destination of the car and herself, you will take a test drive. After a while of test driving, she will ask, "ready to stop the test drive?" and it will say to start the kidnapping. Drive off and she will start freaking out. Once she starts hitting you, stop the car until you slap her and knock her out. Then continue your drive to the safe house. Once there, a guy will take the Anceloti's Daughter upstairs into the safe house. Mission completed. That Special Someone (10G) Complete mission "That Special Someone". You start by receiving a call by the guy from United Liberty Paper saying that he has found the guy Niko has been looking for. After the call, you have to contact Roman saying that you are finally going to face the man he's been looking for. Roman wants to come, so you pick him up and head to the scene. Once there, a guy from a van from United Liberty Paper throws the man out of the vehicle leaving him to face Niko. You soon find out that the man is named Niko and he betrayed his friends a while back in Europe for money and killed them all. Niko was the only survivor. So from there on he wanted revenge on Darko. After the cutscene, choose to kill or leave Darko. After you make your choice, drive Roman to Brucie's place. You Won! (60G) Complete the final mission, which is either killing Dimitri(Deal instead of taking Revenge ending) or Jimmy(Revenge ending) which both killings take place on Happiness Island. Its up to you to decide who to kill there. But if you choose Revenge, you kill Dimitri and Jimmy, so when outside the first warehouse where Jimmy is hiding, make sure you have a Rocket Launcher because there are many of his henchmen there. With Dimitri, in Revenge, you kill him on the ship you arrive with to Liberty City in the beginning. Save a lot of guns. For Deal ending, you take his Helicopter out and chase him on Happiness Island. AK-47 is best for that. Now you can work on the rest of achievements such as "Key To The City" which I will give you the checklist to later. Full Exploration (20G) Unlock all the islands. Play through the story for a while until after one mission, you get the achievement. Such as the mission where you rob a bank with Packie and his buddies. This is an easy one. Liberty City Minute (30G) Complete the story missions in less than 30 hours. Take a Taxi as often as possible on Missions. Also save the side-quests until the end of the game. Canceling dates with friends also saves some time. Work on this achievement in the weekend (if you have school) or whenever(if your in summer) because you will have to play the game's missions FAST and FURIOUS. Take breaks once and a while then get back into the action. You should be going through your second time and knowing all the missions. So take some time for this one until you are fully ready. Half Million (55G) Reach a balance of $500,000. Pretty easy to get. Just don't go buying a ton of stuff and avoid frequent hospital visits. They take A LOT of money from you. Try not to get in street fights and avoid car crashes, which go into hospital visits. There are two missions in the story that reward $250,000, so don't be afraid to spend money on taxi rides, body armor, and weapons. You can buy weapons when Jacob likes you at 75% or just buy them later in the game. ===SIDE OBJECTIVES=== Assassin's Greed (20G) Complete all 9 assassin missions. These aren't available until later in the story on the final island. These missions are given to you by a mysterious voice who only accepts calls from a pay phone near the gun shop in Alderney. You can unlock these missions after the "Truck Hustle" mission. At the start of each mission, you will be given weapons and body armor at the other side of the fence, behind the telephone. * Bailing Out For Good: There is a guy leaving the police station and getting into a car. His four friends are all armed with weapons. Be careful. Either use a sniper or RPG on your target. * Migration Control: The target is in front of the helipad, on top of the tunnel entrance. Drive up to the helipad using the walkway to the left of the tunnel entrance, and you can walk up and shoot him easily with any gun of your choice. I used a Desert Eagle for that one. $3000 earned. * Industrial Action: This mission is held at the refinery. They're up in the scaffolding high above ground level. Charging them will cause them to escape out the back. The best way to do this mission is to go up the yellow staircase on the south side of the refinery. This blocks their escape and lets you take them out with an RPG, AK-47, or sniper rifle. $7500 earned. As you may notice, you earn more money each mission. * Derelict Target: There are three targets in an abandoned building, but they have body guards. You don't have to kill the guards. In the back of the building one of the targets is hanging out on the ground floor. This is the only exit, and this is the only guy who will try to escape. The other two targets are in the building above him. The best way to do this is with a helicopter. Land on one of the nearby buildings and snipe the guy on the ground floor, then fly to the abandoned building and shoot your way down the stairs. You can use the helicopter to easily escape your wanted level. Also, I would highly recommend an MP5 or AK-47 for this. * Water Hazard: Head over to the location, you'll see a sailboat with the target on the deck. It's a difficult sniper shot because the boat is moving up and down and the target is standing behind someone else. If you miss, she will pull out a sniper rifle and return fire. But give it your best shot, and try again if you die. * Dead End: Head over to the location and you'll see the target get away in an SUV. Chase it, but when it goes into an alley, don't follow. Go around the other side, drive in, then back out. The alley is an ambush. Your new mission is to take out all the enemies there. They tend to bunch up, so the RPG works well. Grenades and an extra weapon like an AK-47 will come in handy. * Hook, Line and Sinker: head over to the abandoned mansion at the north end of Alderney. If you take just a few steps into the water, you can snipe the target. The other way to do it is to use the boat just off shore. Head for the target boat, and when you get near it, it will flee. Chase it down and shoot the driver. Don't bother going back to you car, it will have disappeared. For the mission, use an SMG. Works better in that case. * R.U.B. Down: Kill all the targets, the problem is they'll hop on their bikes and drive in different directions. Stand across the street and fire a volley of rockets at them to kill them before they can get away. If they get past you, rapid fire on them when on a bike. * Taken Out: take out the target in the moving car. It's a limo, and it moves slowly. Pull in front of it, step out and use an RPG. Cleaned the Mean Streets (20G) Capture 20 criminals through the police computer. Once the LCPD computers are online, you can access vigilante missions from the computer in any squad car. Looks for criminals on foot. These are extremely easy to run over or shoot down. If an on foot mission isn't available, drive around a bit and then check the computer again. It's really not that hard. Manhunt (15G) Complete the Most Wanted side missions from the police computer. These become available once the police computers are functional. There are 3 sets of most wanted missions. One set per major island. Here is a list from the first island criminals, to the last island of criminals. ===ALGONQUIN AREA=== SHON KIKUCHI Hangs out in North Holland, Algonquin. He is in a moving sportscar, and will flee to the south when you approach. Take him out without a problem. MP5 or an UZI will work, or just ram his car until it explodes. JIMMY KAND Hangs out in Northwood Algonquin on the second floor of a project building, where Dywane lives. He's passed out when you find him, so you can just walk up to him and knife him, or blast him to the head with a pistol. SIMON NASHLY Hangs out in the Fishmarket in Algonquin. There are six men to take out. They are spread out, and none of them attempt to flee. There are stairs to the third level and are located at the front and rear of the building. AK-47 works like a charm for this one. TOMMY FRANCOVIC Located in Castle Garden City. When you approach he'll flee on a motorcycle. He will circle the block at least once. Shoot him to get him off his bike, then he'll shoot at you with a Micro SMG. Shoot him and pick up the money he drops. Four down so far, six to go in Algonquin. BARRY LAMORA Hangs out at the Colony Island Apartments. There are three of them, one is armed with a shotgun, another with a Russian assault rifle. These two will fight, the other will run. take them out with an Uzi. Five to go. LINO FRIDDELL Hangs in Middle Park. There are three targets in a narrow alley. Run them over with your car, you can get all three with one pass. Four to go. JUAN HAIMO In star junciton, Algonquin. There are three targets on motorcycles. They'll flee as soon as you approach, so either ram them when you arrive, or hit them from a distance with your RPG or sniper rifle. Three more. You get the idea that this is really simple. DARREN COVEY At the Purgatory, Algonquin. The suspects are in a large parking structure. They won't try to flee,so you have a lot of freedom in deciding how to take them out. Long distance sniping, frontal assault with an assault rifle, or running them down with a car are all good options. It's what I do with every criminal. Two more. LEA BRODELL Found in East Holland. You can enter the suspect's building through a door on the north side. When target is acquired, fire away. One more to go until island criminals are cleared. CHRISTOV MAHONVIC Christov Located in the garbage garage at fishmarket south. Use the back door in the northwest sideof the building for a superior tactical entry. Use any kind of gun, except a pistol since there are a dozen of the suspect's henchmen inside. Now after taking Christov out you can move on to the second island. ===BROKER,DUKES,BOHAN=== MAXWELL CAUGHLIN These guys are located in a compound. One of them has an RPG, so if you choose to attack with a car keep moving. When you want to attack, use a sniper for long range or use a machine gun. They work well for guys with RPG's. SCOTT GUZOWSKI He and his three friends are in a park in northwest Dukes. The road to the west is a good shooting location. They are on foot and will not try to escape. This is your choice to use firearms are beat the crap out of them. Beating the crap out of people is fun, too. Try using melee counters, they work good in those kind of fights. ANTONIO RIVETTE This guy is located in South Slopes, on the train platform. Take out all five of them. RPG for quick matters or an AK-47. Choice is on you. RODRIGO STAVENES Suspect located in Steinway. He and his gang are in a building and there are two exits. They'll try to run out the opposite door you enter, so you may want to park your car on one side and go in the other. Once you find the suspect and his gand, get in cover, then blow them away with any gun of your choice. FERNANDO TISDEL Fernando will try to escape in his car as soon as you get near. Arrive from the east, because he'll flee to the west. He'll shoot at you, so shoot back and chase him down. While shooting in the pursuit, ram him down until his car is on fire. He'll either get out, or be an idiot, and die in the explosion. TYLER PICKREL Located at the Monoglobe in Meadows Park. He's on foot, and will try to run away when you attack him. Use your car to chase him down. Ram him down or use guns. It takes longer though when you try to ram suspect's down. PRESTON PECINOVSKY In Northern Gardens. There is only one way in or out of their area, so get out of your car and start shooting. One may try to make a break for it in one of the cars, so shoot him before he can get moving. If he gets in a car, then use an RPG on him. If that doesn't work, do it the old fashioned way, get on his tail and shoot like heck. ALONSO GORALSKI He's at the airport, standing next to his car with a friend. If you can't get him a few seconds after you pull up, he'll get in his car and drive away. Chase him and shoot up his car. Once he's dead, you will have two to go until you can move on to the last island. BERT REKER Bert hangs out in the Boabo area of Broker. He and his gang are in a junkyard. The building across the street to the southwest is a perfect spot for sniping. There is a staircase in the back you can use to get to the top. There is also some body armor up there.Once up there, snipe every enemy you see. FREDDY PAPARO Freddy is in a parking lot in his car. As soon as you arrive he'll drive away. Chase after him and shoot up his car to get it to stop. Then take out him and his friends. Desert Eagles are best for this, one shot to the head takes them out really fast. But for safer purposes, use an RPG. ===ALDERNEY=== MARTY BOLDENOW Located in Acter. This one is a standard shootout. There are several ways in, but the easiest is probably from the south. Use an Uzi or AK-47 for this. Aim for the head. NOEL KATSUDA Located in Tutor. He's in a compound with a main entrance on the west side, and a back entrance accessible only on foot to the southwest. Take out him and his men. Once taken out, get their ammo. It's if you want to save money. RODNEY MCENIRY Located in Aldernedy City. When you get close he'll drive away. As he flees, he'll shoot at you and drop grenades. Shoot up his car to get him to stop, then kill him. Desert Eagle for weapon of choice. GLENN LUSHBAUGH When you pull up, he'll try to drive away to the south. Chase him down and shoot up his car to kill him. MP5 blows cars up faster. I use it a lot. PHIL BACERRA When you get to the location, he and his men will try to escape in two trucks. Take one out with an RPG, or ram it and pin it against a wall. Then you can chase the other. Hummers are probably the vehicles for this mission, if you want to ram. Since Hummers are not only huge, but they are fast and can knock cars over without damage on itself. SERGI SZERBIN In Leftwood. Take out him and his gang. The raised area to the north is a good shooting position, or you can get them with your sniper rifle from the south. Sniping is better for this. I snipe all the time. DANNY HATMAKER Danny and his crew are at the docks. The expressway to the west is a great sniper position. If you're going to take them out up close, know that you'll come under fire as soon as you enter the gate. So be careful. Have an RPG ready, because they are very useful for fights, all of them. MERVIN ESKUCHEN When you pull up to the location, the gang will try to flee to the north. in two large SUVs. You can ram the two vehicles then shoot them with an RPG. Or you can chase them. You can also try to block the road. Just ram and shoot them. They both work more efficiently. You can still block though. They eventually get out of their car and shoot at you. So you can take cover and shoot at them. Both ways are good. FREDERICK HARRISON Frederick and his gang are on the old train bridge in Tutor. They are spread out, and easy to take out one at a time. The expressway to the west makes a great sniper location. Stand on top of your car so you can better see over the rail. Then, snipe one at a time without rushing it. Rushing it just makes it a little bit harder. So keep it calm, and snipe. KEENAN BURDETT These guys are in a parking structure. There is one guy on each level, except for the top where there's a group of them. There are soda machines on the lower levels if you're low on health. Stay in cover always, and take them out at different times. It will go faster that way. Don't ever charge, that just lowers your health faster. Now, you are finished with each islands criminals from the police computer! Well done! Dare Devil (30G) Complete 100% of the unique stunt jumps. Endangered Species (50G) Collect every hidden package in the game. Kill all 200 pigeons. To find all 200 takes a lot of time and hard looking. The only thing I can say that will help you is to listen closely in areas. If you do, you can hear hummings. When you do, get your gun out and search the area. 200 is a big number. So let the hunting begin. No More Strangers (5G) Meet all random characters. Only 11 of them count toward the achievement (Ivan, Cherise, and Clarence are optional). Here is the list of the Random Characters and their locations. ===BADMAN=== Badman's mission becomes available after you complete the "Shadow" mission for Little Jacob. Look for him around Harrison Street and Dukes Boulevard. Take Badman to the alleyway just off Carrollton Street and take out the Russians. There are three of them. Running a car through the alley is a good way to start off the fight. The last one will try to run. So snipe him for a quick take out. ===JEFF=== 1. Look for Jeff in East Holland, Algonquin. Follow his wife and take photos of her cheating. There is a car you can use next to you, after the scene. Follow them into the cafe. They are upstairs. Don't get too far, too close. They will find out that you are spying on them so once you get a clear shot, get out of there. Reward: $1000. 2. Jeff will call your cell phone about this mission. Head into the underground parking structure. Jeff will ask you to dispose of the body. Drive the car to the marker, but if any cops see the body, you'll get a wanted level. When you reach the marker, drive toward the ocean, and jump out. The car will sink into the water. A shame that had to happen. 3. Jeff will ask Niko to kill his new wife. Niko will refuse and Jeff will walk away. Karma will then catch up with Jeff. Grab the money he drops, and hop into the abandoned sports car. Good riddance. ===BRIAN=== 1. Brian is next to Roman's cab company. It's not much of a mission, but when you first encounter Brian, he insults you and talks about how rich he is and demonstrates it by giving Niko $100. For extra money in the beginning, run over him with your car because he drops 1000 dollars. Not everytime, but a lot. You'll need it for clothes, which you will mostly need for then. 2. Brian is around the corner from your first safehouse. Western Crockett Avenue in Hove Beach. He's become a junkie and asks you to drive him to meet his dealer. After you pick up his drugs, drive him home. He will be greatful of that. 3. Brian is next to the gun shop. Munsee and Dillon in Downtown Broker, go with him to pay off his dealer. His dealer will try to beat him up, so point a gun at them and they'll run away. Take Brian home to complete the mission. Reward: $500 ===MARNIE=== 1. First appears in Southern Algonquin at a park with a large fountain in City Hall. She asks you to take her to her "dealer" in Alderney. You'll end up giving her $500. Odd, I know. 2. Appears at Ivy Drive South and Quartz in Northwestern Algonquin. Look for her early in the morning. Try around 10am or so. She will ask you to drive her to Grand Easton Station. ===IVAN=== Ivan is only available if you spared his life in the "Ivan the Not So Terrible" mission. He is in Acter, in Alderney. Take Ivan to collect his money. In the alley, you'll get into a shootout. There are three guys on the ground, one on the roof to your right, one on the fire escape to your left. Each of them drop cash. Reward: $1000 ===MEL=== Mel becomes available after you complete the mission "Escuela of the Streets" for Manny. This is the same guy Niko knocked over in the scene before the mission "Bull in a China Shop." He is in Hove Beach, on the corner of Masterson St. and Mohawk Ave. He asks you to drive him to his loanshark. When you get there, the loanshark promises violence. There are three of them, and all are armed with pistols. Reward: $500 ===GRACIE=== This random mission unlocks after you've completed the "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" mission. In Acter, on the corner of Babbage Drive and Hardtack Ave. you'll find Gracie, the girl Niko kidnapped. She'll recognize him and call for her mob family to attack. Take cover, or run across the street. Take them out, and pick up whatever money they drop. They have powerful weapons. Use RPG or AK-47. ===SARA=== Sara's mission become available after you clear Hossan's mission. She can usually only be found late at night. 1. She asks for a ride home. When you get there, her husband tries to beat you up. Beat him up, and take the money he drops. 2. She is on the northeast corner of the Fishmarket (Pier 45), in Algonquin just south of the Broker Bridge. Try early in the morning before noon. She asks you to pick up a package at Perseus. It will cost you $500 for the package. You get $1000 when you bring her the package. Four more to go. Don't worry about Cherise and Clarence. Though, if you decide to do the mission for each, then you have 6 more to go. For the money I guess. ===PATHOS=== 1. Pathos is at star Junction in Algonquin. Speak to him, and some haters will taunt him. Follow Pathos to the alley across the street and fight the two guys beating up on him. Using a bat is most recommendable to not attract any unnecessary attention. Having guns equipped -- even before the initial cut scene with Pathos. It will cause police to appear and open fire on those involved in the fight. 2. Spoiler: Patho's second mission is near star junction again. Some haters instigate a fight and shoot him. You must take out the haters and transport Pathos to the hospital before he dies. Poor Pathos. ===ILYENA FAUSTIN=== She is in Firefly Island, near the pier. This mission is only unlocked after you've finished the mission "The Puerto Rican Connection." She asks you to get a guy to leave her daughter alone. Head over there and talk to him. Then beat him up, but don't kill him. Guys in this game are really annoying. If you see what I mean in missions. ===CHERISE=== She is at the corner of Wardite and Exeter in Northwood. This mission is only available if you spare Cherise in the Ruff Rider mission. Head over to her boyfriend and teach him a lesson. Don't kill him, just beat him up. It'll go by faster by a couple melee counters. ===HOSSAN=== Hossan will be selling fake handbags on a street corner in Southwestern Algonquin. After conversing, he will ask you to accompany him on a collection. Your reward for helping him is $500. Hossan should be on your phonebook and become a friend. But I guess not. ===CLARENCE=== Clarence's mission becomes unlocked after you complete the mission "Blood Brothers" if you chose to spare him in the mission "Holland Nights." When you find Clarence, he'll thank you for sparing his life by trying to kill you. He is armed with an SMG. Kill him to complete the mission. A shot to the head will instantly kill him. ===EDDIE LOW=== 1. Eddie is found in the far left of Alderney City in an alley across from Auto Exoticar. He can only be found at night. Try at midnight. Worked for me. He asks you to drive him to the docks, then to Star Junction. No pay is in the mission. 2. Eddie can be found in Berchem this time, once again at night.Try around 3am. Speak to him, and he'll attack you. Kill him to complete the mission. Key To The City (100G) Achieve 100% in the "Game progress" statistic. This achievement takes a while to complete. Just hang out with friends a lot and always accept their invitations. You can always cancel the date without much of a penalty. Be sure to work on this after completing the "Liberty City Minute" Achievement. Courier Service (10G) Complete all 10 package delivery jobs. These jobs become available by cell phone once you become friends with Little Jacob. Retail Therapy (10G) Unlock the special ability of buying guns from a friend. This is earned by being good friends with Little Jacob. Once at 75% he will call you to say you can call him anytime for a gun sale. Order Fulfilled (10G) Complete all 10 Exotic Export orders. These missions are available by e-mail from Brucie. Genetically Superior (25G) Come first in 20 singleplayer street races. Races are available by cell phone after you get to know Brucie a little. Driving Mr. Bellic (10G) Unlock the Taxi special ability. Earned during the story by being good friends with Roman. Take Roman to everything it says on your cellphone until 75%. Warm Coffee (5G) Successfully date a girl to be invited into her house. Very easily done with your first girlfriend, Michelle. she'll allow you to come into her apartment on the second date. Then her fondness for you increases and she runs to your car since she's crazy about you and gets in to start a date. Same thing goes for any other girl you date. ===GAMES=== Gobble Gobble (10G) Score 3 strikes in a row in 10-pin bowling. An easy way to do this is choose the first lane, then take two steps to the left, and go a slow speed. You will need to make sure that it is slow enough to know all the pins down. Once you do, do it another two times and if you miss, keep trying. Pool Shark (10G) Beat a friend at pool. The easiest way to do this is to let the game line up your shots for you. When it comes to your shot, do not adjust the cue, but just go right ahead and pot the ball. Its hard to get shots by aiming yourself. But, If you get the power right, the ball will go in the majority of the time. Don't go to fast, now. Roman is the easiest to beat in this case. One Hundred and Eighty (10G) Score 180 with 3 darts in a darts game. You have to hit the triple 20 spot 3 times in a row. Its not very hard. Just be patient and use the steady aim. Just keep trying until you get it. You should get it your first try, though. The only thing that is hard about this achievement is the fact that the cursor moves around like crazy. But you shouldn't have a problem with it. King of QUB3D (15G) Beat the High Score in QUB3D. This game is somewhat like tetris. Anytime 4 blocks of the same color touch, they are destroyed. By forming squares, you boost your power meter. You can use a full meter for various abilities. There are a ton of locations of QUB3D, but for the most-known spot, go to moto. The game is to the left of the cashier. Then, once you start a game, set the colors in different catagories. This can get tough, but try your hardest to get 4 of the same color in a row. Keep trying until you get it. ===DESTRUCTION=== Chain Reaction (20G) Blow up 10 vehicles in 10 seconds. Easily done by parking a bunch of cars at a gas station and using a grenade or RPG. This can also be done by blocking up a street in a high traffic area, such as Algonquin Bridge with a Bus and waiting for cars to stack up. Then run down the line dropping grenades or fire off an RPG. Finish Him (15G) Complete 10 melee counters in 4 minutes. Get into fights with pedestrians, then when they take a punch hit A to dodge, then punch back to perform a counter. This is easiest to do at the Helitour site. All pedestrians there will fight back and there is a never-ending supply. There is also a hot-dog vendor just outside if you need health. Keep trying if it won't unlock. Rolled Over (30G) Do 5 car rolls in a row from one crash. Fairly easy to do. Use a car such as the Sentinel or one of similar size, go to the airport and launch off of the yellow signs in the grass. You don't actually have to get 5 flips from one jump. You just have to get 5 flips without wrecking your car. So keep jumping and you will get it. Note: You may have to land on your wheels, without rolling afterwards for this to work. So keep trying if you can't seem to unlock the achievement. Walk Free (50G) Lose a 4-star wanted rating by outrunning the cops. 4-stars can be earned quickly by heading into certain parts of the airport. To lose the rating, call Roman for a taxi and as a passenger head to a location outside the wanted zone. When you arrive, police will be in area looking for you. Quickly find a place to hide. Heading to one of the safehouses works best. Then, if they come in, save your game and reload. Another method could be just using a Hummer and hightailing it out of there. Works for me every time. Just make sure you have the right weapons, good enough health, and speed. Then you will be ready to escap 4 stars. One Man Army (40G) Survive 5 minutes on 6-star wanted level. There are a few ways to do this, but I won't say all of them because it is not that hard. One is to grab a helicopter and head for a restricted island. You'll get an instant 6-star level. Just fly around for 5 minutes and avoid police choppers. The best time to do this is just after you've unlocked Algonquin. You can steal a helicopter from the helicopter tour in southeast Algonquin, and fly it over Alderney and avoid Police Choppers. But they won't harm you, if you are quick at escaping. Another way is, if you head for the Algonquin bridge early in the game, drop down onto the train track level. Half way across you'll get caught with that 6-star level. You can hang out on the train tracks and hide between iron girders. The cops will get stuck above on the road and the choppers will have trouble spotting you. A few may find their way down so have some weaponry just in case. Doesn't hurt. If you want to go face to face with police officers and FIB, this one takes a significant amount of weaponry. At either a safehouse or a hospital with an interior, start shooting people to build your wanted level. Use the main door to hide from police and just continue to kill people and blow up vehicles to get to 6 stars. At 6 stars, barricade yourself at the end of the emergency ward of the hospital or at the top of the stairs for most safehouses. You should be able to last well past 5 minutes with a decent amount of weaponry. ===EXPLORATION=== It'll Cost Ya (5G) Complete a taxi ride without skipping from one island to another. Pick up a taxi at one side of a bridge and set a waypoint at the other side. Fairly short ride to sit through. Speed the ride up for an even faster ride. Sightseer (5G) Fly on all helicopter tours of Liberty City. The tours are found in the south of the second island. There are 6 tours to take. Just keep taking tours until it unlocks. 3 are in daylight and the other 3 are in the night. Skip them and after all 6 it will unlock. Under the Radar (40G) Use a helicopter to fly beneath the main bridges in the game that cross water. There are 14 of these. Look at your world map for trophy markers after you fly under one of the bridges. Wheelie Rider (30G) Do a wheelie lasting at least 500 feet on a motorbike. Find a Fagio bike. It looks like a scooter. These bikes are nearly impossible to flip over so just hold back on a straight stretch of road. Keep trying until you get it. Also, make sure that you have a clear path of no cars because they can mess you up. I suggest a beach of some sort for this. ===MULTIPLAYER=== Cut Your Teeth (5G) Earn a personal rank promotion in multiplayer. This requires $1000. Almost any game type should get you your first promotion quickly. Just make sure its a ranked match. Wanted (20G) Achieve the highest personal rank in multiplayer. This is rank 10. This will take some considerable time and effort. So keep on killing. Fly The Co-op (15G) Beat Rockstar's time in ranked versions of "Deal Breaker", "Hangman's NOOSE" and "Bomb da Base II". The times to beat are: Deal Breaker - 7:04, Hangman's NOOSE - 2:32, Bomb da Base II - 5:56. Just set up a match with your friends who you know play really good and keep trying the missions. Let Sleeping Rockstars Lie (10G) Kill a Rockstar developer in a ranked multiplayer match. It is now officially a VIRAL achievement. So kill any random person who killed the Rockstar developer, or a person who killed a person who killed a developer and you'll get the achievement. Join the Midnight Club (10G) Win a ranked multiplayer race without damaging your vehicle too much and with damaged enabled. A helicopter race will lower the chance of suffering too much damage to your vehicle. Just be sure damage is enabled. If you have trouble, then keep trying. Top the Midnight Club (20G) Be first in 20 different ranked standard multiplayer races. Take It for the Team (10G) Be on the winning team in all ranked multiplayer team games. Just play one type of game until you win and move down the list. Its one of the easiest multiplayer achievements. Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic (30G) Win all ranked multiplayer variations, all races, and "Cops 'n Crooks" as both sides Teamplayer (10G) Kill 5 players who are not in your team in any ranked multiplayer team match. Just get into a full team deathmatch and kill as many players on the opposing team as possible. In an 8vs8 match, it shouldn't be hard to get 5 of them. It's best when you start out because you play against people who aren't that good. Top of the Food Chain (10G) Kill 20 players with a pistol in a ranked multiplayer deathmatch. Jump into a deathmatch and just keep using your pistol. Auto aim enabled and weak weapons are settings that will help with completing this achievement. It takes around 3-5 matches. ============================================= = 4 - Special Thanks = ============================================= I would like to thank Rockstar North for creating such an awesome, realistic game.
